You’ll be responsible for the content and delivery of our support and advice, and our grant assessments, in collaboration with the wider Church Engagement team. You’ll give presentations to church volunteers, helping them to care for their historic church buildings. You’ll build local connections and partnerships, and contribute to sector forums.

We are looking for someone who will respond quickly to enquiries, in a friendly and professional manner. You should love interacting with volunteers, be positive and upbeat, and have excellent written and spoken English. We also want you to feel confident about managing a busy workload against deadlines.

Location: Home based in Scotland with travel throughout the country or region and occasional travel to the National Churches Trust offices in London.

• implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm

About the role:

Victim Support have been successful in securing funding for the delivery of Drive. Drive is an innovative national framework that aims to improve the lives and safety of victims and children affected by domestic abuse by holding high-risk perpetrators to account. This involves the identification and targeting of high risk/high harm perpetrators and combines case management with a co-ordinated multi-agency response.

This role is based from our Blackpool Office, delivering a service that covers Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde, Lancaster and surrounding areas. You will be eligible to apply for Hybrid working (2 days per week from home) after successful completion of your probation.

The Victim Liaison Officer will act as the conduit between Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (who support high risk victims of DA) and Drive Case Managers (who support perpetrators) to ensure that risks posed to victims are assessed and information is shared in order to minimise that risk. You will be responsible for:

• Contacting victims to conduct risk assessments, safety planning and referrals to IDVA and other services as appropriate.
• Supporting clients to understand the purpose of Drive and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• You will be a key member of the perpetrator panel. You will research and gather information to present the views of victims and the risks posed to them in order for risk to be managed and mitigated where possible.

You will need:

• An in depth understanding of domestic abuse, risk assessment and risk management including experience of working with victims of domestic abuse.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Empathy and a genuine desire to help and support victims of domestic abuse

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager to join the Greater London Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. 

You will be part of the regional office team, managing two Regional Casework Co-ordinators, which will provide specialist administrative and single point of contact support to SSAFA branch-based volunteers, to ensure a consistent, timely and quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.  The role will require you to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  At times, the role will require support to the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients. 

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working in a close team and line managed by the Regional Operations Manager. 

The post is home-based, but you will have to travel occasionally into London. 

About the team 

The regional office is a “virtual” office and supports three SSAFA branches in the Greater London region, as the volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries.  The successful candidate will work as part of a support team which includes two Regional Casework Co-ordinators and a Regional Operations Manager.  All team members are home based.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, together with managing and reporting on service delivery.  You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, together with achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of quickly learning a computerised case management system and be proficient with numbers.  The successful candidate will have experience of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision. 

It would be advantageous to have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector would be valuable, and the military charity sector landscape across London would be helpful.  Commitment to SSAFA’s values including equality, diversity and inclusion is vital.

You will provide advice on welfare benefit issues to ensure income maximisation is achieved for beneficiaries and signpost to other local specialist agencies for expertise when required.

St. John's College is a specialist college based in Brighton supporting young people aged 16-25. The college became part of Ambitious about Autism in 2023.

We are now looking for an exceptional, creative Occupational Therapist who wants to make a difference in the everyday lives of the young people we work with.

You will be working with the transdisciplinary team to improve outcomes for children and young people through the application of expertise in occupational therapy. You will achieve this through providing high-quality Occupational Therapist therapy advice and support across the three tiers of support (universal, targeted and specialist).

The role involves supporting class teams to create enabling environments and reducing occupational barriers to the curriculum. In addition, you will devise and implement individual and group intervention programmes. You will also write and support the fidelity of Occupational therapy programmes for others to deliver.

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK. 

Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as providing social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services. Our Legal Access Department in the UK, provides access to critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, supports people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum.

In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding and service provision to displaced people who live in appalling and dangerous conditions. 

All of Care4Calais’ operations are supported by a small, dedicated team of staff who supervise large volunteer teams to provide much needed support to communities seeking asylum and on the move in the UK and France. 

About the role: 

Care4Calais are recruiting two Operations Coordinators to support their French operations. 

The aim of the Operations Coordinator role is to support the Care4Calais’ French operations to continue to deliver vital humanitarian NFI (non food item) distributions and essential services. We distribute 6 days a week and provide daily services which include  phone charging sessions, access to hairdressing, bike repair and sewing equipment, activities such as games and language lessons as well as information sharing and refreshments to communities living in northern France. Whilst this is a challenging position you will be given a thorough induction and work alongside experienced team members. 

The successful candidate for this role will be proactive and hardworking with the ability to problem-solve and prioritise effectively. The role would suit someone who is a self-starter, strong team player and excels working within a varied role. Candidates will need strong organisational skills and must have the ability to make numerous important and compassionate decisions each day.

You will be expected to demonstrate excellent judgement, initiative, integrity and strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate to a diverse group of people. You will be part of Care4Calais’ core team in France and will report directly to the Head of Field Operations in France.

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Providing core operations support for Care4Calais’ operations in northern France 

• Supporting a team of logistics and purchasing specialists to manage new and second hand clothing stock and feed into operational planning for field activities.

• Managing and delivering Care4Calais’ NFI aid distributions and service provision with people on the move at the French/British border

• Managing and supporting teams of up to 40 volunteers each day to provide daily services in Calais and Dunkirk. Including leading daily briefings and health and safety training. 

• Supporting the smooth running of a warehouse and donation storage facility. 

• Working alongside a small staff team to develop processes, procedures and documentation to support the effective running of Care4Calais’ humanitarian operations. 

• Attending external meetings, building and maintaining relationships with partners and key stakeholders which allow Care4Calais’ operations to continue to run smoothly and effectively.

 Essential Skills and Experience: 

• 1 - 2 years experience working in an humanitarian context, for a human rights organisation or with people from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds;

• Professional or voluntary experience of working on projects concerning risk management, health and safety, safeguarding and compliance. 

• Self-motivated and used to managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines;

• Able to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including those from displaced communities;

• Good decision-making and negotiation skills;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• Experience working with displaced people or communities on the move, ideally with NFI distribution experience

• Experience leading and managing volunteer teams from varied backgrounds 

• Experience managing warehouse or storage spaces and/or complex logistical and purchasing projects. 

• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English and at least a B2 level of French proficiency. 

• Strong digital literacy, including ability to work on Google Workspace and Office 365;

• Full clean driving licence and experience or willingness to drive vans

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with teams from different cultural backgrounds;

• Baccalauréat, A Level or equivalent academic qualification

• Experience delivering mass distributions of NFI or other aid items in an humanitarian context. 

• Proficiency in one or more of the languages spoken within asylum seeking communities, such as but not limited to: Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Dari, Kurdish Sorani, Tigrinya or Amharic.

An exciting opportunity to join Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT), a vibrant East London charity dedicated to supporting individuals affected by homelessness and addiction. This role is crucial in providing personalised support and interventions for those experiencing homelessness and addiction issues, and to create a safe environment that empowers residents to make positive changes in their lives.

Role Overview:

Housing and Service Delivery

• Provide strong and effective support to residents in Acorn House that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a personalised way and within a framework of active engagement and co-production
• Developing and reviewing support plans that reflect the interests and aspirations of residents
• Induct new residents in line with the service’s policies and procedures and support them to
  continue in their journey towards recovery from addiction
• Carry out assessments of those referred to Acorn House, and induct new residents
• Ensure the fundamental needs of residents are met including good quality accommodation and facilities, healthy food, advice and guidance around benefits, and alcohol and drug testing (to help maintain an abstinent environment)
• Deal with the immediate support needs of residents as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary
• Support residents in addressing physical and mental health issues, including liaison with primary and secondary health teams
• Ensure residents are supported through court or welfare rulings (if necessary)
• Ensure effective and compliant administration of resident data using a bespoke Salesforce- based platform (In-Form)
• Ensure Housing Benefit and Services Charges are collected and managed effectively
• Monitor resident’s physical and mental health, ensuring appropriate support is provided
• Be flexible and responsive at all times to meet the changing needs of the service and the service users and ensuring high quality support is provided.
• Ensure each resident’s support plan is written, monitored and reviewed as appropriate to reflect their changing needs.

• Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required

Special Conditions

• This post requires the holder to work varying shifts between 08.00 am and 8.00 pm and participation in the call rota system (for which an additional allowance is paid)
• The post-holder is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required
• On occasions you may be requested to change your rota to ensure the requirements of the service are covered
