About The Felix Project 

The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.

The Felix Project is a dynamic, ambitious charity working to make London a city where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.

We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to over one thousand charities across London. Here at Felix’s kitchen we turn some of that surplus food into Felix Meals, ready to eat meals which go out to people all across London. Are mantra for these meals is, nutritious & delicious food which not only feeds but hopefully brings a smile to the face of our consumers. .

We were founded in 2016 in memory of Felix Byam Shaw, by his father, entrepreneur Justin Byam Shaw. 

Purpose of the Job 

To support in both the design & creation and the day to day running & implementation of Felix's Kitchen new employability programme and then be the key driving force behind delivering these programmes. 

You will be leading a team of chef apprentices, providing them with hands on skills training created by yourself alongside the accredited course, supporting them with functional skills training, being their day-to-day line manager and supporting other employability programmes within the Felix Project in particular Felix’s Kitchen other programmes.  

You will work alongside the wider Felix Kitchen team and support your programme to integrate into the main production kitchen. You will take a leading role in supporting Felix’s Kitchen at events and engagement opportunities, supporting the apprentices being a huge part of these events, both on and off site. The training kitchen will be your base and you will be responsible for the safe and effective running of this part of the kitchen, maximising its impact on the programmes as well as exploring other opportunities for its use, hosting visitors and charity partners. You will be a key part of all reporting and evaluations of our employability programmes.

The successful candidate will provide a generalist and energy advice service in a wide range of enquiry areas such as benefits, housing and employment.

Requirements

1. One year’s experience of delivering generalist advice within Citizens Advice or another quality assured environment such as AQS.
2. Experience of using interpersonal skills, including sensitive listening and questioning skills to understand the needs of others, especially in the context of telephony.
3. Ability to give and receive feedback objectively and sensitively.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills, with good IT knowledge to support delivery of service
5. Ability and willingness to work both on own initiative and as part of a team.
6. Willingness to learn and develop skills and be flexible with service delivery.
7. A good understanding of fuel poverty issues and the issues affecting society and their implications for clients and service provision.

As Trusts and Foundations Officer you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will be responsible for carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. Central England Law Centre (CELC) provides a vital service to clients across Coventry and Birmingham, providing support for all aspects of housing law through a team of dedicated solicitors, caseworkers, paralegals and support workers.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced caseworker or solicitor to join the team, supporting our clients across Birmingham in the delivery of casework through the Law Centre’s Legal Aid contract.

Responsibilities

With responsibility for a caseload of clients across Birmingham, the successful candidate will:

• Advise clients on all aspects of housing law through face-to-face and telephone appointments
• Undertake casework and represent clients at court as appropriate
• Liaise with the Legal Aid Agency in respect of funding applications and claims
• Complete public funding forms via CCMS and paper applications where appropriate
• Promptly cost and bill closed cases in order to meet individual and team targets

Person Specification

• A solicitor or caseworker with proven experience of the delivery of casework through a legal aid contract

Changing Futures is a £64 million joint initiative by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and The National Lottery Community Fund. Its aim is for local organisations to work in partnership to improve support for people who are experiencing multiple disadvantage. Through Changing Futures in Greater Manchester, Shelter works in partnership with Greater Manchester Combined Authority, locality partnerships and other VCSE and community partners and we ensure lived experience is at the heart of design, delivery and systems change. About the role

As the 'Changing Futures' GROW Coordinator you will provide strategic oversight of GROW placements, working closely with the Changing Futures Innovation sites and the GMCA to provide support around inclusive recruitment and sharing best practice regarding employing people with lived experience of multiple disadvantages. You will co-ordinate the programme to ensure a high-quality traineeships and make sure that the structures and resources to facilitate traineeships are in place.

About you

The Development Officer (Trusts & Foundations) will join a small, dedicated team responsible for securing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant making bodies in the UK and internationally in support of agreed University priorities, including Health-UEA Climate-UEA and various campus projects. 

Reporting to the Senior Development Manager (Trusts & Foundations) you will apply for and manage grants whilst also managing the research of new funding opportunities for the team.

About the Role

This is a varied role which involves leading the continuous development of the service to ensure that it meets the needs of the community, in line with Mind BLMK values, including promotion of the service and building strong links with other local organisations, groups, agencies and the wider community. The role also holds responsibility for referrals into the service and leading on more complex cases to assess suitability along with managing the staff, volunteer and student team delivering the service and for the health, safety and maintenance of the Luton Wellbeing Centre.

Service Delivery

• Operate a service and ensure outcomes which supports individuals to deescalate crisis and develop strategies for recovery and increased wellbeing, in line with Mind BLMKs Recovery Model and contract requirements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the delivery of the Luton service plan and in line with local Luton stakeholder initiatives and plans.
• Work closely with the recovery and peer workers to ensure the correct access to service procedure is followed, taking responsibility for more complex referrals and ensuring everybody has a consistent and quality experience and are able to access the correct service for them in an acceptable timescale.
• Ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteer and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health strategies.
• Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of Recovery and Peer Workers, volunteers and student placements).
• Work with the Operational Services Manager to review, design and implement changes to service delivery and working models, ensuring the service meets the needs of the local community, and identify relevant funding opportunities.
• Hold responsibility for health and safety (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises), data collection, budget & cash handling (and associated record-keeping), in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures and guidance.

CAT is entering an exciting phase in its development.  In recent years the organisation has achieved significant growth in student numbers, membership and fundraising income.  We have ambitious plans for a transformative project, Cynefin: a flagship, sustainable Welsh visitor attraction and skills hub which is included in the portfolio for the Mid Wales Growth Deal.

The Head of Communications will be a member of the Project Management Team contributing to developing the vision, strategy and business case for Cynefin, supporting the capital fundraising campaign and leading on the engagement and communications.

Main Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership of CAT’s marketing, policy and communications (internal and external).

• Liaise with key stakeholders, represent CAT at events and act as media spokesperson on behalf of the organisation when required.

• Line manage, lead, support and motivate the marketing and communications team.

• To procure, brief and manage relationships with external agencies including creative, PR agencies etc in order to deliver strategic objectives.

This support will include: using the Zero Carbon Britain model to provide people with the knowledge to create Zero Carbon Action Plans; delivering Zero Carbon Britain training using a ‘train the trainer’ model to increase the skills and capacity of communities to take action on climate change; supplying the tools to enable people to turn climate emergency declarations into action; setting up a digital resource hub and online network to provide peer support and increase confidence of individuals and communities to take action on climate change. In conjunction with the Zero Carbon Britain Hub, an Innovation Lab will identify key issues, priorities and tasks; develop ideas that impact on these areas; and create routes into larger scale impact or systems change.
