We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join a Learning Disabilities team as an Engagement & Activities Coordinator working within Supported Living Services across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside and South Tyneside.

Job type: Permanent, full-time - 37.5hr per week
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 (dependant on experience)

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide engagement co-ordination of all communication and activities to support the future development of the service.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Provide coordination and administrative support for Communications and Engagement projects across Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, and South Tyneside.
• Manage events, including planning engagement activities for clients and colleagues.
• Implement recruitment initiatives using social media, print, and outdoor spaces, with client involvement.
• Support colleague engagement through surveys and feedback.
• Collaborate with the Communications Team on campaign planning for the department.
• Create, edit, and publish news stories and content across various communication channels.
• Produce website content, such as case studies and news stories.
• Organise and execute inclusive events, including venue logistics, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers or staff for event support.
• Evaluate activities and events through participant feedback to improve future initiatives.
• Build partnerships with local organisations to enhance activity offerings.
• Develop promotional materials and use multiple platforms, including social media, for event marketing.
• Handle event-related issues to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Manage tasks, ensuring timely updates and reports on projects.
• Maintain contact lists and manage communications, including weekly updates.
• Analyse and present data in various formats and ensure processes are followed for proper documentation.

This full-time position requires 35 hours per week, following a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays, with weekend shifts typically being one in every three. Flexibility is essential. The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of two days in the office (usually Mondays and Thursdays) and three days working from home a week. Candidates must have a dedicated home working environment that is free from background noise to ensure focus and professionalism while working remotely. 

About you

The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has great communication skills and able to speak to a wide variety with experience of handling calls. As part of this role, you will be often supporting clients that are distressed, therefore, you will be able to work in an emotionally charged environment and excellent ‘bounce back ability’ and resilience, with the ability to keep calm under pressure. This person will be emotionally intelligent, showing empathy and knowing how to support clients and colleagues.

- Fundraising Stewardship: Provide stewardship for Fundraising My Way participants, local fundraising groups, volunteers, and third-party eventers.
- Public Collecting Support: Manage collection site bookings and permits, contact volunteers, dispatch materials, and ensure proper follow-up and record-keeping for collections.

Loneliness is a major issue that is now widely recognised in society today, particularly amongst older people. By scheduling weekly calls from our trained volunteers, Age UK's National Telephone Friendship Service provides older people with a chance to make a new friend from the comfort of their home.

As a Befriending Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting the thousands of matches between our members and volunteers across the UK. Whether you are answering emails and calls, ensuring safeguarding measures are upheld or supporting members and volunteers through the onboarding processes, you will be helping to ensure this much needed service reaches those who need it most, in a safe and efficient manner.

Utilising your excellent customer service skills, you will be the first port of call to support our volunteers and older members - so you'll need to be comfortable spending a lot of time on the phone and communicating by email. You'll also need to be passionate about supporting older people and have a good understanding of older people's needs.

This role can either be based at our office in Blackpool, or in Ashburton Devon. We offer a hybrid model of home and office based-working, so you will need to be within a reasonable distance of either the Blackpool or Ashburton office and be willing to travel there regularly. As a guide, the team currently work from the office once or twice a week but please be aware this could increase.

You will work a 35-hour working week, 5 days out of 7 with start and end times between 8am and 6pm. It will include weekend and bank holiday shifts, which will be arranged on a rota basis.

About the Project

Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver a one-to-one outreach service for people who are in hospitals across Hertfordshire.

This is a new dual diagnosis arm of the project based at Lister Hospital working in A&E departments and hospital wards facilitating hospital discharge for people with a mental health and/or drugs and alcohol need.

About the Role:

The Bounce Back Worker will be based at Lister Hospital and HMN Centres, promoting joint working between Lister Hospital staff and HMN, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.

The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 16 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patients homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge.

The Bounce Back Worker will work with the HMN Community Outreach Teams and the hospital staff to ensure patients are offered advice, information, and holistic support. The Bounce Back worker will use a recovery orientated approach working with patients on the ward, and in the local community, including in people’s homes.  The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.

Key Responsibilities

• To receive referrals from the ward teams at Lister Hospital and other appropriate hospitals across Hertfordshire.
• To manage and prioritise all administration tasks associated with the service.
• To build strong relationships with staff at Lister Hospital and Mental Health Teams across Hertfordshire.
• To work in partnership with other agencies.
• To establish a strong presence on the ward, working at the hospital when required.
• Ensure a direct community service is in place which encourages, motivates and builds patients self-esteem and confidence. This will include goal setting and support with social and practical skills development.
• To assist patients to access appropriate services and community resources within the local community, accompanying patients to attend appointments where this aids ongoing recovery.
• To work with key staff within the hospital to ensure that vulnerable person’s cases are monitored and risks evaluated.
• To work with HMN staff in other services in order to make onward referrals to other projects.
• Liaise with appropriate HPFT staff to ensure that individuals are assessed for personal budgets to support with any longer term needs.
• Support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

We’re looking for someone to train as a Community Energy Champion to be able to provide energy advice to people in communities.

You will visit clients at home to complete Home Energy Audits, providing information and individualised support, and facilitating access to options which will improve people’s wellbeing and energy security. This will include recommending grants and helping complete applications and forms.  

As a Community Energy Champion, you will deliver face-to-face and virtual energy workshops to parent groups, carers groups, community groups and others. There is also the opportunity to  work with energy and water providers and other organisations to arrange themed workshop sessions.

This role will suit someone with excellent communication, planning skills, time management and an adaptable working style. Applicants should have relevant experience of delivering information and advice to a range of client groups. You must be confident using IT and will be trained to use our client database.

Main Responsibilities:

 · Colleague support and triage of O365 and SharePoint issues.  

· Train and support colleagues to maintain the SharePoint Intranet.   

· Train and support superusers across the different O365 business systems   

· Assist and lead the efficient delivery of ICT driven projects across the business through collaboration with internal and external partners/stakeholders.  

· Lead on the specific project of procuring and rolling out a new VoIP system across the whole organisation.

· Assist in the analysis of existing systems, identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability. 

· Working closely together with the Senior Management Team and our IT Support Provider to ensure the technical viability of solutions.  

· Designing and overseeing test specifications and conducting rigorous testing before rolling out live systems  

· Support the Senior Management Team to determine budgets and time frames for implementation of proposed solutions.  

· Ensure system compliance with GDPR and follow the organisations Data Protection procedures relating to confidentiality.  

· Ensuring that implementation IT projects remain within agreed-upon budgets and time frames.  

· Identifying and managing IT risks and issues that impact business outcomes   

· Training users and creating instruction manuals for new or improved O365 systems  

· Researching and evaluating emerging technologies, including both hardware and software to improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing processes.
