About the role

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in two schools in the West Midlands area: Ormiston Forge Academy in Cradley Heath and Wood Green Academy in Wednesbury. Our schools are shown on a mapThe Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.

Role responsibilities

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
• Match students with volunteer tutors
• Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
• Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate
• Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
• Manage tutor relationships and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
• Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

This is an exciting opportunity to join two well-established teams, YMCA Dialogue and the Single Point of Access (SPoA) service. We are looking for a Dialogue Project Administrator to provide vital administrative support to the SPoA team in Worthing, whilst also providing an important link between YMCA and SPoA and ensuring that both services work together effectively to provide wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people. 

In delivering the role, you will provide efficient administrative and organisational support for YMCA Dialogue. This role will sit alongside colleagues from West Sussex County Council and Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust in the Single Point of Access (SPoA) for emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people across West Sussex.

Hybrid role - working for a minimum of three days on site with the SPoA team in Worthing and the remaining days from home (Some travel across West Sussex may be required from time to time). Your expected working pattern will be Monday to Thursday, 9am - 5pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.

This role sits within the Corporate Partnerships team that provides high quality account management and supporter experience to retain, renew and grow partners towards Centrepoint’s strategic goal. The team manages a diverse portfolio of partnerships, from long-term strategic partnerships, Charity of the Year relationships and Cause Related Marketing campaigns.

The post holder will manage our corporate partnerships worth between £10,000-50,000, providing excellent and innovative stewardship and impact reporting. This role will work alongside our New Business Officer to seamlessly on-board new partners and will also be integral to recruiting and fundraising for the Centrepoint Corporate Sleep Out event.

Our client, an exciting London University Student Union, is currently seeking a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) Student Advisor. The role offers a hybrid working model, with 4 days per week based on-site in South East London and 1 day remote.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

• Providing advice to students on both a one-to-one and group basis via face-to-face meetings, telephone, and emails.
• Undertaking casework to support students with a range of issues including academic appeals/complaints, student life, academic/non-academic misconduct, sexual misconduct, abuse/harassment, domestic violence, racism, and discrimination.
• Signposting students to appropriate support services where necessary.
• Ensure enquiries are responded to in a timely manner, using Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft office 365.
• Acting as an advocate for students, where appropriate, in non-legal dealings primarily with the university, including official hearings held by committees within the university.
• Managing and prioritising your own daily workload, working to ensure that the service runs smoothly and effectively.
• Preparing content contributing to publicity campaigns, workshops, websites, and informational publications.

We are seeking (two) Suicide Bereavement Liaisons to join our Grief in Pieces: Support for Suicide Loss team. The incumbents will be experienced mental health practitioners with the understanding, therapeutic skills, personal qualities and compassion for working effectively with those affected by suicide bereavement.

The suitable candidate(s) will work with individuals, groups and communities, offering practical and emotional 1-2-1 (therapeutic) support as well as group-based interventions.

The postholder will also support with facilitating events and workshops, as needed, across the boroughs of North-East London as well as in local school and community venues.

The postholder(s) will enjoy working independently but will also work well as part of a team, ideally with experience of inter-professional working across health, education and social care. 

The individual(s) will have experience of or be willing to develop the necessary skills to work in a trauma-informed, compassion-focused and CBT-informed approach, offering a balance of bearing witness to the emotional devastation of traumatic loss and gently facilitating posttraumatic coping and growth.
