The Role
Reporting to the Shop Manager, as our Deputy Shop Manager you will lead a team of volunteers to raise funds invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire and portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity. You will also Provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire.
Specifically, you will:

Play an active part in running our shop in Richmond, supporting the Shop Manager in implementing processes and ways of working.

Provide cover for days off, holidays and sickness as required, with possible occasional travel to other shops to provide support if needed by the charity.

Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.

Manage the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager.

Manage a team of well-trained volunteers in the absence of the Shop Manager and take every effort to create a happy retail environment.

Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received).

Support the Shop Manager to ensure accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable.

To ideally be educated to GCSE or equivalent.

As one of 12 Diocese Nationally, Lichfield Diocese is seeking to launch 3 pilot FLOURISH worshipping communities in the Autumn term. Through existing partnerships with the local Churches and Church of England schools, each location will engage with children, young people, and their families, developing worshipping communities that become younger and more diverse.
The FLOURISH Enabler will play a key role in each of the locations, supporting and developing a new Worshipping Community to enable children, young people and their families to grow in faith.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a full-time permanent basis.
As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Leicester Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.
Location: Unit 5 Sturdee Road Neighbourhood Centre, Sturdee Road, Leicester, LE2 9DA
Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to work 5 days out of 7 (total of 35 hours per week) on a rota basis which will include weekend and bank holiday working.
Please note the role will include moving high volumes of stock on a daily basis.
Some but not all key responsibilities are:
- Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
- Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
- Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
- Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
- Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
- Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
- Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.
- Ensure all financial, cash handling and security procedures are adhered to as per the Barnardo's Manager's Manual and the relevant Retail procedures.
- Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.
Ideal Candidates Must Haves:
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of managing people
- Ability to liaise and respond to a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
- Ability to meet the needs of customers on a face-to-face basis, in order to generate sales and increase customer usage of the shop.
- Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply up to four figures in order to maintain budgets and complete accurately weekly income/banking sheets.
- Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
- Proven experience of meeting targets and KPI's.
- Basic IT skills.

These high-street stores are reliant on donations from the public and corporate supporters,and generate funds from the sale of these donated items. This role is for maternity cover for a period of 6 months, based within our Advocacy Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide people with information about their rights
- Help people understand the information given to them and the options available
- When required liaise with key health care professionals on behalf of individuals when required
- Delivering Advocacy Awareness training and other workshops when required
- Administrative duties include the completion of case notes, quarterly reports, managing the inbox, triaging referrals to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements, onboarding clients onto the database
- Action planning with the client, identifying goals and empowering them to create this document and own it collaboratively
- Work in line with the Advocacy Charter
- Following our non-instructed advocacy policy to ensure those who have communication issues, still get effective representation
You will have:
- A IMHA (Independent Mental Health Advocate) qualification / experience.
- Experience of Safeguarding, identifying concerns and raising appropriately
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- The ability to build good relationships
- An awareness of diversity and ability to research complex and sensitive issues independently and quickly
- Ability to work to deadlines and work independently

Robin Hood Avenue is a small mental health, supported housing service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Operational
- Engage, support, and nurture supporters throughout their fundraising journey.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key individuals, groups, and businesses to boost visibility and engagement.
- Collaborate with other teams across the organisation to deepen supporter engagement and achieve shared goals.
- Establish and coordinate a network of local volunteers and volunteer fundraising groups, empowering them to organise events and campaigns.
- Recruit, support, and guide volunteers for community-based activities, ensuring a positive experience.
- Represent the North Yorkshire Hospice Care brands by attending cheque presentations and events to thank supporters.
- Ensure activities are warmly recognised and communicated with supporters to capitalise on future opportunities.
- Deliver presentations to businesses, community groups, and schools to raise awareness and increase engagement.
- Manage all elements of street and public collections ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Support and co-ordinate the delivery of assigned fundraising events, challenge events and campaigns, ensuring supporters have a positive experience.

- Support the Community and Events Manager in achieving strategic objectives.

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Engage with a range of stakeholders, potentially building community groups, local authorities, town and parish councils, and voluntary sector organisations to take action on climate change.
- Provide administrative support for timely delivery of project activities, accurate record keeping and robust reporting across a range of CSE projects and initiatives.
- Help with the planning, promotion and delivery of training sessions, workshops and events.
- Represent CSE on a range of projects, in external, in-person and online meetings and events.
- Develop materials and approaches to promote our projects, activities, reports and publications to ensure effective engagement with our target audiences.
Essential attributes for this role include:
- O’level/GCSE Maths and English
- Basic understanding of the broad themes driving the sustainable energy, fuel poverty and climate change work of CSE.
- Highly organised and able to manage time and busy workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

About the team
It’s an exciting time to be joining Shelter. There’s a lot of change happening following the launch of our new brand, which has re-positioned the organisation and set the base for us to tackle what has grown from a housing crisis to a national emergency. We currently run a network of around 90 community charity shops across the UK - from small boutiques to large furniture shops. Our online offering has grown rapidly over the past two years, with significant turnover during the Christmas peak, success in the launch and promotion of new goods, plus the launch of our secondhand online shop – and we’re planning to expand further in the near future.
About the role
This is a great opportunity not only to see e-commerce in action, but to help deliver an e-commerce strategy, grow Shelter’s sales of second-hand goods and raise income to tackle the housing emergency. Day-to-day, you’ll be instrumental in supporting the E-Commerce Hub Manager and local area shops to maximise the hub’s financial contribution to support the work of Shelter through the effective management of volunteer, stock and premises. We’ll also rely on you to provide efficient warehouse operations and customer order processes for our online shop and help ensure a safe, clean and bright environment in which to work. Put simply, you’ll play a big part in all aspects of our e-commerce operations, including ensuring they’re efficient and delivery focused and that volunteers feel motivated.

Charity People are pleased to be supporting Tempo Time Credits, a charity that brings people together in local communities to carry out valued and important voluntary work, with their search for a Community Partnership & Network Coordinator based in Neath Port Talbot.
Tempo Time Credits started 15 years ago and is an ambitious movement that empowers, encourages, and engages people from all walks of life, from communities across the UK, to get involved and volunteer. For example, befriending or helping to improve outdoor spaces. Volunteers earn Tempo Time Credits as part of a reward and recognition which can be exchanged for a range of services and activities provided by our local and national partners.
In these challenging times, community support is more crucial than ever. Tempo stands at the forefront having engaged with 40 commissioned programmes, collaborated with 1,500 charities, empowered over 15,000 volunteers, issued over 1 million Time Credits, cultivated 750+ business venues offering rewards, and pioneered the world's first national Time Credit network.
Funded by Heritage Lottery, the project you'll work on focuses on working with heritage organisations across Neath Port Talbot to increase the number and diversity of their volunteers and to recruit and retain them in a sustainable way.
Key responsibilities:
- Building and Maintaining Relationships: You will build and maintain relationships that support Tempo objectives, seek to understand stakeholder requirements, and support organisations face to face providing advice and guidance around Time Credits.
- Communicating & Influencing: communicate openly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders, create local social media content and newsletters, persuade others using evidence-based knowledge.
- Volunteer Management: You will manage a team of local volunteers in each locality that provide on the ground support and add capacity in the local community.
The Community Partnership & Network Coordinator will have proven experience in managing and building relationships with stakeholders from third, public or business sectors, and monitoring business plans and budgets. The successful candidate will be able to work with senior executives and Government officials, plan and juggle multiple projects at once, and have knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office. You will have attention to detail, planning and organisational skills, and will be able to negotiate both internally and externally.
You will have strong account management skills and have experience of managing or working with volunteers. You will be experienced in working within a role with a varied, demanding workload with the ability to adapt to change, deliver results, and work independently, as well as part of a team. The successful candidate will be proactive and passionate about communities and creating positive, lasting change, with an awareness of the voluntary sector and its opportunities and challenges.
The role is part time and could either be 3 or 4 days (between 21 and 28 hours) with flexibility on when those hours are done, such as 21 hours over 4 days. The role will be subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.
