Community Hub Coordinator

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community Hub Coordinator to continue the transformation of our service offerings and create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community hub. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment that empowers marginalised groups, including asylum seekers, refugees, and those facing isolation or homelessness, helping them to thrive within the Newham community. We want to support individuals to move from whats wrong to whats strong, and you will be a key catalyst for this. 

As the Community Hub Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key aspects of our community hub, ensuring it remains a safe space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and build relationships. You will lead a team of committed volunteers and sessional staff, manage various hub activities, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide holistic support for our service users. As part of your remit you will also work alongside colleagues to develop our exciting new community meanwhile space by organising events, workshops and informal opportunities for connection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Building & Engagement: Develop and manage a welcoming hub that operates 5 days a week, offering tailored activities and programs that meet the needs and strengths of the community.
• Support & Empowerment: Work closely with volunteers to provide encouragement and support, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among hub participants. To include developing a steering group to help amplify the voices of marginalised individuals and groups.
• Partnership Development: Maintain and strengthen partnerships with local organisations and agencies, ensuring integrated and holistic support for service users.
• Operational Leadership: Assist in the hub's daily operations, including coordinating volunteers and supporting the management of the community café.
• Promotion & Outreach: Promote the hub's activities and conduct outreach to engage vulnerable groups, ensuring inclusivity and cultural diversity.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Compliance: Use tools like Upshot to track participation and outcomes, ensuring compliance with funders as well as our own strategic objectives. 

About You:

The ideal candidate will have experience in community engagement or project management and possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of developing and delivering community-based programs. You should be IT literate, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

The Heritage Collections Coordinator Role:

• Carry out acquisitions and disposals in accordance with the Museum Association Code of Ethics.
• Newly pack or repack poorly stored items to improve their long-term storage and preservation.

Ruils is a user-led charity based in the Richmond borough that supports disabled children and adults and the elderly to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full. We provide information, advice, advocacy, befriending and activities to our clients and their families.

As part of this mission, we deliver accessible and inclusive community group activities and volunteer-based services for disabled residents. Our ambition is to enrich people’s lives, help with their mental health challenges and reduce their isolation and loneliness. We have broadened our community remit to also identify, advise and support residents living with health inequalities in the Borough of Richmond as an NHS Southwest London Integrated Care Board Core20Plus5 Partner.

The localities of focus will be Whitton/Heathfield, Hampton North, Barnes North, Mortlake and Ham & Petersham. These localities are also where Ruils has lower levels of volunteer engagement and consequently community service provision.

Purpose of Post

• Working with the Community and Volunteer Manager to deliver our Community Independent Living Services (CILS). The role entails supporting Ruils’ Group Activities, Befriending, Active from Home Walks, as well as the recruitment and management of Ruils Volunteers.
• Working with the Community and Volunteer Manager, to manage our Core20Plus5 initiative to target resident engagement with community organisations in areas where this is identified as being low.
• To establish the reasons for this and draw up a plan for improved  local engagement by driving volunteer recruitment  and delivering increased  befriending and Active from Home client matches, new group activities, and establishing a trusted reach-out path for the currently dis-engaged residents at our Health and Wellbeing events.
• To provide input to Health and Wellbeing events organised by the Health in your Hands team in areas of focus.

Key Duties

• Support with the recruitment, matching, on-boarding, training and management of Ruils Volunteers in particular areas of focus and across the charity when required.
• Support with the administration and management of the Ruils Befriending, Active from Home Walks, and Community Group Activities, particularly in key areas of focus.
• Support new clients being referred into CILs services to access activities and services.
• Work with clients (with guidance and support) to:
• Access CILS services.
• Match with appropriate befriending volunteers.

• Support (where appropriate) with facilitating Ruils online group activities.

• Identify, reach out and establish ongoing relationships with like-minded organisations to attend their health and wellbeing events in the targeted localities. As a community connector, outreach should also identity individual influencers in these areas in order to utilise their knowledge, insight and influence with the challenges faced by local residents.
• The goal is to establish a trust and confidence to maximise our engagement with local residents.
• Other duties as deemed appropriate relating to the community services, or Ruils services generally.

Core Tasks:

Visiting Speakers Responsibility:

Our Governance Coordinator is the key point of contact for all External Speaker bookings by KCLSU student societies and activity groups. 

Responsibilities include:

• Complete initial checks, and any required risk assessments, for all external speaker bookings, against the trigger criteria within the policy.
• Coordinate mitigations such as chairing training for events that are high risk.
• Liaise with Kings to enable student groups with external speakers to book rooms for events.
• Organise meetings with student groups to improve awareness, knowledge and understanding of how the KCLSU works to support freedom of speech at King’s.
• Work with the Head of Governance and Compliance on issues arising from External Speaker events or risk assessments.

About us

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.  

Crisis Skylight Oxford is in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. Our team provide one to one specialist housing led service to help people find and secure affordable housing. We offer person centred support and will help people with anything else that will support someone to end their homelessness, such as mental health and well-being, finances or finding employment. Alongside the coaching we offer practical and creative workshops.   

The Old Fire Station building also accommodates a range of flexible arts spaces which are run by an independent arts company.

This programme of arts classes and one-off creative activities will enable Skylight clients to build their confidence and self-esteem, develop their creativity and have the opportunity to display and perform their work. You will be supported to deliver this programme by a small group of tutors and volunteers. 

Crisis Skylight Oxford is based in the Old Fire Station, and we share this building with an arts company. In this role you will work closely with staff from the arts company to deliver a range of opportunities for Skylight members including workshops, project work, training and theatre trips.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Knowledge and understanding of how to develop a high quality and varied arts programme with experience of working under pressure to deliver multiple projects. 

• Experience of engaging vulnerable, disengaged or hard to reach adults in arts activities, including people with complex needs and challenging behaviour.  

• Ability to manage, support and motivate staff and volunteers to work with vulnerable and sometimes challenging adults. 

• Experience of networking, able to develop partnerships and source new opportunities in the arts for Skylight members.

he Hackney Night Shelter relies on the local community for a significant proportion of its funding and this role is primarily outward-facing, presenting the work of the charity to the wider community and supporting the fundraising. In order to do this most effectively it is important to keep up to date with the ongoing work and therefore some hands-on work supporting the shelters is included in this role. 

Hours of work: Full time at 37 hours per week or part time at 22.5 hours per week (including some evenings and/or occasional weekends)

Salary: NJC Scales 14- 17 including London Weighting currently £32,700 (pro-rata)

The responsibilities and duties include leading on the communications and marketing; distributing fundraising information both electronically and in person, responding to email and telephone enquiries relating to fundraising activities, inviting and hosting visits to the shelter from supporters, assisting supporters with setting up JustGiving pages, providing literature, card readers, banners etc. for community events, copywriting for website, social media and fundraising materials, attending external events to represent the charity, coordinating volunteer support for fundraising events, thanking donors, building up a portfolio of photographs/ videos, supporting guests to tell their stories – in social media or in person, managing social media including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Instagram, leading on key fundraising events – including the Belter for the Shelter, the Sponsored Sleep Out, the Hackney Half Marathon and the annual Christmas Appeal. 

The post holder will also be required to participate in supporting the work in the Night Shelter including covering for some handover sessions, mornings or evenings as required, assisting with occasional inductions of new guests, assisting with occasional hosting visits and inductions for new volunteers, occasional cover at the weekends – watching the WhatsApp messages and ensuring the shelters are adequately staffed.

As well as participating in training, supervision and team meetings and representing Hackney Doorways in a professional manner at all times.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Casework Coordinator to deliver support services to people seeking asylum on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or sex characteristics.

Rainbow Migration has been supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system and campaigning for their rights since 1993. We now have an opportunity for a Casework Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in helping women seeking asylum on the basis of their sexual orientation improve their ability and resilience to cope with the challenges they face and build support networks.

This role will receive full training and support as required to deliver your responsibilities, including:

· Facilitating regular support group meetings of women who are seeking asylum on the basis of their sexual orientation

· Providing one-to-one emotional and practical support primarily to LBTQI+ women who are seeking asylum

· Assisting service users to access health services and accommodation

· Ensuring service users access quality legal representation

· Sharing your knowledge and experience by providing advice, guidance and training to other organisations working with LGBTQI+ people who are seeking asylum

This position requires that you are a lesbian or bisexual cisgender or trans woman and are comfortable discussing and disclosing your sexual orientation in a professional context with service users. Hours: Full-time (35 hours a week). Working part-time (minimum 21 hours a week) or job-sharing will be considered. Location: Rainbow Migration’s offices are based between Vauxhall and the Oval, London. About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Partnerships Teams in the Midlands and East Region. 

As the Senior Business Development Coordinator, you will lead on the coordination, and delivery of our business development work, with particular focus on bid writing, client facing product information and performance analytics.

You will provide essential support to our network development teams, design and engineering team, and our behavior change and engagement team, helping them identify and assess funding opportunities and writing funding proposals and competitive tenders, case studies and reports. 

You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as our existing Midlands and E Senior Business Development Coordinator and our Commercial and Business Services team.
