The Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management, provide leadership, and caseload co-ordination to the Swansea hub team. This project will provide support to Western Bay’s Substance Use systems to work collaboratively and, in a trauma-informed way.
The Project Co-ordinator will also play a key role in maintaining a positive and highly motivated team, sustaining excellent performance and delivery as the project develops. The role requires regular liaison with key statutory and other third sector agencies as well as proactive engagement with other leaders and organisational change processes within Platfform. This work will inform the development of our systems change practice. The Swansea Hub team is made up of a coordinator, 1 Practitioner Psychologist, 1 assistant psychologist, 1 counsellor, 1 EMDR Therapist, and 1 service administrator.

You will possess strong strategic planning skills, and a good grasp of key charity accounting and database software; principally Sage Line 50, Raiser’s Edge, electronic/online banking, Microsoft Office, especially Excel at advanced level. The Finance Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Charity and providing timely and accurate financial information. The team is responsible for ensuring there is a strong financial control environment, and for providing support and advice on all finance matters to employees across the charity.
You will be required to be in the office at least two days per week and will have a high level of financial acumen and understanding. As the Finance Manager - Compliance, Controls & Reporting, you will assist the Head of Finance in all elements of technical accounting, including financial compliance, internal financial controls, and financial reporting. Working alongside the Finance Manager - Transactional Accounting and the transactional finance team, you will ensure a seamless finance function, ensuring that best practice is adopted at all times, to minimise risk to financial fraud, and to ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Support the development and implementation of best financial practices.
· Lead the production of annual financial statements and reporting, and together with the Finance Manager - Transactional Accounting, lead the annual audit process.
· Lead the on the production of annual financial statements and annual audit on behalf of Alzheimer’s Brain Bank, a small joint venture company in which we hold a 50% share.
· Cash flow monitoring and projections.
· Prepare and submit all Office for National Statistics, Charity Commission, Companies House and OSCR (Scottish Charity Regulator) returns.
· Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with VAT reverse charges and applicable business/non-business VAT recovery rules.
· Be the first point of contact for internal and external partners regarding technical accounting and related matters, including charity VAT and Trading rules.
· Provide financial information for funding bid applications.
· Provide financial advice regarding income recognition criteria, particularly regarding legacy accruals and philanthropy pledges.
· Provide financial advice regarding expenditure recognition criteria, particularly regarding multi-year grants.
· Monitor and reconcile all restricted income against restriction forms and the grant system to ensure restricted funds are managed and spent in accordance with donor wishes.
· Review policies and procedures alongside the Head of Finance and the Finance team to ensure they are applicable, up to date, understood across the charity and consistently adhered to.
· Maintain a sound financial control environment, ensuring all assets of the charity are safeguarded against financial fraud, as much as possible.
· Working with the Head of Finance, design and implement an assurance programme on internal financial controls.
· Keep up to date with all technical finance developments and reporting requirements applicable to the charity.
· Manage Finance team GDPR deletion requests and GDPR compliance actions.
· Maintain insurances for the organisation and be the first point of contact between insurance brokers and the organisation for queries and claims.
· Manage the interface between the finance system and the grant management system to ensure the correct recognition and ageing of grant liabilities.
· Provide cover for the Finance Manager - Transactional Accounting as required.
· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Head of Finance, in line with the responsibilities of the post.
What we are looking for:
· ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
· Experience in a previous finance role.
· Statutory accounts preparation and audit experience.
· Good understanding of VAT.

Summary of the role:
The UK & International Finance Manager is responsible for the comprehensive financial management, planning, monitoring, and reporting of daily financial activities across HQ and country programmes. This includes providing advice to senior management on financial strategies.
The responsibilities include managing finances with strong controls, implementing policies and procedures, coordinating annual account production, and developing and monitoring the annual budget with senior finance leaders. The UK & International Finance Manager will also produce monthly management accounts and oversee payables, income, and treasury functions.
The UK & International Finance Manager will lead a team of technical and finance professionals, utilising expertise in finance systems and technical tools like SQL. The role includes international travel to set up and implement systems, migrate data, deliver training, and provide ongoing support. Overall, the UK & International Finance Manager ensures financial integrity and efficiency in global operations.
About the Role:
- Manage the Muslim Aid HQ Finance function, ensuring continuous financial review including costs and revenue recognition.
- Responsibility for all month end process in monthly management accounts reporting.
- Prepare management accounts including analysis of variances and reporting to budget holders, LT and Board.
- Ensuring UK & International purchase invoices and payment vouchers are correctly coded, authorised, recorded on the finance system, payment and dealing with queries within a timely manner.
- Maintain the banking relationships and be up to date with financial regulations specifically regarding banking sanctions.
- Administer payments to Country Offices in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Educated to Bachelor’s degree level & hold UK Accountancy qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Substantial proven post qualification experience working in a similar position in an INGO, including Senior Management experience, preferably in similar context.
- Proven experience in managing a finance team.
- Experience of Month End Process and Management Reporting.
- Experience of producing information for business cases or funding applications.
- Good team work skills with the ability to work with different and sometime conflicting agendas.

The Role

The Senior Finance Manager will lead the financial accounting, reporting and control activities within Mary’s Meals UK and to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with good practice. You will be responsible for the maintenance of accurate financial records, for the integrity of the accounting system and for compliance with regulatory requirements with regard to accounting records and reporting.

Principal duties include:
- Provide leadership, management and coaching to the Finance team.

- Supply all year end analysis and schedules to the external auditors as required in the Audit Deliverables document and to run the year end audit process.
- Prepare the Quarterly Income and Expenditure Forecast for MMUK for review and approval by Senior Management.
- Prepare the Annual Budget and all related analysis for MMUK for review and approval by Senior Management and the Board.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Charity, Company, and Taxation legislation by keeping up to-date with developments in accounting standards and recommended practice.
- Liaise with the Fundraising departments to maintain accurate records of restricted funding, and to provide financial information for grant applications and reports.
- Proactively manage the monthly cash transfer process to facilitate timely and appropriate transfer to Mary’s Meals International.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely production of high-quality monthly Management Accounts.
- Oversee the monthly payroll processes including supply of information to payroll bureaus and authorisation of payment by bureaus.
- Maintain and update employee information for online submission of Group Pension Scheme and other providers of employee benefits.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Mary’s Meals International Finance team and be responsible for the provision of necessary information.
- Represent Mary’s Meals UK at external finance meetings and events as required.
