Bookmark Reading Charity is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Marketing and Communications Executive to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about marketing and wants to make a positive impact through their work. As the Marketing and Communications Executive, you will support the marketing team in a variety of tasks, from creating content and social media listening to assisting with PR, events and campaigns. You will provide general marketing support to other functions within the charity, helping to ensure our message reaches the right audiences.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

• Assist the Digital Marketing Executive in the creation of engaging content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, blogs, and website updates. 
• Support the design and production of marketing materials, such as flyers, posters, and digital assets. 
• Help develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely communication.

Design:

•  Assist the Digital Marketing Manager in the scheduling and management of the Senior Visual Communications Officer’s design schedule 
• Organise, feedback and manage marketing briefs that come into the Marketing team from multiple support functions 

Social Media Management:

• As required, support the Digital Marketing Executive with Bookmark’s social media accounts by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and DM’s.
•  Assist in creating social media campaigns that align with broader marketing objectives.
•  Track and report on social media performance, providing insights to optimize future activities.

Email Marketing:

• Assist in the development and distribution of email campaigns, including newsletters, volunteer updates, and event promotions.

•  Monitor email campaign performance and suggest improvements based on analytics. 

Event Support:

• Support the Volunteers team by helping plan and execute events, both virtual and in-person, aimed at volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and awareness-building.
•  Assist with event logistics, including coordination with venues, vendors, and attendees.
•  Support the promotion of events through various channels to maximize attendance and engagement. 

Campaign Support:

• Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to drive volunteer sign-ups, donations, and brand awareness.
•  Work with the team to develop campaign materials and track their effectiveness.
•  Provide administrative support across projects and workstreams, such as managing campaign timelines, stakeholder communications, budgets, and reporting.

General Marketing Support:

• Provide day-to-day support to the marketing team, including managing enquiries, reports, updating databases, and maintaining records.
•  Collaborate with other teams within the charity to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with overall objectives.
•  Contribute to brainstorming sessions and bring fresh ideas to the table.

Person Specification:

Education:

• A degree in marketing, communications, media, or equivalent experience or qualifications will be considered. 

Experience:

• Some experience in a marketing, communications, or related role (through internships, volunteer work, or previous employment at a similar level)
•  Familiarity with marketing activity, management, content creation, social media and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark).
•  Experience in the charity or non-profit sector is beneficial but not mandatory.

Job Description​

Delivering the Philanthropy plan​

• Manage the philanthropy programme at Bookmark, working with the Head of Fundraising to grow the major donor and Trusts & Foundations portfolio within the wider strategy​

The Hummingbird Project is a youth-centred organisation that aims to provide trauma-informed services and promote youth-led action that is underpinned by our shared belief in human rights.

Our services support young refugees, between the ages of 14 and 25, many of whom arrived in the UK as unaccompanied children. The project is based in Brighton and works with those living in the city and across East and West Sussex.

We are looking to recruit an Immigration Advisor to provide tailor-made advice to individual clients and to engage them in the process of making informed choices about their future direction. This is an exciting role in our Immigration Team that will work closely with the team to ensure that the centre is able to provide confidential OISC Level 2 and 3 advice and representation, whilst providing support and training to colleagues working at Level 1.  The role is pivotal in providing highly skilled legal advice and representation to vulnerable clients across London at no cost to the individual. This is particularly important at a time where free or low-cost advice is becoming harder to find.

If you have the IAAS senior caseworker accreditation, you will be the key advisor with regards to Legal Aid work, including prioritising Legal Aid cases and ensuring that Legal Aid is used whenever appropriate throughout the team.

ABOUT SAFETY4SISTERS

Safety4Sisters (S4S) is a specialist Black and minoritised by and for women’s organisation based in Manchester. Our aim is to promote the human rights of migrant women experiencing a spectrum of gendered violence by providing a trauma informed, specialist, holistic and integrative programme of support to Black and minoritised survivors with NRPF. Support is underpinned by the following strands of services and activities; culturally competent advocacy, welfare and destitution support, a specialist refuge dedicated to migrant women with NRPF, therapeutic activities, groups and training, social activities, a helpline for both professionals and women, grassroots campaigning, and strategic advocacy.

JOB PURPOSE

 To provide information, advice, support and advocacy work on all  forms  of  gender  based  violence faced by migrant women,  including  forced  marriage,  rape  and  sexual  abuse,  honour  based  crimes  and  related  issues  such  as  immigration/asylum  and  no  recourse  to  public  funds,  matrimonial  and  children,  housing  and  homelessness,  mental  health  and  financial  matters.  Your  casework  will  focus  on  women  with  complex  needs. 

Please note we will also consider applicants that do not have significant experience in this sector as there will be training & development opportunity once in post.

 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide  a  professional  high-­quality  VAWG  advocacy  service to women accessing outreach support and to women residing in our refuge.

2. Undertake  casework  and  advocacy  (this  will  include  liaising  with  relevant  professionals  and  agencies  such  as  solicitors,  social  workers,  police  officers  etc.) 

3. Provide  practical  support  such  as  accompanying  women  to  appointments  and  courts,  making  reports  to  such  agencies  or  collecting  belongings  and  otherwise  taking  all  necessary  steps  to  ensure  the  general  safety  and  wellbeing  of  women  and  children. 

4. Write  assessment  reports  and  support  letters,  and  under  supervision,  help  to  collect  evidence  and  statements,  as  well  as  undertake  some  basic  legal  representation.

5. Undertake risk assessments for referral to the Multi-­Agency Risk Assessment Conferences  (MARACs) 

6. Establish  links  with  key  partners  [local  authority,  police,  health,  schools,  etc.]  to  ensure  effective  referral  routes  and  information  sharing  protocols.

7. Assist in the running of the Lotus Hub, including covering the Helpline when required and providing follow on advocacy to Lotus Hub service users.

8. Assist  in  developing  and  meeting  quality  standards  in  relation  to  advice  and  casework.  This  includes  administration  and  IT  systems  for  advice  and  casework. 

9. Assist migrant women to access immigration advice, and assist in meeting their housing needs.

10. To  undertake  campaigning  and  policy  work  arising  from  the  advice  and  casework  (this  may  involve  some  weekend/evening  work)

11. Where  necessary  to  assist  staff  in  organising  and  running  support  group  activities  and  consultations  for  women  who  are  isolated  and  vulnerable  due  to  their  experiences  of  violence  and  abuse.

12. To  publicise  and  provide  S4S  services,  and  attend,  contribute  and  represent  the  organisation  at  relevant  local  meetings  or  initiatives. 

13. To  support and mentor the Women’s Council.

14. Follow  S4S policies  and  procedures,  and  maintain  IT  and  case  file  management  systems.

15. Contribute  to  S4S  record  keeping  and  provide  information  for  monitoring,  evaluation,  policy,  and  research  and  training  purposes. 

16. Ensure  women  are  referred  to  S4S  projects  and  activities  as  required  for  example,  counselling or group work.

17. Be  self-­servicing  and  to  assist  other  workers  when  required. 

18. Undertake  any  additional  duties  which  will  contribute  to  the  smooth  running  of  the  S4S services  and  projects.

We are looking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Manager for our community based organisation based in West London. The Role

· Support the Shop Manager to maximise the income and profit of the shop through active stock management, replenishment, and rotation.

The Role

As our Deputy CEO, you'll support the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and be responsible for the delivery of programme, funding and impact strategies.

For over 35 years, School-Home Support has been working with children, families and schools to break the cycle of poor school attendance, low educational attainment, anti social behaviour, crime, low paid or no job, generation after generation. School-Home Support gets children and young people back into school, ready to learn. Whatever it takes.

Purpose of role

To work with families, parents, carers and the school to enable children and young people to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome the barriers to learning.  This may include working with the wider family and community.

Work Context

Based at Haberdashers' Abraham Darby  the SHS Practitioner will work from a child centred approach and primarily be concerned with developing and maintaining good working relationships with parents/carers, children and young people, teachers, head teachers and various educational support staff and other agencies. The workload is varied and is negotiated with the schools prior to the appointment of the SHS Practitioner.

Level of contact with children and young people

The responsibilities of the post require the post-holder to have substantial, unsupervised and daily contact with children, young people and their families and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. SHS will organise and pay for this certificate.

School-Home Support takes very seriously the duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Main responsibilities and tasks

Work with families
 

1. Work with parents/carers in a school context, supporting them and building their engagement with their child’s learning.

1. To design and/or facilitate a flexible range of programmes of intervention to support parents/carers of children identified as vulnerable.

1. To undertake outreach work which may include home visits, to offer a flexible support service in accordance with the SHS lone worker policy, in order to improve parental engagement with the school and with the child’s learning.

1. To act as advocate, mediator and negotiator in confrontational situations, maintaining communication with young people, parents/carers, schools and other agencies.  This will include initiating and participating in meetings to discuss and develop ways of resolving problems.

2. To provide targeted support on a one to one basis or for small groups with parents/carers, children and young people through either self-referral or school staff referral.

3. To advise and inform parents/carers about relevant local services and where appropriate to make referrals to other agencies.

Liaison with other agencies

1. To ensure effective communication between the school, parents/carers and external agencies and to understand the school’s culture and ethos.

2. To provide informal opportunities for all parents/carers to access specialist support in the school and local community to increase their capacity to independently support the child’s learning.

3. To act in accordance with SHS and the school’s child protection procedures and ensure the job holder keeps up to date with relevant training in this area.

4. To attend and contribute to child protection conferences, reviews, core group meetings, pastoral support plan meetings and school reviews as appropriate, which may support the Early Help Assessment (EHA).

Monitoring and evaluation

1. To keep accurate electronic daily records and all documentation pertaining to meetings/contact with children and young people and their families.

2. To maintain receipts and documentation of any expenditure in order to facilitate the monitoring of the budget. 

3. Produce a written annual report before the end of each summer term with case studies.

4. To take ownership and fully participate in termly work plan reviews and the annual appraisal to determine priorities both for the school and for SHS.

Additional requirements depending on the needs of the school

1. Where appropriate to provide transition support between secondary school and feeder primary schools and between infant school and junior school.  This will also include mid-term admissions.

2. To plan, prepare and run high quality, outcome focused informal and formal parenting groups, workshops and courses, in line with the project objectives and local authority Parenting Strategy.

3. To support parents/carers of children and young people identified as at risk of exclusion or having been excluded.

4. To monitor and track the attendance and punctuality of children and young people and work with families and School attendance staff to gain improvements though identifying and tackling underlying issues.

5. To provide targeted work with children and young people who have persistent absence.

Other Organisational Responsibilities

1. To attend out of hours meetings, for example parent evenings and school events.

2. To regularly attend local area meetings and conferences and other meetings or working groups for exchange of information and “best practice”.

3. To take ownership and develop a learning plan and review this with the SHS line manager to ensure reflection and development of own practice.

4. To ensure that good practice and equal opportunity principles are complied with and promoted in accordance with SHS values and Diversity/Equal Opportunities Policy.

5. To conform to health and safety legal requirements as laid down by the school and SHS.

6. To ensure that a high level of confidentiality is maintained in all aspects of working with children, young people and their families.
