Purpose of the job/about the role
Join our Community Fundraising team in this brand-new role to coordinate our growing Volunteer Ambassador (VA) programme delivering the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of Volunteer Ambassadors, ensuring they are equipped to represent our cause effectively.
As the Community Fundraising Volunteer Officer, you will be a a key point of contact for VAs, handling requests for their support from both internal and external sources. Collaborating with Community Fundraising Managers and Regional Fundraisers, you’ll build strong relationships with VAs, delivering exceptional stewardship and designing multi-channel supporter journeys in partnership with Regional Fundraisers.
You will deliver effective recruitment campaigns across various channels and coordinate the induction and training of VAs, both virtually and in person. You’ll also represent the charity at supporter events, networking and delivering presentations to inspire engagement.
Additionally, you will produce regular reports on marketing activities and stewardship performance, monitor financial and non-financial KPIs, and ensure accurate supporter database records in line with Dementia UK’s policies and processes.
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience in managing volunteers or a background in relationship management, with an understanding of volunteer engagement. You will have a track record of planning and developing projects, utilising databases effectively, and delivering impactful presentations.

Role overview

Responsibilities
- With an emphasis on High Value Fundraising, develop and implement a multi-channel fundraising strategy to grow and develop The Nightingale’s income stream including major donors, trusts and foundations, individual giving, events and corporate fundraising.
- Provide leadership and supervision to the fundraising team, setting income targets and delivering strategic support.
- Build sustainable, long-term relationships that align with The Nightingale’s fundraising priorities and the creation of clearly defined, measurable targets and KPIs.
- Develop fundraising tools and materials, creating bespoke, high-quality materials that resonate with major donors and support broader fundraising activities such as printed materials, e-marketing, and web-based materials.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising best practices, including data protection legislation and the Charity Commission’s guidelines.
- Lead the development of strategies and tactics to increase the lifetime value of existing donors, ambassadors and patrons, creating and engaging mid/high value philanthropy programme including supporting the delivery of a strategy for working with high profile individuals and influencers.
- Manage high-level relationships with major donors, ensuring their contributions are recognised and cultivated for future support.
- Identify new donors, influencers and ambassadors, working with the Board of Trustees and existing Major Donors to map and engage new networks to generate revenue.
- Research, develop and produce a range of bids to charitable trusts and foundations, and other appropriate organisations.
- Taking the lead to develop relationships with existing and new prospects with a view to growing the charity’s income.
- Understanding the motivations that encourage companies to give and to be confident in researching and identifying companies
- Managing all income streams, regular donations, bucket collections, one off donations and funds generated from third party engagement.
- Working alongside the Head of Marketing and Comms to create fundraising products and tools to help support our partners.
- Assisting with all levels of corporate administration, thank you letters, certificates, project reports, updating information via the database, website and social media etc.
Essential requirements include:
- Proven track record of delivering income targets of £100k and upwards.
- Proven track record of identifying, compiling and managing relationships with Trusts and Foundations as well as corporate partners.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written with a range of audiences.
- Ability to develop high quality, coherent and thorough fundraising proposals and pitches.
- Good attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Competence in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to work independently, applying own initiative.

Playing a senior role in our Impactful Campaigns department, you’ll help run and win campaigns that make the UK a better place but you’ll also be a key player in shaping the overall direction of 38 Degrees – including the culture, the team, and organisational strategy.
Day-to-day, you’ll be developing campaign and public affairs and media strategies and guiding teams to put those plans into action.
No one day will be the same: sometimes you’ll be responding quickly to a news moment and other times working on longer term projects and campaigns, often needing to change direction or reprioritise quickly and decisively.
You’ll be a champion of our supporters and come up with ideas and tactics – from digital tools like petitions, to media and working with external partners and allies – that will engage huge numbers of people, and allow us to make real change in the world. We need a campaigns expert who understands politics, the media, digital campaigning, partnership working and what it takes to win campaigns.
The Head of Core Campaigns leads the Campaigns team, overseeing and supporting the development of plans and supporting the team to run impactful, highly engaging campaigns, which aim to shape the country to be fair, respectful and sustainable; and the Public Affairs and Media team, to ensure that we’re taking every opportunity to show decision-makers our muscle and boost our brand and reputation.
Your background and experience
To succeed in this role, you’ll need excellent communication skills, sound political judgement, the ability to thrive when working at pace and to role model a collaborative approach. As you’ll oversee our small Public Affairs and Media team, you’ll know what makes Westminster tick, and how to influence politicians and journalists in every part of the country.
You’ll have experience of working in productive and positive environments, and you’ll have insight into how teams can be set up for success in a campaigning space.
You’ll be adept and experienced at project management, understand the pressures the team face working in a fast paced reactive environment, and be able to get the best of people in this context to help deliver on longer term, strategic goals alongside making the most of quick reactive opportunities.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to play a leading role at Cure Parkinson’s, as our Head of Public Fundraising. The Directorate
The Communications Team sits within the Marketing and Communications (MarComms) Team. The MarComms Team builds brand awareness and engagement among the public, builds our profile with the media and key stakeholders, and supports fundraising activities to generate fundraising income to keep the service running. The team also engages, motivates and unites staff across the organisation to help KSS deliver on its purpose and achieve its vision of an end to preventable loss of life from medical emergency.

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will manage a high-performing team of two staff: Individual Giving and Database Manager and the Communications Manager. Your key priority is to raise the income required as per the agreed annual income budgets for the organisation, managing all relevant income streams that include Trusts and Foundations, Events and Community, Corporate, Statutory and Overseas and Individual Giving. You are also responsible for ensuring that all communications messaging is strengthening our brand and engaging our supporters.
Finally, you are an active member participating in the Senior Management Team contributing insights and strategies that align with the charity’s development goals. CAT’s Fundraising Team is responsible for raising vital funds for CAT’s core and project work from individuals, trusts and foundations, statutory bodies and companies. This is essential for CAT to fulfill its charitable mission – to inform, inspire and enable people to take action for a sustainable future. The post-holder will play an essential role within this team, helping to steward, inspire and engage current and potential supporters and members.
Supporter care and fundraising co-ordination: The post-holder will be accountable for establishing stronger and more effective relationships with supporters and leads. The nature of this work may be tailored, to some extent, to the abilities and interests of the post-holder. Main Responsibilities
To provide supporter care services:
- To be the first point of contact for individual Giving and Membership related queries (by phone, email and post) and to respond to these or escalate to line-manager as appropriate.
To develop and support fundraising projects and programmes
- To write fundraising letters and emails and arrange in-house mailings if required.
- To help organize and run the annual CAT Conference, regular free webinars and other events if required.

- To export, import, and maintain data on relevant CAT databases and software as appropriate, both manually and through batch processing; to ensure filing is kept up to date; and to ensure data is stored and archived accurately and in accordance to GDPR.
- To carry out and record individual and bulk mail, email and phone communications, including thanking and welcoming supporters and members as well as tailoring bespoke communications where appropriate.
- To carry out and manage communications, eg. email, phone and post, including mailmerges, for welcome, stewardship, membership renewal and other fundraising needs.
- To submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC and update database records accordingly
- To process CAF, Stewardship, GAYE, Standing Order, JustGiving, collection box and other income, and managing relevant communications and maintaining records as appropriate.
To undertake other duties:
- To provide support for creative, analysis, insight and evaluation if required
- To respond to requests from the Finance Team as appropriate, including for coding information

The Role
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will act as a source of fundraising expertise in the Direct Marketing and wider development team, as well as the global Development and Marketing teams.
