About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Bedford Mental Health Prevention service for adults which aims to improve people’s mental wellbeing, raise aspirations and enhance confidence.
As Service Coordinator you will be responsible for implementing working recovery models and coordinating the operational plans for the service to ensure that people are able to manage their mental health, move through their recovery journeys and achieve positive outcomes.
Along with coordinating service delivery to meet its aims, objectives and Key Performance Indicators, you will also line manage the service Recovery Workers and lead on recruitment, onboarding and management of volunteers in the service.
Additionally you will conduct assessments of individual’s suitability for the service, leading on more complex cases and guiding people through the range of available interventions that can support them to achieve the outcomes that matter to them.
In addition to managing the day-to-day delivery of the service you will also contribute to the direct provision of the service by leading and facilitating group sessions where needed and by offering informal 1-2-1 mental health and wellbeing support that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps, be isolated and ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.
You will lead opportunities to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and to build links with local organisations and agencies.
You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them. SUN facilitators will have regular supervision and support in this role along with appropriate training.

- Managing and leading a portfolio of large multi-year Trusts and Foundation approaches working with senior colleagues including the Senior Leadership Team.

This is a full-time, permanent position which can be based in either London or Stratford-upon-Avon, with regular travel between the two for events and meetings. Following its successful relaunch, the Air Cadet Charity is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager capable of running the financial processes of this young and vibrant charity in order to help it achieve its aims of supporting and developing the young people of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Air Cadet Charity, until now, has had to rely on donations with a limited range of activities but Trustees have decided to expand our activities, diversify our income generation and build a capable, respectful and highly successful staff team. Although the Charity had been around in a different guise for many years this is our first year with employed staff and so the successful applicant will need to be capable of starting from scratch, designing secure controls and being fastidious in their record keeping.
The role will focus on all aspects of financial management from book-keeping to preparing end of year accounts and everything in between as well as liaising with the auditors. Our policy is to spend all that we earn and to dip into our capital if required. Annual expenditure and income is around £900,000 each year and our aim is to increase this to around £1,500,000 by 2029. The successful applicant will have tried and tested book-keeping and financial control and management skills gained through qualification and or proven experience.
The role will work directly to the Charity Director, will suit someone who is able to work as the sole financial management expert – although there may be scope to increase our resources as our ambition grows – and not be afraid of hard work and added responsibility. It will be primarily working from home with regular contact with the Charity Director and the Trustees responsible for finance.
Specific knowledge of charitable finance controls, policies and procedures would be advantageous as would qualifications in book-keeping, accountancy or other related area. We’re looking for a proactive team player, able to work on their own initiative.

They will support the delivery of several functions including: setting and monitoring of budgets, reporting of activity and funding across multiple funding streams, contribute to positive stakeholder engagement, oversee day to day financial activity and provide advice/guidance to inform development and delivery of our strategy and business plan.
There is potential for line management within this role as it evolves.
To fulfil this role, we are looking for someone who is passionate about ending domestic abuse. It is preferable if they have experience in providing line management support and supervision. They will have great organisational, analytical and adaptive communication skills. RSPB Scotland is looking for a Fundraising Manager to help generate and maximise income from external funding sources. The role is primarily responsible for raising money for work undertaken by RSPB Scotland, and as such the successful candidate will ideally be based in Scotland.
What's the role about?
We are looking for a motivated individual with relevant fundraising experience who will take the initiative to seek out new funding opportunities and create high quality funding proposals.
This role will have a particular focus on raising income from grants and charitable trusts but may require flexible working across fundraising streams. Therefore, experience in corporate and/or individual fundraising would be desirable.
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail are crucial to the success of this role, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and prioritise to meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate must also be confident in building and developing strong relationships, both externally with funders and internally with RSPB staff from other offices and nature reserves. This role will also include line management responsibilities.
Knowledge of the threats facing nature and our climate, and a passion to contribute towards tackling these issues, is required.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Proven, successful track record in securing five and six figure donations from grants and/or charitable trusts
- Excellent writing skills for compiling funding proposals and projects reports and claims
- Good numeracy skills, attention to detail, and ability to collate project budgets and grant claims
- Excellent understanding of funder motivations, funding processes, and the implications of funding packages and commitments
- Ability to work proactively, with minimal supervision, both within a team environment and independently
- Ability to develop good relationships across RSPB teams and with a range of funders and partners
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and short deadlines, and ability to cope well with change
- Persuasive verbal communication skills to influence and represent the RSPB to a variety of external and internal audiences
- Ability to work with other organisations and manage collaborative funding proposals, as well as work independently and manage own workload
- Experience in managing line reports, providing guidance, support and performance management
- Experience in recording income and donor communications on a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Competent user of Microsoft Office

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a full-time permanent basis.
As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Leicester Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.
Location: Unit 5 Sturdee Road Neighbourhood Centre, Sturdee Road, Leicester, LE2 9DA
Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to work 5 days out of 7 (total of 35 hours per week) on a rota basis which will include weekend and bank holiday working.
Please note the role will include moving high volumes of stock on a daily basis.
Some but not all key responsibilities are:
- Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
- Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
- Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
- Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
- Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
- Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
- Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.
- Ensure all financial, cash handling and security procedures are adhered to as per the Barnardo's Manager's Manual and the relevant Retail procedures.
- Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.
Ideal Candidates Must Haves:
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Experience of managing people
- Ability to liaise and respond to a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
- Ability to meet the needs of customers on a face-to-face basis, in order to generate sales and increase customer usage of the shop.
- Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply up to four figures in order to maintain budgets and complete accurately weekly income/banking sheets.
- Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
- Proven experience of meeting targets and KPI's.
- Basic IT skills.
The Retail section consists of more than 700 Barnardo's shops across the UK. These high-street stores are reliant on donations from the public and corporate supporters,and generate funds from the sale of these donated items.
