Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)
Working Pattern: 30 hours per week (4 weekdays)
Contract: Fixed Term (until March 2025, with possible extension)
Location: Edenfield Centre, Prestwich, Manchester M25 3BL. Possible additional locations in the local area.

The salary, pro rata, is as follows:
For an unqualified advocate: equivalent to a full time post of £23,920 gross, which equates to £19,136 actual gross salary working four days per week.  
For a qualified advocate: equivalent to a full time post of £26,000 gross, which equates to £20,800 actual gross salary working four days per week.

About the Role

The post holder will support vulnerable patients within the Adult Forensic and Acute Adult Services of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, with scope to work with patients at various stages of their treatment and rehabilitation. Please note that this role requires physical presence at the hospital.  Appointment will be subject to risk assessment. 

The successful, dynamic candidate will have:

• Experience of providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy, or having worked in a related field, to a high standard.  Relevant skills and experience from backgrounds other than Advocacy can be built on.
• The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals and service-users.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as being adaptable to the needs and abilities of others.
• A working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, relating to both the civil and forensic sections of the Act and other associated legislation. As a minimum, a general understanding is required, with a willingness and an ability to expand on this once in post.

Required experience: Working within Advocacy or a Related Field for at least 1 year 
Desirable experience: Holding the National Advocacy Certificate Qualification

Job Summary

To be the initial point of contact for customers accessing Huddersfield Mission services. To provide initial stage advice and assistance on a variety of needs. To work within the Advice Team to ensure the smooth running of Huddersfield Mission’s drop-in service, responding to requests for advice and support to customers and triaging them to the correct team member for support.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for clients referred in to the service, ensuring that comprehensive impact and risks assessments are completed and a tailored response to each client’s needs is provided.
• To ensure the effective delivery of the Mission advice drop-in, telephone support service and appointments service
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service
• To make onward referrals and signpost where appropriate to other sources of help, such as statutory and non-statutory agencies
• To work with our Community Champion and other health partners to support customers underlying health needs particularly where these might be addressed with community-based intervention.
• To ensure impartiality and confidentiality when dealing with customers
• Regularly update electronic case records using our Lamplight – our CRM system to enable continuity of casework, monitoring and information retrieval.

About the role:

You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.

These roles are based in our Victim Care Unit in Ashford. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or 12pm and 8pm. Shifts are designated on a rota basis and scheduled well in advance so you can plan ahead. The "Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM)" service provides evidence-based mental health support to school- and college-aged Children and Young People, staff, young adults, families, and other professionals within the London Boroughs of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM) is a non-clinical, mental health and wellbeing offer delivered by HFEH MIND Youth Services. BK2YM’s non-clinical interventions and psychoeducation programme (Learn Well) offers a multitiered level of support:

• Preventative and early intervention for children and young people aged 5 – 25 through HFEH Mind Psychoeducation Workshops and assemblies.
• Training for school staff and other professionals.
• Therapeutic Arts intervention (x6 sessions) for students.
• Access to a digital support tool (self-help): WYSA.
• Access to wider digital/online support tolls (Including My Mind TV).

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of Be Kind to Your Mind interventions across schools, colleagues and alternative education.
• Delivering whole school/year group assemblies and ‘drop-down days’ to educational establishments within the defined area(s) of operation.
• Facilitation with targeted outreach to H&F SENCO's/AP's, adapting content for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in collaboration with Educational Psychologists.
• Ad-hoc creation of bespoke content to complement existing materials.
• Creation and delivery of education staff workshops based on provided training needs assessment form submissions.
• Outreach to schools/organisations, maintenance of Learn Well bookings.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

• An undergraduate Psychology degree (or equivalent) that confers British Psychological Society’s Graduate Basis for Chartered membership (GBC).
• Understanding of the impact of social inequalities and how this relates to mental health.

AllChild (formally West London Zone)  is a non-profit organisation that proactively works with children and their families to flourish socially, emotionally and academically through our tailored Impact Programme.

Working with schools, we identify and support children and young people before the need for crisis intervention, connecting them to the help they need through our trusted adult, the Link Worker.

Our Associate Link Worker/Link Worker is based in the school with the children and young people they are working with on our programme. They work directly with the children, their families, their teachers and our partners to design and facilitate a two-year Impact Programme of support and champion the children and young people along the way.

Since our launch in 2016, our Impact Programme has helped thousands of children and young people at the tipping point of need. 75% are no longer at risk in their emotional and mental wellbeing, two thirds improved their grades, and 90% of schools renew after the first programme, noting ‘transformational or significant positive impact’ for the children and the wider school environment.

The evaluation team works with schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. This includes helping our partners to design high-quality research projects, delivering them, and providing systems and tools for data collection, reporting and impact benchmarking.

The Opportunity

The School Engagement Coordinator is a new role working across ImpactEd Evaluation. The role will work directly with schools to deliver national research projects, support their onboarding to our School Impact Platform, and lead communications and data collection for our partnerships. The role would be a good fit for someone with experience or interest in the school sector and research and evaluation.

Day to day your role is likely to be a mixture of:

• Supporting new schools we are working with through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring progress
• Working with school leaders and teachers to implement research in their setting - for example on projects like our Understanding Attendance research
• General support for partnership delivery and administrative tasks working with different team members
• Standardised reporting and data analysis – this will require good attention to detail and working with Excel and MS Office Suite

About You

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others, and we are open to a range of backgrounds:

• Understanding and experience of the UK education system
• Experience of working within an administrative or customer service/partner focused role

About the role:

This role is based in our Islington office with the flexibility of hybrid working. As a Children & Young People's Caseworker, you will:

• Conduct needs and risk assessments to ensure each CYP receives an individual support package that meets their needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support.
• Provide one to one support to children & young people living in families affected by domestic abuse, managing a caseload of approx. 12-15
• Regularly review the assessment of risk ensuring appropriate action is taken, making referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes
• Consult & involve children & young people in making decisions about themselves & service developments
• Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, attending meetings as required

You will need:

• Experience working directly with vulnerable children & young people aged 4 - 17, on a one to one basis, with a proven ability to engage these clients through creative & appropriate methods

Purpose of Post

This is a position offering someone with the appropriate values and experience, the opportunity to play a pivotal part in our small HR team (Head of HR and Senior HR Coordinator). As an HR Support Assistant we would expect you to have a strong customer service focus with a remit of providing high quality and accurate effective HR administration service relating to the recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes and procedures. This role is part of first line HR support for a current headcount of 165 employees.

Key Responsibilities

• To work closely with the team and deliver a high quality and confidential administrative process from recruitment throughout the employee journey at Herts Mind Network.

The CGD Society is the primary resource for individuals facing a CGD diagnosis, offering essential information and support to families throughout their CGD journey. Key responsibilities

Community Fundraising 

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase income through regular giving, donations, campaigns, legacy giving, corporate partnerships, and other fundraising initiatives. 

• Promote participation in major sporting and challenge events. 

• Provide supporters with the necessary materials and motivation to maximize their fundraising efforts for the CGD Society.

Digital Marketing

Person specification
