The Role
As CEO, you will report directly to the Board of Trustees and hold overall responsibility for the leadership, strategy, and administration of the charity. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of GMYF by:
- Overseeing the development and expansion of new clubs and services across Greater Manchester, including planning and executing the build of our new community centre and additional youth centres, ensuring they are equipped to meet the needs of the young people we serve.
- Driving the growth and success of our residential services and outdoor activities. You will ensure that our offerings comply with all relevant safety and educational standards, while working towards specific participation growth targets, including establishing a Gold-level Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) group.
- Maximising the use of our Ormside Mill Residential Centre, promoting it as a hub for outdoor education, affiliated club activities, and residential trips, while encouraging affiliated clubs to take an active role in organising their activities at the centre.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with local authorities, council members, and community stakeholders, as well as acting as a public representative for GMYF to enhance our profile and secure additional funding and partnerships.
- Ensuring robust governance, financial sustainability, and compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks while actively engaging in fundraising initiatives to support our growth objectives.
- Your ability to inspire and engage others will be crucial as you lead the organisation through this exciting period of expansion.
About You
We are seeking a candidate who combines strategic leadership with hands-on management experience, ideally within youth services or a related field. You will be a proactive leader, capable of developing and delivering long-term plans while remaining ready to "roll up your sleeves" and engage with the community when necessary.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience in a senior management role within youth services, outdoor education, or a similar sector, to include service development.
- A proven track record in leading organisational change, motivating teams, and fostering a positive culture.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, ensuring financial sustainability, and driving fundraising efforts, particularly in a charity setting.
- In-depth understanding of charity governance, regulatory requirements, and compliance, with the ability to navigate the complexities of public sector partnerships.
- Experience working with Boards of Trustees, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring effective governance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and represent GMYF with gravitas in the local area.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

The Supporter CRM and Data Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of the hospice’s supporter data and income operations strategy and developing annual delivery plans, including strategic planning and management of the Fundraising team’s supporter CRM, data insight and income operations function. You will develop, manage and review processes and procedures for all fundraising income and data across on and offline platforms and ensure all income and supporter data is processed accurately, in a timely manner and in line with Hospice policies and service level agreements.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of CRM database management and developing and maintaining database processes and procedures. The River Thames Boat Project are now looking for a Fundraising Manager to raise the funds to enable them to run cruises and education days on the Thames.
As Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for growing the charitable income across all streams (grants, foundations, corporate sponsors), maximising members program, establishing a sound data base for fundraising and establishing a volunteer fundraising committee. You will develop and execute a fundraising plan and develop strong relationships with prospective and existing funders. You will research potential trust and foundation funders, write compelling bids and ensure effective reporting and stewardship. You will also be responsible marketing the charity to prospective clients through mailings, social media and other routes.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in raising income for small to medium size charities from multiple sources with a specific focus on trusts and foundations
- Self - motivated and pro-active with great interpersonal skills to work with staff members, volunteers, trustees, and external funders from individual to corporate donors.

The Supported Housing Operations Manager (Homelessness) will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of several supported housing schemes designed for individuals experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantages. This role is critical in ensuring that the services provided are psychologically and trauma-informed, aligned with the Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM) principle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the performance and management of services, including supported housing and community-based outreach/support services.
- Ensuring budget control and the provision of high-quality, appropriate support.
- Adhering to policy/procedures, health & safety, and risk management protocols.
- Supporting service development, including taking the operational lead in developing new services and transforming existing ones.
- Collaborating with Scheme Managers to ensure team meetings effectively address key operational issues.
- Developing and reviewing annual plans for services in alignment with the Supported Housing department’s strategic objectives.
This position is part of the middle management team and involves direct management of two scheme managers, focusing on promoting a trauma-informed and psychologically sensitive approach to service delivery.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of developing formal relationships with other organisations, experience of developing operational procedures, experience of safeguarding adults and responding to safeguarding concerns and currently hold or willingness to study to NVQ Level 5 Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent.

As Service Manager, you will oversee and support a dedicated team of frontline workers, supporting beneficiaries with a range of physical and learning disabilities. You will manage the service from a practical, logistical perspective, and will liaise with a variety of health professionals, as well as with the local authority. The Service Manager role offers a first step into a management career for those with great experience within housing and social care; successful candidates will be placed onto a management programme and also offered the opportunity to complete recognised qualifications. Our client’s homeless shelter provides emergency accommodation for up to 12 single homeless people in St Albans each night.; their dedicated staff team offer a trauma-informed, safe environment which is person-centred and supports beneficiaries to access the help they need. As Service Manager, you’ll support your team and be responsible for overseeing support, advice and assistance to beneficiaries who are/have been living on the streets so that they are able to access and maintain a safe and secure home of their own.
