We are looking to appoint a Fundraising Officer to join our highly successful fundraising team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in both fundraising and in the third sector. The role will provide vital support across our Fundraising Team, ensuring you develop the key skills required to become a successful fundraising professional in the years ahead.

The charity is in a period of rapid growth and will see our annual fundraising requirement increase from £12.5m to over. 
£16m per year, over the next three years. To achieve this we are adding capacity to the team to ensure we maximise the 
opportunities available within the university, corporate and philanthropic community. We have a remarkable track record in
securing major gifts from a diverse range of funding partners and this role will be key to ensuring we achieve our  fundraising targets.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. Our Head Office team is based on the site of our North Kensington centre in West London. Our Head Office team works in-person 4 days per week with 1 day from home.

What to expect in a fundraising role?

The Fundraising Officer role is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same.

A typical day will have different meetings, priorities and team projects. Corporate and University partnerships often involve supporting several different areas of a business or university with varying content, ideas and stewardship, including hosting supporters at our learning centres. Each fundraising area meets regularly to discuss challenges, new ideas and improvements, and the broader fundraising team meets monthly to reflect on progress to date and plan for the rest of the year ahead.

This role will also involve working with colleagues at our centres across the UK to organise workshops that are hosted and/or supported by our corporate and university partners, getting to know our different teams and helping thousands of young people to access vital learning and skillset opportunities each year.

About the role:

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals.

This role involves both face to face and virtual support. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office in Old Street and in co-location at Northwick Park Hospital.

As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
• Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
• Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

You will need:

Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse.
Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

This is a new role, working in a dynamic charity built on the aim of improving life for local people. We are a small, passionate team driving programmes to meet our community’s needs in North Kensington.

You will be responsible for overseeing Dalgarno Trust’s Programmes, and line managing our Community Champions Manager, Health Works Manager, Foodbank, Volunteer and Room Bookings Manager and Youth Programme Manager. 

Purpose of the job:

• To maintain effective oversight of the delivery of a range of projects and programmes being managed by designated managers.

Service delivery management

• To keep abreast of key performance indicators expected to be measured and evidenced for each of the projects and programmes and keep under constant review the need for adjustments in processes to be able to achieve expected performance.
• To use Salesforce for monitoring and evaluating project outputs, outcomes, and impact for reporting to funders, including internal and external stakeholders.

Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. The team design and help implement behaviour modification and training plans for dogs whilst coaching members of the canine care groups through the practical day-to-day steps. They also assist with behavioural and welfare assessments of animals who come into our centres and are on hand to help manage and provide further support with dogs with more complex behavioural needs. The team provide support to dogs during their stay at Battersea, and are also available for continued advice after rehoming.

We are now looking to recruit a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor for our team in Old Windsor. Within this role, you will work with our operational teams in the assessment and welfare of the dogs in our care and in the provision of behavioural training and advice for staff, volunteers, customers and external organisations. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

Digital Storyteller

Salary: £28,701 per annum - FTE (35 hours per week)

Combine your passion for nature with your digital skills! We’re looking for a talented communicator who can tease out stories from across the Trust and turn them into compelling social media content. You might be out and about across Cumbria, gathering content at our sites and with project teams, or in the office putting together videos and infographics.

You’ll need a strong understanding of the social media landscape and an ability to select and tailor content for different channels, finding ways to increase supporter engagement and reach diverse audiences. You’ll also be great at explaining your ideas – from the serious to the silly – and getting people involved.

Our ideal candidate is a first-rate copywriter with confident photography and videography skills. You’ll need to have experience with video editing and graphic design tools, and plenty of creative energy to keep our content fresh.

You’ll work closely with our Digital Engagement Officer and will have access to a training budget to help improve your skills.

• Planning and creating content for our social media channels, to support the Trust’s objectives and communication strategies.
• Liaising with staff from across the Trust to understand the scope of our work and ensure that project communication requirements are fulfilled.

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.

As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand.  This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.

We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community.  It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications.  You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.

The role can, to some extent, be shaped by the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but it is likely to include the following responsibilities.

 Key Responsibilities

• Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
• Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
• ​​External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
• Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.
• Fundraising innovation: assisting in the development of creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings.
• Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database and contributing to fundraising budgets and forecasts.

• Manage our global induction approach, creating and updating guidance and resources to support a consistent induction experience for all WaterAiders at a local level.

The Trust and Corporate Prospect Researcher is a new role and part of the fundraising team for Brain Tumour Research.

The Prospect Researcher will help create a funding pipeline so the charity can maximise income by identifying prospects with an ability to give so the fundraising team can make productive approaches to increase partnership fundraising from both charitable trusts and corporates.

Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with our existing database (Thank Q), and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way.
