CYP Group Facilitator – Early Help Digital Intervention Service (Children and Young People)

Salary: £23,250 – £24,500 per annum incl. Outer London Weighting, pro rata
Hours: 37.5hrs – to be worked flexibly across a 7-day week, between the hours of 2pm – 10pm, excluding bank holidays
Contract Length: Fixed Term – April 2025 (with possibility to extend)
Working base: Watford Wellbeing Centre (expectation of working flexibly in our centres across Hertfordshire and from home)
Reports to: CYP Coordinator – Early Help Digital Intervention Service (Children & Young People)
As a CYP Group Facilitator, you will provide online group interventions to deliver this new and exciting, high quality service in accordance with contractual requirements, and ensure that we are supporting the needs and aspirations of Hertfordshire families.
About the Service
Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) delivers Hertfordshire’s CAMHS Early Help Digital Intervention Service, With YOUth. The CYP Group Facilitator will be responsible for implementing and delivering the group support aspect of an innovative partnership between BfB Labs and HMN.
Together, we will provide a countywide early help digital intervention service that is accessible to children and young people and their families, aged 5-18, at the earliest point of an emerging emotional wellbeing and/or mental health need. The service will operate between 14:00 – 22:00 seven days a week.
About the Role
Our trauma-informed model offers a range of support options for CYP, based around digital interventions and supported by one-to-one and group sessions, so children and young people can engage in the way that works best for them. The service will build resilience in CYP by working with them to develop coping strategies and solutions that will enable them to improve their own health and wellbeing. We will also provide advice and guidance to parents/families/carers and professionals to provide a holistic response to supporting CYP and creating a network around them to empower and enable positive change.
The objectives of the With YOUth Digital Intervention Service are to:
- Promote resilience and strategies that encourage coping and self-management for CYP, enabling a reduction in referrals to more specialist provision.
- Increase the number of CYP who access evidence-based mental health interventions.
- Ensure more CYP in Hertfordshire have improved awareness and knowledge about emotional wellbeing and mental health.
- Develop an early intervention pathway for children and young people to enable individuals to get timely, responsive support aligned to their needs.
- Reduce waiting times for CYP MHS by providing a timely and effective early help service.
- Help parents and carers to better support their CYP through access to relevant, clear and accessible information about mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide a safe and secure online environment for CYP.
- Reduce the number of CYP experiencing a relapse in their mental health.
- Contribute to the de-stigmatisation of mental health and emotional wellbeing.
We offer:
- Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)

You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the events team in the planning, coordinating, administration and delivery of World Jewish Relief events including our flagship Annual Dinner.
- Managing and leading on the planning of smaller engagement and fundraising events both in person and online.

- Liaising with colleagues and partners to organise supporter Insight Trips: creating itineraries, booking transport and managing all details.

You should have:
- Proven experience in event planning, coordination and delivery to a high standard, preferably within the non-profit sector.

- Experience using a database (ideally Raiser’s Edge) to the highest level, both to record and analyse information.
- Experience in successfully managing numerous priorities at one time, meeting tight and non-negotiable deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Excellent administrative skills, impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.

Attendance at the Society’s office in Kensington, London is a requirement for a minimum of two days per week (usually Monday and Tuesday, but days may vary depending on event commitments) and additionally as required. This is a new role within our established Education Team, and it will focus on working with schools and teachers to promote geography as a useful and relevant subject to study, and provide guidance and support for school-based geographical careers education and progression through GCSE, A Level and on to university.
This is an exciting opportunity to take forward the Society’s work in this area in a new and innovative way and will involve extensive work across not only schools but also into higher education and the professional geographer community.
The role is ideally suited to someone with a good understanding of working with schools and teachers, who understands what teachers want and need from careers education support and can work effectively with external stakeholders to ensure opportunities are made available to all. This role will provide line management and support for a small team of Children and Young People (CYP) practitioners, each supporting a caseload of CYP displaying abusive and aggressive behaviours in their familial and other close relationships. The team deliver interventions on a one to one and group-work basis, in schools and other community based settings, to children and young people aged between 5 and 17. This role will include duties around co-ordinating, and supporting the team in delivering, those interventions.
The Senior Behaviour Change caseworker will also take responsibility for the initial triage and assessment of referrals, ensuring that they are then allocated to the most appropriate support/intervention according to their individual needs.

The post holder will need to reside in Sussex and be required to work from home permanently but willing and able to travel regularly to various locations across East and West Sussex. Breck Foundation
Breck Foundation is a unique and dynamic organisation that makes a real difference. The charity was founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. We inform, educate and campaign to help young people and the wider UK public reclaim the internet from those who seek to harm others through it. Our educational programmes reach thousands of students, parents and safeguarding professionals each year.
The Project
Over the last few years, the Breck Foundation worked closely with Volunteer Police Cadet Units in Surrey and Tower Hamlets to train cadets as ‘Breck Ambassadors’, equipping them with the training needed to talk in schools to their peers about staying safe online and the key signs of grooming.
We are proud to take this successful project further having secured funding with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC) to recruit and train up to 30 ‘Youth Ambassadors’ (for online safety) in schools across Sussex. The Youth Ambassadors will learn how to tell Breck’s story and empower young people with the tools they need to stay safe online. Working closely with schools to enable the students to become Online Safety Ambassadors for their school community, advocate for their peers and to be a voice of expertise and counsel. You will work with schools and community groups to generate impact through Breck’s story (on online grooming) and other important topics related to children’s online safety.
This flagship project for the OSPCC will launch in April 2025 (Coordinator starts in January 2025) and run for at least 12 months, with potential funding up to three years. We hope it will set a precedent for others to follow our lead and develop similar programmes for young people across the UK.
