ASH Co-op is a thriving tenant-managed housing co-op in Cambridge. We have two part-time staff and are looking for a focused, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to take the role on to cover for maternity leave to start from late September. 

This is a varied front-line role involving collecting rent and taking enquiries, including maintenance requests and applications for membership. It also involves monitoring budgets, some basic accounting and general office administration. You must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel and will ideally have previous experience of housing work, or a similar office environment.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To be responsible, with our other housing co-ordinator/s, for the day-to-day running of ASH Co-op in co-operation with the membership; deal with outside bodies on behalf of the co-op; keep computer records; maintain and develop office and financial systems; and provide administrative support for working groups.

REPORTING TO 
The Employment Co-ordinators, who are elected by the members on to ASH Co-op’s committee.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All tasks are to be carried out with the relevant Co-ordinators and Working Groups where appropriate.  As a volunteer led organisation, the Housing Co-ordinators will be expected to liaise with working group co-ordinators from time to time to agree how tasks will split between them.  A key responsibility of the Housing Co-ordinators is to provide continuity where volunteers are unable to do so.

The successful applicant will be able to work Tuesdays and spread remaining hours across other weekdays between 8am-7pm when needed. The core office opening hours are 9.30am- 5pm. This role is being offered on a 13 month fixed contract.

The successful candidate will be proactive with a can do attitude and combine these different elements to make a real difference and help grow the organisation.

Due to the nature of the work with our members the role needs to be carried out in person and is not suitable for remote working.

Salary: £25,618 per annum pro rata (salary will be 0.6 x £25,618) & 3% contribution to pension

Hours: 21 hours per week, including the core days of Tuesday and Thursday

This fixed term contract ends on 31st March 2027 and is renewable depending on funding.

Key responsibilities:

• Network across the borough of Wandsworth and South West London by visiting organisations and speaking to people with lived experience of mental distress and / or using mental health services and mental health professionals.

• To have a particular focus on reaching people we are keen to see continuing to use Sound Minds including young people, people from BAME communities, and LGBTQ+ people.

• To form ongoing working relationships with people who refer members to Sound Minds such as care coordinators, social prescribers, community mental health teams, local psychiatric hospitals, and housing support workers. 

• To lead the referral team at Sound Minds to ensure the referral pipeline operates smoothly and fits the needs of prospective members.

• To lead on the pastoral care of our individual members. Working with people to help resolve any ongoing problems around areas such as housing, finance, benefits, access to mental health services, having sufficient food to eat and referring and signposting them on to other services.

• Referring members on to other services and ensuring that the offers of Sound Minds are joined up.

• Leading group sessions to help individuals with their wellbeing and recovery journeys.

The Research and Communications and Events Lead is a key post in the Research Management and Impact Team at Marie Curie with the purpose of disseminating the outputs, outcomes and impact of Marie Curie funded research as widely as possible to a multitude of internal and external audiences. This includes taking the operational and communication lead on organising our annual Marie Curie Research into Practice Conference which has increasing international reach. This is an essential event in the Marie Curie research calendar, online, free and open to all, with the aim of communicating new research and evidence in palliative and end of life care to practitioners, policy makers and researchers in the field.

The post holder will communicate extensively with internal teams, such as policy, communications, fundraising and caring services and build and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders, such as funder researchers and partner organisations, to maximise the visibility and impact of Marie Curie funded research.

Solace’s Immigration service provides high quality immigration advice to survivors of domestic abuse who have insecure immigration status. The Immigration Service is a pan London provision working with women with insecure immigration status who have been affected by VAWG including sexually exploited and trafficked women.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced OISC level 2/3 immigration advisor/solicitor to join our pan-London Immigration service in Camden. 

As part of a team of legally trained advisors, you will be responsible for assisting women affected by domestic or sexual abuse with uncertain immigration status. Your role involves managing complex cases and collaborating closely with the team to provide comprehensive support to women as they rebuild their lives.

About You

You will have substantive experience in providing immigration advice and conducting casework, with the relevant Level 2/3  OISC qualification or equivalent (qualified solicitor)

 Please note only candidates with the relevant OISC qualification (or equivalent) and legal experience will be considered.

We seek someone who is with strong caseworker skills, with a commitment to keep survivors at the centre of service delivery whilst also delivering on service targets. You will have a passion for ending violence against women and girls as well as a thorough understanding of immigration law and an understanding of the barrier’s women with insecure immigration status face in accessing legal advice and support.

The International Co-ordinator supports the effective delivery of Wales Arts International’s activities, its projects and services. This includes the development of international information services, co-ordination of communication, correspondence and appointments. It also involves the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external meetings, events and conferences and participation in delivering frontline contact work with sectors in Wales and in international contexts.

The primary focus of this specific role is to provide a high quality administrative and support service to Arts Infopoint UK. It will work alongside the Arts Infopoint UK Officer, Arts Infopoint UK partners and the Wales Arts International team.

Arts Infopoint UK is an initiative to support the arts sector with information on practical issues relating to artist international mobility. Arts Council of Wales’s international agency, Wales Arts International (WAI), is leading the project in partnership with Creative Scotland, Arts Council England, and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

About you

You will have well developed IT and administrative skills, good communication skills and experience of supporting the organisation of events and dealing with people in events, conferences and other group contexts at an organisational level.

About the role: 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Grants Officer to join our dynamic organisation. During this maternity cover, Grants Officer will report directly to the Director of Grants, Contracts and Compliance. They will work across all of Internews’ geographies to provide the highest standard of grant management support to partners receiving higher value grants from us. The incumbent will have a unique opportunity to learn about Internews’ work and to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our missions across the World.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Management and Compliance

· Provide grant management support to Programme Management Units, country offices and partners. Participate in regional portfolio reviews.

· Support start‐ups of partner projects by coordinating project stakeholders and ensuring that all relevant processes and procedures are in place.

· Develop guidance documents and procedures to enable effective and compliant operation of partner projects. Supports project teams in adapting Internews’ standard sub-granting policies, procedures and toolkits to country contexts.

· Review and sign off on alldue‐diligence assessments in preparation for sub‐granting to partners.

· When requested, support project teams and the Business Officers, in monthly spend and burn rate reviews and donor report submissions

· Monitor the compliance from HQ to satisfy organisational and donorrequirements.

· Monitor the implementation of partner projects to ensure the implementation process is in line with grant agreements; and proposes solutions to implementation issues. Quality‐assure partner reporting, and track co-financing liabilities.

· Provide end-to-end management of partnership agreements, including drafting.

· Participate in project close-outs. Contribute to audit; support the audit manager on queries about sub-grants.

· Maintain records on the organisational grant management system.

Partnerships and Development

· Design and implement grant management and compliance trainings for partners and Internews staff.

· Identify and document best grant management practices from individual grants, works with M&E colleagues to coordinate debriefings with stakeholders.

· Advise development colleagues on key considerations relating to donor and statutory compliance requirements as related to sub-grants.

· Contribute to the development of partner budget proposals to ensure their appropriateness and compliance.

· Transfer grant-management expertise to country offices

· Support country office leadership teams to identify requirements and recruit grant management staff;

· Deliver trainings for key grant management staff in country offices and PMUs.

Expert advice

· Manage and develop the grants expertise at GC&C team ensuring the highest standards of grant management support to PMUs, country offices and regional and multi-country portfolios as required.

· Provide ongoing feedback to the Director of GC&C on required improvement and updates on donor regulations and contractual obligations to ensure organisational knowledge is built and improved continuously, with particular focus on the consistence and continuous improvement of sub-granting processes.

· Ensure good knowledge management across grants, including key project documentation, to enable all teams supporting the grant to access information and provide a fully auditable trail.

· Contribute to annual work planning and budgeting process.

Essential Skills and experience:

· Demonstrated experience in the context of international non-for-profit.

· Strong experience in the development and implementation of grant management processes and procedures.

· Deep understanding of rules of major European donors, including the European Commission, SIDA, and FCDO.

· Proven track record in conducting due diligence on organisations and their policies, ensuring compliance and alignment with standards.

· Proven track record in grant management training and mentorship for grantees.

· Comprehensive understanding of the setup, governance, and business models of non-for-profit organisations and media

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling clear and effective interaction with stakeholders.

The Role

The Mental Health Support Worker will provide flexible, practical, holistic, and accessible support to Gypsies and Travellers across West Yorkshire to improve and promote mental wellbeing. The provision will be based on the organisation’s values including helping people to help themselves and the organisation believes everyone is equal and can be included. 

You will be part of a small and dedicated mental health team at the organisation, contributing to its effective running through outreach and good communication with colleagues and members.  You will be working in partnership with other agencies in the field of mental health, the post holder will work to ensure increased accessibility to mental health support services, reflecting on and implementing best practices. The post holder will work within an agreed monitoring framework for the service and for the organisation.

About You

As Mental Health Support Worker you will need to live and breathe the charity’s values through your work and have the following experience/skills: 

• Mental health assessment skills including risk assessment and support planning
• Case management experience including managing referrals and case load to agreed targets and timescales
• Experience of working with people experiencing enduring mental health issues, mental distress and complex needs
• Experience of recording, monitoring and evaluation

Ideally, you will be a car driver with valid driving licence as the role may include meeting members, partners or external services in other venues in Leeds

The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has a single, clear vision: a world free of Motor Neuron Disease (MND). In the relentless pursuit of this goal, we are committed to funding research projects to accelerate the development of meaningful treatments, focusing on the projects that are most likely to impact people with MND positively.

The Director of Research is a key position in the organisation that leads our research activities, managing a small team as we invest in a prioritised and focused research portfolio. Working alongside the CEO and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing a research strategy that fits seamlessly with the Foundation’s vision, ensuring we have the expertise and resources required to support our programme and initiatives.

As someone with experience working in a scientific research role, you will have the ability to interpret, analyse and utilise research findings and developments, with a deep understanding of the drug discovery and development landscape. Our partner is a leading environmental organisation with impactful programmes in PNG. They are seeking a Finance Director to oversee the finance function; provide strategic analysis and advisory support; and to lead through succession planning and capacity strengthening within the country office. 

Responsibilities

• Financial oversight of the programme – this includes ensuring that there is a strong control environment across the HQ and regional offices, that policies and guidelines are properly understood and implemented, properly manage and account for income, and monitor banking, cash and cash advances and expenditure.
• Prepare and submit the annual accounts & statutory returns, ensuring that these are compliant with local laws and requirements.
• Financial management – creation and review of the organisational budget, oversee the monthly close and reconciliations, and prepare financial & KPI reports, and cashflow management.
• Grants compliance, management and reporting – supporting in budget creation for new grants proposals, monitoring expenditure versus grants income, ensuring that all project finance activities are compliant with grants requirements, providing financial oversight to sub-grantees, and preparing donor/grants reports.
• Undertaking due diligence on, and overseeing compliance and reporting from sub-grantees, supporting them with capacity building as required..
• Lead in the preparation of donor and other local audits, ensuring that the organisation is tax & legally compliant to the regulations in PNG.
• Assess and mitigate financial risks, safeguard the organisational asset.
• Coaching and building confidence and capacity of the local finance team.

Requirements

• A bachelors degree in accounting or finance; additionally an MBA or an accounting qualification is strongly preferred.
• Senior finance professional with at least five years of experience of leading the country finance function of a charity that is complex, both in terms of projects, but also portfolio of funding. Previous experience of working in a complex environment such as PNG is desirable.
• Willing to be hands on, alongside offering strategic advisory support.
• Strong technical accounting, financial management, reporting and grants compliance, management and reporting experience.
• Significant experience in the compliance and management of grants from institutional donors, including the US and European governments.
• Experience of developing a team, and building capacity of finance staff and staff in partner/sub-grantee organisations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated HR Systems Project & Implementation Manager to join a busy, friendly, supportive, HR team.  You will be responsible for the implementation of our clients new HR Core, Onboarding and Payroll systems, designing, configuring and testing of processes for seamless transition to the new HR system.

This is an important role for the Trust, and a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to deliver all three systems on time and in line with requirements. 

With proven technical expertise in HR technology implementation, configuration and data management (preferably IRIS Cascade), you will collaborate with HR subject matter experts to create streamlined workflow automation process maps to maximise efficiency and minimise disruption to users.  You will possess proven project management skills in system implementation, together with a sound knowledge of HR policy, processes and procedures and how these adapt to workflows in the system.

A strong communicator, you will be able to convey complex information to diverse audiences, together with experience of collaborating with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business, as well as external system providers.  You need to have experience of project management methodology to track progress and writing highlight reports for senior management. You will also have sound experience of payroll systems, preferably IRIS Cascade.

As well as advanced proficiency in IT and excellent MS Office skills, you will also possess an enquiring mind to identify user requirements together with strong organisational and time management skills.

You will be CIPD qualified and ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree in HR Management Information Systems, or Data Analytics but this is not essential.

About the role

The Finance Director (“FD”) will oversee the financial activities of the charity and will be responsible for overseeing the charity’s finances and finance team, driving financial planning and managing financial risks.

The FD will need to have the ability and confidence to apply judgement and leadership skills to make sure that the charity executes strategies and plans in a timely and thorough manner.

This is a 12-month contract starting Autumn 2024, ideally 20 hours/week, but we would consider other working patterns for the right candidate.

The permanent FD role is subject to a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian due to our ethos and the strategic nature of the role however, given the temporary nature of this appointment, we have removed the requirement, although still desirable. We instead are looking for a candidate who is sympathetic to the Christian faith and/or our ethos.

The salary for this role is £44,000-£50,000 (plus pension and expenses) full-time-equivalent, dependent on experience.

The role will be based at The King’s Centre in Osney Mead, Oxford, but will involve some travel around Oxfordshire and can also include some homeworking.

Key relationships

On a day-to-day basis, you will be working with a range of team leaders, including our chair of trustees, Executive Officer, Operations Director, church leaders, school principal, chair of The King’s Centre Limited, and the finance team.
