Engagement Lead Health Inequity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with those affected by stroke and those working in stroke, to focus on the health inequity that stroke survivors experience. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our leadership team in the South West – specifically Bath & North East Somerset.

Position: S11188 Engagement Lead Bath and North East Somerset Health Inequity project

Location: Homebased, Bath and North East Somerset with frequent travel within the Bath and North East Somerset area, however travel will be required outside of this area for team meetings or other work related meetings

Hours: Part-time, 14 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: Circa £17,512 per annum (FTE circa £43,700)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This project is a time limited piece of work.  We are initially recruiting for a 12-month period, with the possibility at the end to extend.

The Role

The project has recently been through the research and design phase and is now ready to implement a number of tests to address health inequities experienced by Stroke survivors following their stroke. The project exploration and design has taken a collaborative approach with our NHS colleagues, the Engagement Lead will continue with this approach.

Reporting to the Associate Director for the South West & Channel Islands, the Engagement Lead will:

· Lead and oversee the project tests, measuring the impact with an ability to adapt and flex as the project develops.

· Have responsibility for developing the project with a test and learn approach.

· Hold themselves and those involved to agreed timescales & actions.

· Have responsibility for management of the project budget.

· Lead the engagement work with the NHS & those affected by stroke

· Have line management responsibility for the project Engagement Officer

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

· Experience of working in partnership with other organisations, ideally in voluntary, health and social care

· Project management, delivery and impact measurement.

· Strong understanding of systems leadership and influencing principles.

· Knowledge of health and social care systems.

· Strong understanding of health inequity and its impact.

This role requires frequent travel across the Bath and North East Somerset area, with occasional travel further for meetings and training. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

PROJECT MANAGER
THE ABBEY OF ST EDMUND: A MILLENNIUM OF ENGLISH HISTORY IN WEST SUFFOLK

Thanks to National Lottery players, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, in partnership with West Suffolk Council and English Heritage, has received a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to conserve the Abbey of St Edmund ruins, deliver universal access through a network of footpaths, and build a heritage welcome centre within a line of listed buildings facing the town’s public space.

We are now looking for a Project Manager to co-ordinate and assist in the management of the development phase, which will last until February 2026. If we are successful in our delivery phase application, the role will continue for a further three years. We’re looking for someone with:

• Similar project management experience, at a comparable level of cost and complexity, especially working on Heritage Fund projects.

• Experience of working on projects with complex structures (we have three project partners: St Edmundsbury Cathedral, English Heritage and West Suffolk Council).
• A good understanding of audiences for heritage to enable activity planning and audience development to take place alongside the capital and design works.

Flexible working, but must be on site at least 2 days a week.

Xenia is a grassroots women’s organisation on a mission to create more inclusive, equal and welcoming communities. We deliver weekly workshops in London and Sheffield which support women from all backgrounds, ages, faiths, cultures and immigration statuses to share, connect and learn together. 

Participants are at the heart of the Xenia community. Migrant, refugee, asylum seeking, and British women come together as active equals at our workshops where we use the arts, heritage and power of conversation to connect, learn from each other and take part in local civic life. As an organisation Xenia is non-hierarchical and participatory, meaning decisions are made collectively and are proactively informed by participant involvement. The organisation is run by an Organising Team, made up of a small number of staff (currently 5) and volunteers and the trustee board. Key responsibilities

• Fundraising

  • Securing circa £130k per year from a range of sources. This includes submitting applications to trusts, foundations. It may also include maintaining major donor relationships, and establishing new relationships and leading on public fundraising campaigns. 

  • Developing other sources of income generation as agreed with the Finance & Fundraising sub-group

About the role

The Programme Manager will work in the Centre for Ageing Better’s Homes team.

Currently, millions of older people are living in homes that are unsafe – cold, damp, mouldy or with other types of hazards. The Homes team run a series of innovation, research, peer-support and influencing projects, that all seek to ensure that no one lives in a home that endangers their health, wellbeing or financial security. We work across local and national government and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.

The postholder would be responsible for collaborating with colleagues in the design, commissioning and delivery of a number of projects. The Programme Manager will use their creativity and experience to design work that has a clear route to impact, ensuring that everything we do has a traceable link back to the people we are trying to support.

The role will also require that effective programme management processes are followed to ensure effective, timely and impactful projects (e.g. milestone planning, budget management, risk, stakeholder engagement and delivery).

About you

You will be committed to trying to tackle the housing crisis, particularly for older people at risk of poverty, ill-health and facing discrimination. Knowledge of the current housing landscape and/or ageing issues would be an advantage but is not essential.

It is important that you can demonstrate excellent project management skills, designing and delivering projects that have a clear route to impact. Working collaboratively with others and experience writing and communicating complex ideas in an accessible way are essential.

You are likely to be overseeing projects that stimulate change at the local level through supporting service redesign processes, innovation practices and evaluation. Therefore, we are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience working with organisations to adopt new practices or undertake service redesign, and/or who have commissioned or participated in evaluations.

Position: Church Building Support Officer

Responsible to: The DAC Secretary. The Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC)

Location: Hybrid working is offered to all staff. We have an office in Old Alresford, SO24 with a requirement to come into the office for department team days, once a week.

The Diocese covers the areas from Bournemouth and Andover in the West, Southampton and Lyndhurst in the South, Alton and Odiham in the East and Basingstoke in the North.

Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time), core hours of 10am–4pm

Salary: £31,181 per annum

Annual leave and benefits:

• 25 days annual leave (not including bank holidays)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a National Advocacy Lead to join a dynamic Ethiopian team at a growing international development charity headquartered in Bristol, delivering transformational change for some of the world’s most vulnerable people, living on the frontlines of the climate crisis. 

We are recruiting for two Peer Support Leads: 

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to increase awareness of hepatitis C, reduce stigma, and promote access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. 

Do you have experience of working in drug services and with volunteers? Have you been affected by hepatitis C, or have you supported anyone who has hepatitis C? We are looking for a passionate and skilled peer lead who has excellent communication and organisational skills. We require a good standard of education and welcome creativity and innovation in all our work.  

Alongside a growing team, these posts will continue the development and delivery of the Hepatitis C peer project, recruiting and supporting volunteer peers across Bristol, and also Bath, Weston, and surrounding areas. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing in community settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care. 

These posts will require extensive travel across the region and it’s desirable the postholders have a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.
