Special Events Lead

We have a great opportunity for a Special Events Lead to play a vital role in an exciting charity’s Philanthropy team, reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy.

Position: Special Events Lead (Maternity Cover)

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term (1 year)

About the Role

The Special Events Lead role manages the organisation’s special events from start to finish, raising the visibility of the charity, building relationships with prospects and securing income for the Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Hospital.

They will be responsible for project management and professionally executing the organisation’s special events. Past events have included a fundraising gala for 500 guests at Trinity College, a private reception at a jewellery designer’s studio and a behind-the-scenes tour of robotic surgery at the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• You will take lead responsibility for the operational management and delivery of several Special Events, from dinners and receptions to larger flagship events.
• Create a portfolio of events that will engage a variety of supporters and prospects.
• Develop a yearly events plan for prospects and donors with consideration of cross-team requirements.
• You will manage relationships with volunteer organisers of major special events; not organising the events themselves but being the key point of contact and providing support e.g. income management, marketing support via the comms team, Gift Aid and best practice advice.
• Create detailed event plans with specific objectives and actionable plans, manage event budgets astutely and review whether each event met its objectives.
• Maintain good relationships with committee chairs and committee members where events are being organised by volunteers.
• Take the lead at events; briefing and supervising event staff and volunteers, ensuring that each staff member has a sense of authority and ownership for the successful outcomes of his/her respective areas, as well as the department and organisation.
• Acknowledge, thank and maintain up-to-date, accurate records on the organisation’s CRM database.

About You

As Special Events Lead, you will be educated to a degree level or equivalent of knowledge and experience with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of successful coordination experience. You will have excellent attention to detail and organisation skills as well as the ability to project plan, design and deliver briefings.

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills and are highly skilled in building relationships with different stakeholders. You will also be a great networker and creative relationship builder.

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way. 

This role sits within our Youth Impact Domain, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need it. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services around the country. 

Climb are an Prevention and Early Intervention Service for 10-17 year old's who may vulnerable to criminal exploitation and/or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. We offer 1-1 outreach support and access to positive diversionary activities in their local areas.

This is an exciting role within an established and expanding service across West Mercia. There are a number of varied, practitioner roles that are set to increase. We are currently looking for a Exploitation Practitioner to join our dynamic, ambitious team. 

This role will support young people at risk of criminal exploitation or entering the criminal justice system; at an early intervention level. This will be through 1-1, direct work and support in accessing positive diversionary activities, therefore reducing the risk. It will also require excellent mutli-agency work.

This role is for people with a passion in supporting vulnerable young people on a 1-1 basis, in raising their aspirations, building their confidence, working together with professionals to ensure the most appropriate, robust and holistic support is offered to meet each individual's needs. A key part of this role will be your ability to positively impact the lives of Children and Young people.

You will need to be able to engage with professional colleagues also, have presentation skills, and be able to bring people together around mutual goals.

Although the contracts are home based, there will be a lot of daily travel across Telford or Shropshire area. Although there is no specific office base, you will be part of a geographically based team and will be well supported by the management team and all of your colleagues.

 To provide employment advice to patients accessing ELFT NHS Talking Therapies, supporting patients to gain and/or retain employment via one to one information, advice and guidance sessions. This role is part of the national Employment Advice in NHS Talking Therapies programme and has been accredited by the Matrix standards for information, advice and guidance.

Role Specific

· Maintain a caseload of clients offering one to one support to help clients find, remain or retain employment. 

· Carry out initial telephone assessments and action plans using SMART goals to identify clients goals and barriers to employment.

· Offer a range of employment support interventions to clients that will support them to find, remain or return to work.

· Offer one to one sessions at least 1 evening per week where working hours will be 11 – 6:30pm

· Work in an integrated way with the IAPT clinical team to demonstrate a seamless service to the client. Co-location to different NHS IAPT services and centres across Tower Hamlets to offer Employment Advice.

· Support clients to create CVs, Cover Letters, write applications, inform clients of job search techniques, and provide mock interview practice.

· Provide 1-2-1 support to clients to enable them to return to work after long term sickness absence or other reasons

· Work closely with employers to support clients to remain in their jobs by negotiating reasonable adjustments at the workplace

· Work closely with local employment law professionals and trade unions to offer clients and their employers with information about their employment rights and responsibilities

· Manage allocated service project and work with the team to ensure referrals are received on time

· Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed on time, including questionnaires, reports and minutes for each client engagement and that these are regularly updated using the IAPTus (patient database system) and protocols.

· Ensure Caseload Management Tool is regularly up to date with client session information and targets.

· Signpost the client, where necessary, to other agencies who will be able to provide advice on benefits or support that the client may be entitled to

About the Project

Our Future Youth service provides one to one mentoring support, delivered face-to-face in the community for a period of up to 6 months (depending on the needs and goals of the young person).

This service is available to young people aged 12-18 who are living in East and North Hertfordshire (or attending a school in this area), who are experiencing mental health problems.

Service Objectives

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Future YOUth service are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people experiencing mental health issues in Hertfordshire.
• To provide high quality 1:1 face-to-face mentoring support, tailored to the individual and incorporating all facets of the young person’s life.
• To be a key service within the CYP MHS system, offering and increasing early access to community based help regarding mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Purpose of Post

The key purpose of this post is to be an integral member of staff delivering the Future YOUth mentoring service. You will provide 1:1 mentoring support for children and young people aged 11-18 who are currently facing mental health problems. Our mentoring service provides 1:1 mentoring support face-to-face in the community for a period of up to 6 months, depending on the needs and goals of the young person. Our mentoring approach is centred around combining practical and emotional support to aid young people in reaching their goals associated with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Your role as a Youth Mentor will be to meet young people on a weekly basis and offer 1-1 support aligned with their needs, building a strong working relationship whereby the young person is empowered to overcome the barriers they currently face. You will also build strong working relationships with the network of people around the young person (e.g. parent/carer, school, statutory professionals) to ensure the best outcomes for the young person and that their needs are advocated for. Flexibility is central to our mentoring approach and mentoring sessions may vary in their format depending on the young person’s circumstances and goals. We give young people choice in how they are supported.

Role Summary

The Operations Executive will join a small but rapidly growing team working at GH50/50. Within this role, and in close collaboration with the Head of Operations you will ensure high quality administrative support across GH50/50, setting the entire team up for success. This is a crucial role that will ensure that things run effectively and efficiently in support of our mission.

This is a brand new role for GH50/50, therefore we are looking for a bright, self-starter who can work with the Head of Operations to shape the role; providing recommendations to the organisation on administrative processes and own their projects from conception to delivery.  You will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity's administrative and strategic initiatives as we enter a new phase of growth. Job Responsibilities:

o Support the Head of Operations in the smooth and efficient running of the GH50/50 office.

o Collaborate with the Head of Operations to source and roll out a new organisation-wide management system for GH50/50, ensuring thoughtful integration into our current working practices.

o Organise the Co-CEOs calendars, including scheduling meetings and appointments.

o Support the Head of Operations to prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documents as required.

o Alongside the Head of Operations, maintain effective office management and administrative procedures.

o Manage and triage the organisational email account

o Monitor and update the organisation-wide contact database

o Ensure compliance with data protection and ethics legislation, including being up to date with GDPR requirements (training can be provided).

o Arrange and coordinate internal and external meetings, including managing calendars, conference call logistics, venue booking and wider meeting preparation tasks, preparing agendas, and minute-taking/dissemination of actions.

Role Summary:

Global Health 5050 is seeking a hands-on Head of Operations to support the professional running of the charity. The successful candidate for this post is expected to play an integral role in contributing to the growth of GH5050, as well as taking a leading role in managing the day-to-day and longer-term operations of the charity.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual who is able to switch seamlessly between strategic thinking and in the detail execution. Role Responsibilities:

● Support the leadership of GH5050 and the key organisational management decisions that need to be made for the effective growth and operations of the charity.

● Ensure effective internal communications by facilitating clear, consistent, and timely information sharing across all team members.

Person specification:
