Leicester Life Links is a mental health, wellbeing and recovery support service. We are a community-based service and we work to a recovery model. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a specialised service to individuals within Leicestershire who are aged 18 and upwards.

Right now, we are looking for an Employment Specialist to join our Surrey Employment service in the Talking Therapies team. We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment, we also support people to retain their employment when they are struggling at work due to their mental health. We also advise and support employers about mental health in the workplace. But it’s only possible with people like you.

Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate work experience placements with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with partner organisations, local employers and Talking Therapy teams and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.

As well as a good understanding of mental health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients, you’ll need excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and to work outside of office hours as required.

The post holder will have the ability to travel independently across a large geographical area within Surrey.

This is a temporary 12-month contract requiring the post holder to work 30 hours a week.

It’s an exciting time to join us. Oakleaf has a proud history of helping people across Surrey who are suffering from mental ill health. The need for good mental health support is growing, as are our funding needs and ambitions. This newly created position of Relationship Fundraising Manager is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative fundraising team as we look to develop major donor fundraising further.

The role will be responsible for overseeing all individual donor relationships, with a focus on major gifts. Blackpool Crisis Support - Sycamore House is a community-based crisis service, working to a recovery model with the aim to reduce the amount of A&E and Hospital admissions through evidence-based CBT interventions. Additionally, we offer a range of services for people with mental ill health to become more connected to their local community, building on their social engagement. We Are Survivors are looking for a Service Manager to come and join its Community Services Team to cover Maternity Leave.

The organisation has an ambitious strategy to ensure that #NoMaleSurvivorsIsLeftBehind and is looking for a special member of staff to help us achieve this, on a temporary basis to cover Maternity Leave.

You will help us to provide key services across Greater Manchester. The Community Team is made of therapists and Community Development Workers to support men and boys to access the services they need.

Role Purpose To manage specific services and teams, ensuring the provision of quality assured support services to male survivors and their loved ones. This role will be up to 12 months providing Maternity Cover to the existing Service Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To manage the operational and clinical duty of care for support services

• To maintain the safe and inclusive provision of spaces for all clients

• To provide Line Management, guidance and professional and pastoral support to all client facing services staff and volunteers

• To ensure that all services managed, effectively recorded, and identify threats and trends that will result in responding effectively to meet client’s needs.

This fixed term contract ends on 31st March 2027 and is renewable depending on funding.

Key responsibilities:

• Network across the borough of Wandsworth and South West London by visiting organisations and speaking to people with lived experience of mental distress and / or using mental health services and mental health professionals.

• To have a particular focus on reaching people we are keen to see continuing to use Sound Minds including young people, people from BAME communities, and LGBTQ+ people.

• To form ongoing working relationships with people who refer members to Sound Minds such as care coordinators, social prescribers, community mental health teams, local psychiatric hospitals, and housing support workers. 

• To lead the referral team at Sound Minds to ensure the referral pipeline operates smoothly and fits the needs of prospective members.

• To lead on the pastoral care of our individual members. Working with people to help resolve any ongoing problems around areas such as housing, finance, benefits, access to mental health services, having sufficient food to eat and referring and signposting them on to other services.

• Referring members on to other services and ensuring that the offers of Sound Minds are joined up.

• Leading group sessions to help individuals with their wellbeing and recovery journeys.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced mental health professional or therpaist to join our small team in Newcastle to support men in suicidal crisis. Our Newcastle centre opened in November and we need to recruit to expand our small of therpaists team to meet the growing needs of our service.

We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. 

The Charity

James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 2,300 men. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.   

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential Qualifications

 A Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker registered with NMC, HPC, BASW. 

Or

Therapists registered with IAPT, BACP, UKCP, BABCP. 

Or

Psychology Graduate with experience of working as a Psychology Assistant or extensive experience of working within secondary mental health services. 

Essential Knowledge/Experience

Demonstrable experience working with adults experiencing acute psychological distress. 

Demonstrable knowledge of the impact of suicide on communities and individuals. 

Demonstrable knowledge of social and other factors which could lead to suicidal thinking and actions. 

Demonstrable knowledge of the particular difficulties contributing to male suicide. 

Evidence of being able to deliver a therapeutic session. 

Effective communication skills (written & verbal). 

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult situations. 

Able to assess, plan, implement & evaluate therapeutic interventions. 

Able to work as an effective team member. 

Able to prioritise own workload. 

Self-motivated, uses own initiative and will make decisions. 

Good time management. 

Promotes people’s equality, diversity, and rights. 

Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Procedures. 

Knowledge of Service Governance and Evaluation.

Position: Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Office working at Cross Green Leeds and travel to other areas of West Yorkshire

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £27,412.50 per annum

Contract: 12 months in the first instance (subject to funding)

The Role

The Mental Health Support Worker will provide flexible, practical, holistic, and accessible support to Gypsies and Travellers across West Yorkshire to improve and promote mental wellbeing. The provision will be based on the organisation’s values including helping people to help themselves and the organisation believes everyone is equal and can be included. 

You will be part of a small and dedicated mental health team at the organisation, contributing to its effective running through outreach and good communication with colleagues and members.  You will be working in partnership with other agencies in the field of mental health, the post holder will work to ensure increased accessibility to mental health support services, reflecting on and implementing best practices. The post holder will work within an agreed monitoring framework for the service and for the organisation.

About You

As Mental Health Support Worker you will need to live and breathe the charity’s values through your work and have the following experience/skills: 

• Mental health assessment skills including risk assessment and support planning
• Case management experience including managing referrals and case load to agreed targets and timescales
• Experience of working with people experiencing enduring mental health issues, mental distress and complex needs
• Experience of recording, monitoring and evaluation

Ideally, you will be a car driver with valid driving licence as the role may include meeting members, partners or external services in other venues in Leeds

Training can be provided for the right candidate and you will receive a comprehensive and supportive induction. Support and professional development will be there throughout.
