Role Overview

We are looking for a talented fundraiser to join our small and supportive team. The Fundraising Officer (Trusts & Foundations & Events) is a new role to our charity and will play a key part in supporting our future plans.

UP attracts significant support from individuals, and there is huge potential to grow income from Trusts and Foundations with this increased capacity in the fundraising team.

In this role, with guidance from the Head of Fundraising, you will contribute toward income generation through researching and identifying Trusts and Foundations whose criteria match UP’s work, and developing compelling and inspirational proposals and grant applications. You will maintain the Trusts and Foundations pipeline, ensuring there is a steady stream of applications submitted to maximise funding opportunities, grow income and the number of multi-year grants.

While the primary focus for this role will be to grow income from Trusts & Foundations, you will also support the Head of Fundraising to develop the philanthropy programme. This will include planning and bringing to life an exciting and varied programme of events to support the growth of Individual, major giving and corporate support and shape exceptional supporter experiences.

Dad Matters is a PAIR (Parent and Infant Relationship) project specifically for Dads during the peri-natal period (conception to a child’s 2nd birthday). Primarily the project aims to raise awareness amongst dads, the wider community, and other professionals of the importance of:

• Fully involving and valuing fathers in the pregnancy and early parenthood journey
• Supporting healthy mental well-being of fathers
• Encouraging fathers to be attuned and responsive to their unborn and young baby’s needs, thus fostering healthy and positive attachment.

Home-Start Manchester already has a robust Dad Matters project offer running across the city as well as the ‘Universal offer’.

This role aims to widen the projects impact by reaching more Dads This will involve increasing participation in classes and events and delivering 1-1 support to dads referred into the service. The role will be supported by and be part of the wider Dad Matters team as well as being part of Home-Start Manchester. Responsibilities will include directing dads to appropriate services, offering practical guidance for baby preparation and care, bonding and attachment and providing empathetic support.

Weekly hours can be worked flexibly to support home/work life balance. Hours can be worked both in the office and at home, whilst meeting the need of the service. The role will require travel across all Manchester communities. It is desirable that applicants have use of their own car, for which expenses are paid. A DBS (Enhanced Level) will be required.

Mind BLMK works across our communities to support positive mental health and wellbeing. About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated person with a passion for volunteering and training who can aide in helping to build and sustain a solid and quality framework for the volunteering and workforce training provision at Mind BLMK.

The successful candidate will aide in the creation and administration of cohesive processes and systems for workforce training and in ensuring that Mind BLMK increases its engagement of volunteers, which will include establishing community links and supporting the organisation’s vision and values.

Key Duties

• Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and mapping of Mind BLMK’s current workforce training offer, helping to identify gaps in provision (e.g. through staff appraisals, supervisions etc.), evaluate alternative solutions and making recommendations for effective and impactful training pathways as needed for all staff and volunteers.
• Continue the ongoing audit of existing staff and volunteer training records and maintain the framework for storing and reviewing staff and volunteer training records.
• Monitor and develop if necessary the monitoring system that shows staff and volunteers are completing the training required for their role and taking action when gaps are identified.
• Manage the staff training inbox and coordinate the administrative aspects of the training cycle, such as scheduling, booking, invoicing, and reporting.
• Promote and support the value of volunteering within Mind BLMK and with external organisations.
• Continue to review and monitor all existing volunteer roles on an ongoing basis to ensure an effective volunteer contribution in line with contractual obligations where appropriate is maintained across all departments.
• Aide managers with procedures for designing volunteer roles, managing enquiries, applications, interviews, references, DBS checks and provide a supportive oversight of each candidate’s volunteering cycle.
• Support the induction of volunteers ensuring they are positively onboarded into Mind BLMK and understand the culture, values, and code of conduct.
• Ensure processes are in place for all volunteers to receive training and regular one to one support by the appropriate person.
• Facilitate and manage meetings with volunteers and project staff as appropriate.
• Be responsible for ensuring the volunteer database and administrative tasks, including monitoring, and recording in relation to these duties is kept up to date.
• Support the recruitment of volunteer trustees.

AIMS / PURPOSE OF THE POST

To ensure that services are delivered in accordance with appropriate clinical standards and protocols such as The Survivors Trust, BACP and any specific requirements from the Management Committee, funders and commissioners.

To manage the helpline service by ensuring that the helpline volunteers provide consistent support and an effective service on the helpline. In addition, to be responsible for facilitating the provision of regular supervision sessions, ongoing support and reflective practice, ensuring best practice and assessing the performance of service delivery.

To line manage staff members. Responsible for annual appraisals, ongoing monitoring of performance, identifying and providing relevant training and managing HR issues.

To facilitate the recruitment, induction and training of new staff members.

To identify and organise regular training and personal development opportunities for staff and volunteers.

To oversee marketing activities and the use of social media to promote awareness of Trust House’s services and increase engagement.

To research relevant funding opportunities and produce bespoke grant applications. Identify qualitative and quantitative data and extract relevant information from the database, Lamplight. Produce written progress reports to funders evidencing best practice and using collated data on project progress and outcomes.

To represent the charity with internal and external stakeholders, develop effective working partnerships with statutory, voluntary and other organisations and to undertake external presentations and awareness raising as required.

MAIN DUTIES

The Services Coordinator is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• To coordinate the effective delivery of Trust House’s clinical services;

• To produce and keep up to date all resources and best practice policies and procedures;

• To develop and implement The Survivors Trust service standards and procedures and to support all staff and volunteers to work in accordance with these standards as well as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework;

• To ensure the availability and performance of the required hardware, software, and other tools to support the organisation’s IT requirements;

• To establish and manage effective internal communication processes and on-going feedback opportunities to provide a supportive and responsive infrastructure;

• To line manage and support staff members and student interns;

Helpline management -

Robin Hood Avenue is a small mental health, supported housing service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.

Substantial experience of managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as is the ability to lead by example using a firm but inclusive management style. On 1st June 2024, Richmond Fellowship, part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence merged with Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. In October 2024, Humankind will be renamed to reflect the new Organisation.

The Junction is an out of hours “calming café” service which is open 365 days of the year to support people experiencing pre and/or mental health crisis. The aim of the project is to alleviate the need for people within the Swindon locality to access A&E and/or acute mental health services.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be providing a preventative, person centred approach to people accessing the service who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

The service is open from 4PM-11PM and there are positions available for part time hours and full time hours and  working patterns will include some weekends.

Due to project expansion Aquarius Young People’s Substance misuse team are recruiting for several Complex Needs Substance Misuse Practitioners across the county.

Aquarius has been providing structured and targeted interventions to young people engaging in, at risk of substance misuse or affected by parental substance misuse for many years.

You will work on an outreach basis, including visiting schools & colleges, the Children and Families service, the YOT as well as other local community agencies. The role will involve supporting young people away from engaging in substance misuse. You will provide young people with skills and coping strategies to manage their recovery journey, delivering 1-1 and some group work interventions, targeted outreach to engage 'hard-to-reach' young people and delivery of service talks and substance misuse presentations to enhance external professional workforce development with our partner agencies.

Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, most work will occur during the day, however as a young people’s service we may occasionally ask you to support out of hours sessional work.

Holding a relevant qualification in substance misuse/youth work/psychology/counselling/ mental health/social care or with relevant experience and willingness to work towards a Level 3 Qualification in Health & Social Care you will also:

• Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable young people in a community setting.
• Be able to deliver behaviour change support, including group work.

We have an opportunity available for a Young Carer Practitioner to join the team at Cheshire East Carers Service,  House based at Electra House, Electra Way, Crewe, Cheshire, CW1 6GL. 

Salary: £21216 per annum for actual hors worked (full time equivalent is £25,857.00).

Hours: 32 hours

Contract: 12 months fixed term with potential of extention

This role will require you to cover all of Cheshire East , therefore access to your own mode of transport is essential.

In the role of Young Carer Practitioner you will need to be passionate about empowering and helping carers with a range of matters on a one-to-one basis.

In this role you will provide values based support, advice and information to service users and carers ensuring they have access to practical and emotional support.

You will also assist carers to develop coping strategies, conduct home visits and carer assessments and provide information about mental health and mental heal services that are available to them.

In this role you will have a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of carers and their loved ones.

It’s important to note that you do not need prior industry experience or any specific qualifications to be considered for this role. On joining Making Space you will be supported step by step with on-the-job training as well as the opportunity to undertake professional qualifications if desired and required for your role.

Samaritans Scotland

Join a friendly, supportive, and ambitious staff team in Scotland. Our established Policy and Communications team is working with Scottish Government, MSPs and partners to achieve change and have an impact on suicide risk. There are around 1000 Samaritans volunteers across Scotland working in our 19 branches. These volunteers respond to calls for help every day of the week via telephone, e-mail, text and in person at our branches or at events across Scotland.

We also work with the public and the media to inform them about Samaritans and explain how we can help people find their own way forward. We reach out to groups where there is a high risk of suicide and emotional distress.
