ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of how Feedback communicates our work to help achieve our strategic goals. This includes centring communities, building our public profile with key audiences including journalists, developing our range of allies, reflecting our understanding of historical injustice in the food system, and fostering an experimentation and learning culture. As Feedback has recently rebranded and changed its name, this role will involve carefully managing the journey of embarking with a new brand.
This role would suit an experienced communications professional who is excited to think deeply about the way communications can support systemic change in the food sector. Experience with managing relationships with journalists and media outlets, identifying and pursuing stories, managing change, and contributing to organisational learning will be important.
Everyone at Feedback is engaged in our journey towards fully embodying the principles of an anti-racist and anti-oppressive organisation, and as Communications Manager you will take the opportunity to think deeply and act on these principles in our approach to communications. Feedback’s activities span communities/grassroots and policy/corporate campaigns and one of our priorities is integrating these two aspects of our work, so an understanding of the reality of working with communities, either professionally or personally, or a willingness to learn, is vital.
As Feedback’s strong media profile is a key aspect of our campaigning success, you will help build this profile and take an organised and proactive approach to identifying story opportunities from across the organisation.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for delivery, alongside colleagues, of two strategic objectives:
PUBLIC PROFILE
By the end of 2025, we will have good public visibility with frequent media impressions and a strong recognized brand, raising awareness of our work, and raising the credibility of our asks amongst diverse audiences
SUPPORTERS
By the end of 2025, a strong and engaged online supporter base will be integral to us achieving our goals through online actions and donations
Alongside this, you will be responsible for ensuring our work at Feedback fulfils our wider strategic objectives to:
· Centre communities in our policy asks, while building support for our campaigns amongst partner communities;
· Demonstrate our impact annually and foster a learning culture amongst our team to enable us to continually improve our effectiveness;
· Build relationships with a range of allies;
· Support Feedback’s journey towards our anti-racism objective.
These responsibilities will be met by:
1. Build and develop Feedback’s media profile (approx 30% of time) by:
a. Building relationships with journalists.
b. Identifying and developing new hooks and stories to pitch to the media from across Feedback’s portfolio of work. Pitching these to key journalists alongside campaigners where relevant.
c. Drafting media materials including pitch documents, press releases and Q&A documents.
d. Preparing colleagues ahead of media interviews.
i. Managing external PR support where relevant.
ii. Supporting key media moments alongside campaigners.
2. To manage Feedback’s brand and public profile (approx. 30% of time) by:
a. Overseeing our communications channels, working with other staff and external consultants to ensure our channels reflect the diversity of Feedback’s work and contribute to meeting our strategic objectives.
b. Fully deliver the roll-out of Feedback’s new brand and its application to every aspect of our communications work.
3. To manage the communications pipeline (approx. 30% of time) by:
a. Acting as a quality control and adviser on all communications outputs from across the team to ensure that form and content are as effective and creative as possible.
b. Thinking and experimenting with the application of our anti-racism and anti-oppressive work to our communications.
c. Managing sub-contractors as necessary to deliver high quality content in a timely manner.
d. Managing the communications budget.
4. Develop a learning system to continually learn and improve on how we do communications at Feedback (approx. 10% of time) by:
a. Monitoring and tracking impact of Feedback’s communications outputs
b. Identifying appropriate indicators which provide opportunities to learn about how we meet our strategic objectives through our communications.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential knowledge and experience:
· Extensive knowledge and experience of using communications to achieve campaign goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an exciting role for an experienced campaigner (5-7+ years) to lead the design, development and delivery of a new campaign exposing the food security, environmental, climate, health and human right abuses and global injustice issues linked to the production and use of synthetic fertilisers.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Working closely with the Director of Campaigns, the Executive Director and other senior colleagues, lead the design and development of Feedback’s new campaign on industrial, fossil-fuel based agriculture reliant on synthetic fertilisers, formulating robust and striking policy positions and campaign asks that will result in socially equitable outcomes. During your first three months at Feedback you will:
a. Create an internal knowledge base on key aspects of fertiliser production and use based on a comprehensive review of the relevant technical and scientific literature;
b. Conduct supply chain mapping and scoping on corporate structures, ownership and market dynamics;
c. Build a network of allies supportive of our core objectives;
d. Build understanding of the interface between the livestock and fertiliser agendas.
2. Project manage implementation of Feedback’s fossil agriculture/ synthetic fertiliser campaign, which we currently plan to launch at COP29 in Azerbaijan;
3. Undertake research and analysis and produce high quality written campaign materials including reports, briefings, factsheets and open letters;
4. Produce written content for Feedback’s social media channels (e.g. blogs, posts);
5. Monitor key market and political/regulatory developments;
6. Build strategic relationships with journalists and represent Feedback in the media;
7. Engage at senior level with corporate executives and institutional representatives;
8. Represent Feedback at external meetings and conferences to engage and influence decision makers;
9. Participate in civil society coalitions and build a strong and effective network of like-minded organisations supportive of our work;
10. Commission research and manage external contractors where required;
11. Track and evaluate campaign impact;
12. Manage campaign budget and provide updates on campaign highlights to donors as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential requirements:

Job Summary
We expect this role to focus on developing and maintaining relationships with key funders, stakeholders, institutions and individuals. It will undertake work to secure funding, resources and partnerships for both Shared Assets and the wider land justice movement, and to raise the profile and reputation of Shared Assets.
The role will have responsibility for securing core funding for Shared Assets from trusts, foundations and high net worth individuals, and for supporting colleagues to secure grant and commercial funding for consultancy, research, movement building and communications projects. It will have responsibility for reporting on core grants and providing quality control for colleagues for their bids, tenders and funder reports. As part of this work the role will play a key part in providing intelligence and foresight to contribute to the organisation’s strategy and business planning.
Beyond securing consistent core funding for Shared Assets the role will also work with funders and others to secure longer term resourcing of the wider land movement in order to deliver our collective ambitions for a just and sustainable land system.
As part of a self managing organisation all team members are expected to contribute to the day to day management of the organisation through participation in management circles, team days and working groups.
Main Responsibilities
Fundraising and resourcing

Develop and maintain relationships with funders to fund work that seeks to support common good land use and to create a more just and sustainable land system.

Work with the team to ensure we maintain a healthy pipeline of bids and tenders in order to meet income generation targets across the organisation.

Work with the wider land justice movement and funders to secure significant, consistent and long term resourcing for the wider land movement, working in ways that are open and transparent to, and inclusive of, the wider movement and which will help to deliver systemic change that meets our collective objectives for a more just and sustainable land system.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Strategic Partnerships team, working in partnership with Scottish Borders Council to facilitate a strategic approach to active travel infrastructure development and delivery in the council area, as well as providing support with active travel policies and proposals for the council's planning and pipeline projects.
As the Senior Project Officer, you will be working in partnership with external organisations and across council departments to identify and develop opportunities for investment in active travel. This may involve conducting assist research to demonstrate demand for investment in active travel infrastructure.
This role will involve regular travel most weeks. The focus of this role will be across the Scottish Borders Council area. We may occasionally need you travel further during the course of your work including occasional visits to Sustrans Offices and overnights stays.
About you
You should have experience in (at least) one of the following: transport planning, land use planning, urban design, traffic engineering, sustainable transport project delivery.
You will also be experienced in working with partners across various teams, and able to build strong working relationships.

The Role
They are looking for a technically minded management accountant with an interest, or experience, in the renewable energy sector. This new post will take on a range of responsibilities within a successful and growing community business, including financial reporting, financial planning, debt financing and budget management. We are a small organization with a culture of ‘can do’ and everyone mucking in. We currently do not have a fundraising team but anticipate the Head of Fundraising will build such a team on the back of increased income generation.
Your role: In this role, the fundraiser will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to identify fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, the fundraiser will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the Commonwork Trust closer to its financial goals.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organised with a strong track record of successful fundraising. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of the Commonwork Trust and has exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategising and delivering on new ones.
We would love to hear from you if you have:

Fundraising experience – you will have at least three years of experience at developing a fundraising strategy and understanding how different income streams operate with a strong track record in securing income

Demonstrable experience in securing funding – you will have experience in identifying key voluntary income streams and securing funding support from trusts and foundations, and be comfortable with ‘making the ask’ of wealthy individuals

Grant funding – you will have a strong track record of identifying, securing and monitoring grant funding.

Communication skills – you will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Leadership skills – you will have experience in leading and motivating colleagues and volunteers

Charity experience – you will have worked in the charitable sector, preferably with a focus on environmental issues and have an understanding of how a mission-based organisation operates and the wider sector considerations that a charity operates within

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising would be a bonus

We are looking for an experienced individual giving fundraiser to join the Development and Corporate Partnerships Department based in London. You will raise money for a range of projects and programmes, as well as manage a number of unrestricted income streams including our lottery. You will be a proactive fundraiser who can confidently communicate our impact and plans to our members across the UK and work as part of the wider team. You will be happy to travel to our gardens and shows as needed, working closely with colleagues across the RHS.
Building on your strong experience and knowledge of individual giving programmes, your role will be to help us expand our income and activity plan. This is an exciting time join the RHS as we move ahead with a number of new transformational programmes and seek to increase our fundraising income for a variety of new projects including our scientific research, sustainability projects and new programmes throughout the UK.

MLC Partners are working with a major conservation charity to recruit a Financial Accountant to join their expanding team. The organisation have experienced significant growth in recent years and have developed both their offering as well as commercial income streams which support the incredible work they do around the world.
Main responsibilities include:
- Support with the production of the monthly management accounts through the ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations and posting of journals.
- Work with the Financial Controller on the preparation of the annual statutory accounts for both the charitable and commercial arms through to final sign off for their annual report.
- Take a prominent role in the development of new policies and processes – the team openly welcome new ideas and viewpoints.
- Leading on charity VAT and Gift Aid, ensuring the correct application of relevant rules and regulations.
The successful candidate:
- Either a fully qualified accountant or someone actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification.
- Will ideally have some experience of charity accounting, although candidates from outside the sector who can bring fresh perspectives will also be welcomed.
- Must be open minded and consistently looking for improvements to further the performance of the finance team.
