The Role
This is an exciting time to join a growing and ambitious local charity. Cambridge is changing rapidly and the organisation is working hard to tackle issues such as the loss of nature, climate change and access to green space.
You will be a key member of the management team, reporting to the Chief Executive and Trustees and contributing to the strategic and operational management of all areas of the organisation.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Management of the charity’s finances and business administration functions.
- Commissioning and managing a range of service providers and agents.
- Providing advice to the Board, Management Team and committees.
- Being the Company Secretary and providing a secretariat to the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee.
You will be joining a team of 14 staff (6 full and 8 part-time) supported by over 100 volunteers and assisted by contracted field teachers, advisors and service providers.
We are looking for someone who can work between 21-26 hours per week, offered on a flexible basis to fit around other commitments that you may have in your life.
About You
To be successful in the role you will be supportive of the causes and will use your financial and business administration skills to ensure the charity can make a difference.
You will bring with you the following key skills and experience:
- Preparing end-of-year group accounts with auditors.
- Cash handling, banking, paying invoices, etc. and managing systems for this.
- Experience of using financial systems to produce monthly management accounts.
- Experience of appointing and managing service providers.
- Office management, recruiting and managing staff and providing support services.
- Excellent IT skills (spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite, database management).
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Experience of providing secretariat functions.
- Positive outlook and ability to work across teams.
This role also includes responsibility for the charity’s IT and HR functions (although the specialist aspects of this work are outsourced). We are looking for a candidate who has some knowledge/experience in these areas but where that is not the case, there will be options for training and development.

The International Co-ordinator supports the effective delivery of Wales Arts International’s activities, its projects and services. This includes the development of international information services, co-ordination of communication, correspondence and appointments. It also involves the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external meetings, events and conferences and participation in delivering frontline contact work with sectors in Wales and in international contexts.
The primary focus of this specific role is to provide a high quality administrative and support service to Arts Infopoint UK. It will work alongside the Arts Infopoint UK Officer, Arts Infopoint UK partners and the Wales Arts International team.
Arts Infopoint UK is an initiative to support the arts sector with information on practical issues relating to artist international mobility. The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is currently seeking a Head of Grants. About the role
The London Library is planning a major, multi-year building project and is looking for a Senior Facilities Officer - Project Management to work within the Buildings and Facilities Management team to help support and deliver the project.
As part of a small, hands-on team, this new role will also support the Library’s maintenance and improvement programmes, arranging contractor works and providing liaison with colleagues across the Library. The post reports to the Buildings & Facilities Manager. Some weekend and out of hours working will be required.
About you
You will hold an appropriate formal qualification within a relevant discipline, with previous experience of facilities project management, preferably in the charity, cultural or not-for-profit sector. A proven background in either FM or managing numerous refurbishments and maintenance projects is essential, along with experience of working in construction and maintenance environments, understanding and compliance of H&S law and construction regulations.

This is an exciting new role to build upon the recognition of our achievements to date, by elevating the awareness of the Trust and our many partners. We expect that National Geographic will release their documentary in Autumn 2024 about Shackleton and the expedition organized by the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust that found the wreck of Endurance in the Weddell Sea. You will report to the Chair of Trustees, working collaboratively with the Trustees. You will also collaborate with a variety of charities, institutions and agencies, all with shared interests in our work.
We are seeking an energetic ‘all-rounder’ - a proven leadership professional who will roll their sleeves up and deliver. You will have outstanding communication and liaison skills, be skilful in raising funds and engaging sponsors together with sound financial and contract management experience. Drawing from your previous experience you will help to design, implement and deliver our operational and commercial objectives. Highly self-motivated, you will possess the vision, energy and drive to help create and to implement sustainable strategies for the Trust.

Modern Art Oxford is undergoing a £1.2m programme of redesign and refurbishment of the ground/lower-ground floor this Summer and as part of this programme, there will be a new artist-designed destination café at the lower-ground level.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, creative individual to create a menu that will reflect the design and continue to be accessible to our visitors.
Our café is an important part of the gallery, and our Chef Manager is responsible for providing a welcoming, friendly environment, serving a high quality menu with excellent customer service. This is an operational and hands on role where the large majority of time is spent planning and preparing the café food and drinks and interacting with the general public. The Chef Manager is also responsible for the supervision and the rota management of our café staff, and will collaborate closely with our Commercial Manager to maximise profits and further develop the Café in line with the Gallery’s aims and objectives.
The Modern Art café is currently open Tuesday to Sunday 10am-4pm and we work as a team to produce a clear menu offering paninis, soups, and seasonal specials as well as a wide range of cakes and pastries. Devising dishes to limit wastage and working to strict budgets is a very important part of our menu planning.

Modern Art Oxford is looking to hire a passionate and proactive Retail Manager to work with the Commercial Manager to oversee all aspects of Modern Art Oxford’s Shop including product research, ordering stock, visual merchandising and sales.
Person Specification
Essential skills and experience
- At least two years’ experience of working in a retail environment at a management level.
- Evidence of visual merchandising and display skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong sales focus.
- Excellent communication skills, experience of telephone and email enquiries.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to priorities duties.
- Evidenced experience of managing an online shop.
- Excellent computer competencies, preferably on Apple computers.
- EPOS till systems.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience of working in a gallery environment.
- InDesign, Canva or Photoshop experience.
- Experience of using social media for marketing.
