For a well-loved animal charity, we are looking for a skilled, Charity VAT Specialist for a short-term role to manage the VAT calculations and ensure the charity is compliant across all charity activities, with a focus on VAT recovery, submissions, and maximizing available reliefs. This position will suit someone immediately available, and with a strong practical knowledge of charity VAT requirements, and able to provide support during a busy period.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

VAT Compliance and Calculations:

• Oversee VAT calculations across various charity-related activities, ensuring VAT treatments are applied correctly.
• Calculate and ensure correct VAT recovery on relevant charity purchases, including those related to exempt and non-business activities.
• Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns, ensuring all charity-related income, expenses, and purchases are properly accounted for in accordance with UK VAT legislation.

VAT Reporting and Documentation:

VAT Filing:

VAT Audits and HMRC Liaison:

• Assist with any VAT audits or investigations and provide the necessary supporting documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven Charity VAT expertise, including reliefs, exemptions, and VAT recovery processes
• Strong hands-on experience with VAT returns and compliance for charities or not-for-profit organisations.
• Detailed knowledge of VAT rules affecting charitable activities, i.e., fundraising, donations, grants.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex VAT transactions accurately.

As the Director of Development and Communications, you will join a collaborative and proactive Executive Team and be responsible for fundraising and engagement activity. A leading and strategic role, this post will set and deliver new fundraising and communications strategy to achieve sustainable income generation growth and wider engagement with various audiences. With a particular focus on growing high value income streams for the organisation and testing new fundraising areas, this role will bring innovative thinking and grow the team to deliver successful fundraising and communications strategy.  

To be successful as the Director of Development and Communications, you will have proven experience of setting fundraising strategy and working with small teams to deliver successful income generation growth. You will have evidence of working with various donor and engagement audiences, particularly major donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. This person will need to demonstrate an understanding and some experience within communications, ideally showcasing knowledge of how fundraising and communications support one another.  

This role is a full-time permanent position that will be remote with occasional travel to London. The salary for this position is £65,000 to £70,000.

About the Role

This role supports the design and implementation of social and behavioural change (SBC) best practice in our country programmes with a focus on inclusive and gender-transformative approaches and reaching key populations and vulnerable groups such as adolescents, people in extreme poverty and people living with disability. 

This role will provide focused technical assistance to MSI country programmes, supporting evidence-based design of new approaches, capacity strengthening, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of social and behaviour change activities. It will also support donor and fundraising teams within MSI to include appropriate best practice approaches into new proposal design. 

The SBC Specialist will also work with the Evidence and Impact team to document and share successes and challenges in SBC programming and support the dissemination of best practice approaches. The learnings and outcomes generated from key projects will be used to strengthen SBC programming across MSI’s global partnership, significantly contributing to delivery of MSI’s 2030 strategy. 

This role reports to the Head of SBC and Inclusion in the Technical Services Department, which supports social and behaviour change programming across MSI.

To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

• Significant technical experience, at a regional or global advisory level, in the design and implementation of social and behaviour change programming. Thematic experience must include technical assistance in the health sector, preferably in SRHR.   
• Experience of the critical review of existing SBC approaches to identify learnings and opportunities to improve, establish recommended approaches and guidance and support with effective scale-up. 
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams to align objectives and gain buy-in to approaches 
• Demonstrated ability to present in high-level forums such as donor calls, meetings or conferences 
• Demonstrated capacity strengthening experience, including developing and conducting trainings, mentorship, and coaching of government, local, and community partners.

Barnabas Aid is seeking a proactive and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our International Outreach team. This new role is integral to ensuring the growth and sustainability of our work through regular or one time organisational and personal donations. The Philanthropy Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy in support of this, targeting potential supporters who wish to leave a lasting impact through Barnabas’ work. The role will involve cultivating relationships with current and prospective organisational and private UK based and international supporters, overseeing communications and marketing strategies, and ensuring that Barnabas Aid’s fund raising programme is promoted effectively across all channels.

As part of a dynamic fundraising team, the Philanthropy Manager will work closely with the Head of Campaigns, the Living Streams Officer, and the Head of Communications. The role

will also involve engagement with donors, ensuring that Barnabas Aid is at the forefront of supporters' minds when it comes to making donations or leaving a legacy for future generations of Christians in need.

Overview of the Head of Supporter Engagement role

The Head of Supporter Relations will be leading a committed and passionate team through a supporter centric approach. Barnabas Aid is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual for the role of Head of Campaigns, a critical position within our International Outreach Department. The post-holder will lead the development and delivery of impactful campaigns, aimed at raising awareness, prayer, and vital donations for the charity’s work with persecuted Christians worldwide. The Head of Campaigns will be responsible for key initiatives such as the Barnabas Brekkie/Breakfast campaign, as well as major supporter events like Encourage. The Senior Business Operations Manager (SBOM) will play a key role in leading the faculty business operations team to deliver a high-quality operations infrastructure and business service for King’s Business School engaging both our professional services and academic colleagues.

Our client is seeking a resident doctor from a physical specialty to join their education team as a clinical education fellow.

This role provides an opportunity for a resident doctor to develop expertise as a medical educator, including curriculum development, online resource development, co-facilitating, and to develop leadership and project management expertise through involvement in ongoing work. The clinical education fellow will have the opportunity to attain a postgraduate certificate in medical education and work towards RCP educator accreditation.

This is a one-year, full time role for a resident who has completed a minimum of ST4 with a start date of September or October 2025. You will be based in their London or Liverpool buildings with onsite attendance expected of a minimum of six days per month.  You will be happy to work remotely and be prepared to travel.

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Mental Health Workshop Lead to support delivery of our Family Zone project running in Southwark. This is a contractor position for 12 weeks, working 1 to 2 days per week, from the middle of May. There is the potential to continue for a further 12-14-week period in the autumn.

Family Zone in Southwark will benefit approximately 100-125 members of families where at least one parent has a diagnosed mental health problem. We have successfully delivered a pilot group and will continue to deliver additional groups throughout 2025 with a plan to continue in 2026. Each group programme will consist of ten, weekly after-school workshops lasting two hours in person (3 sessions) or one hour online (7 sessions) and the workshop lead will be expected to jointly plan and deliver these sessions leading on the parental discussions. The workshop lead will also be responsible for leading the parent only discussions during 7 on-line sessions which will run at a different time.

What does the role involve?

• Jointly plan the delivery of the family workshops leading on the psycho education element in the sessions. (10 sessions)
• Lead on the planning and delivery of 7 parent-only sessions.
• Keep a record of key issues discussed in each group, any significant incidents that occur, and any positive or negative feedback from the group for discussion with the Programme Lead - Families Children & Young People.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Professional qualification or significant experience in a related field such as psychotherapy/counselling.
• Demonstrable group facilitation skills and the ability to lead with a non-judgemental attitude, understanding the potential impact of different mental health difficulties on other group members.
• Experience of working with families in a mental health capacity.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the Senior Committed Supporter Steward (Mid Value Lead) is to retain and develop the committed warm cash and committed regular (direct debit) supporters to increase their engagement and income.

The role is responsible for committed individual supporters, which involves;

• Managing a specific pool of mid value supporters and the dedicated budget for strategy development, appeals and stewardship of this pool.
• Managing the warm program for our regular giving (direct debit) donors, including maintaining a program of engaging stewardship materials for our new regular giving product, to increase commitment and reduce attrition.

Brooke has a major donor pool managed by our Philanthropy and Partnerships team, therefore the Senior Committed Supporter Steward works closely with them, to agree effective processes to identify mid value supporters with potential to move to the major donor team pool, or back down to mid value as required.

Experience in managing multi-channel appeals including print and email is essential, along with the ability to create processes, gather insights, and propose budgets for strategic success.

We are expanding Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance with dynamic, talented individuals in new areas of work who will contribute to this journey, helping us ensure the university’s financial sustainability while driving value for money.

The Deputy Director, Management Accounts and Reporting, is part of the FP&A function management team, and will provide leadership to transform King’s College London’s financial reporting outputs and accessibility, ensuring it meets the needs of the university’s strategic and operational priorities. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will lead a team to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management accounting and reporting, underpinned by robust governance, innovative tools, and efficient processes. This will include the use of data integration tools such as Power BI. The Deputy Director will play a central role in redesigning and delivering on King’s financial management reporting framework, leveraging systems such as Power BI and Agresso, and enhancing the reporting structures to align with the scale and nature of the university’s activities (including review/adjustments to the Chart of Management Accounts). The role will ensure that reporting outputs provide actionable insights, drive compliance with financial policies, and empower budget holders with accessible, quality-assured data, thereby also enabling the business partnering function to refocus. This role is pivotal in building a culture of accountability, consistency, and efficiency across the university’s financial management practices.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Reporting Framework

• Lead the design, implementation and operation of a new management reporting framework that aligns with King’s strategic and operational goals.
• Lead the development of a suite of consistent, quality-assured monthly and quarterly reporting products, accessible to stakeholders including through user friendly interfaces such as Power BI.
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to ensure reporting outputs align with the needs of faculties, directorates, and other key areas of activity. Process and Efficiency Improvements
• Identify and take forward opportunities for automation and process efficiency in month-end accounting, including goods received not invoiced (GRNI) recognition and other ledger adjustments.
• Lead the implementation of a refreshed Chart of Accounts, ensuring the income and expenditure (I&E) management reporting structure reflects the university’s key activities.
• Review the utilisation of financial systems, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and value in management reporting activities.
• Develop a month-end timetable, working with relevant teams to enhance the reporting cycle, facilitating meaningful, risk-based financial reviews. Governance and Compliance
• Monitor financial management activities across faculties and directorates, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards.
• Develop and manage a financial controls framework, providing assurance over the accuracy and reliability of management reporting.
• Working with the Finance Business Partnering function, support the transition to new financial management practices, including in the roll-out of updated policies and training for budget holders. Team Leadership and Development
• Lead the central management accounting team, ensuring they are empowered, motivated, and effectively aligned with the department’s vision and goals.
• Provide professional development opportunities for team members, fostering a high performing, collaborative culture.
• Build strong links with other finance teams, ensuring alignment and integration across the Financial Strategy, Planning, and Performance service.

Stakeholder Engagement and Insight Delivery

• Act as a key advisor to senior leaders, providing insights on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Build relationships with budget holders, ensuring they have access to meaningful, actionable financial information.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance Systems teams to enhance data quality, reporting tools, and user interfaces.
