About the role
The Global Communications Officer will help boost Compassion’s international media profile and campaigns through traditional media, social media, and other communication channels. You will generate international media coverage, use breaking stories to drive our campaigns and polices, sell-in stories, produce content across a range of channels, and be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of our global media coverage. You will also help support the coordination of the media work in our country offices and take part in our out-of-hours on-call rota.
About you
This post requires a passionate, confident and creative communications professional who works well in a team. You will need some previous experience in a busy press office or newsroom, a keen news sense, excellent writing skills, an eye for detail, and be able to work to tight deadlines. A good understanding of both traditional media and social media is essential, including basic graphic and video creation for social. Candidates should also possess a keen interest in animal welfare and environmental issues. People with lived experience will be involved in a variety of ways too, including involvement groups, taking part in events within local communities, co-designing services and campaigns, sharing stories and speaking out about the housing emergency. You will work closely alongside people with lived experience to influence and steer the direction of Shelter’s work, so that lived experience informs everything we do.

About you

The ability to plan and co-ordinate involvement activities with local teams and have several activities running during the same time period, is important too, as is a flair for developing successful relationships with colleagues across a large organisation, as well as with local organisations and partners. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Strategic Communications team. Sustrans has been working on a digital product to make the National Cycle Network (NCN) more accessible for disabled people across the UK.
As the Project Manager, you will oversee the second phase of developing this innovative digital product, working closely with out external digital agency, managing the development and test of the online tool to take it from beta to minimum viable product and the soft launch scheduled for the summer of 2025.
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as internal colleagues and external digital partners to ensure all parties involved are regularly updated on the progress of the product, and work closely with the strategic communications team to plan for the soft launch of the product
This role may require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have ideally have experience of managing the development and roll out of digital products, as well as basic understanding of accessibility, UX and user testing.
You will also be experienced in effectively managing a project and budget ideally for a digital product, online application or website and the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people.
We ask you to demonstrate your excellent IT and digital literacy, proven verbal and written communication skill, and your ability to plan and prioritise your own workload

We are recruiting for a Global Content Editor to join our HQ Communications Team based in Godalming in the UK (with some home-based working – currently 3 days a week).
About the role
Working closely with our campaigners and other teams, our Global Content Editor will ensure that editorial content on Compassion’s international website is engaging, impactful, and reaching the right audiences to help drive our mission to end factory farming. They will also write, edit and proofread longer texts produced to further our international campaigns and policy work, such as the powerful campaign reports we release, and write/edit copy for a range of channels including mainstream and social media. The successful candidate will also lead on improving SEO across our websites, rolling out shared content to our national websites, and developing and maintaining a writing style guide.
About you
This post requires exceptional writing and editing skills with strong experience of producing high-quality copy for a diverse range of channels, including websites, annual reports, news stories, as well as social media content. A good team player, you will be used to working in a fast-paced environment and able to use your own initiative to progress projects, working closely with our campaigners to keep abreast of campaign developments. A sharp news sense and a keen eye for detail are essential, as are creativity and flexibility. Candidates should also possess a keen interest in animal welfare and environmental issues. A second language, in addition to English, would be an advantage as you will be working closely with our teams across Europe and beyond.

As the Senior Database Officer, your key purpose is to ensure efficient, compliant data management, and effective data processes. You will be responsible for ensuring we have a proactive data quality programme in place. You will proactively support, find improvements, and push for efficiencies to allow Salesforce users to engage with and effectively manage our supporters all completed in line with relevant data protection legislation.
You will play a key role in facilitating process improvements across the organisation, scoping, defining, and implementing data quality improvements ensuring that Salesforce becomes an organisational success and drives data informed decisions across all teams.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Line management of a Database Executive, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
· Act as the team’s coach, providing a sounding board to Officers and Executives in the team and sharing the benefit of your experience.
· Ensure the accurate processing of Direct Debit claims and Gift Aid claims on the agreed schedule.
· Introduce and manage an ongoing data quality programme to enhance the integrity and usefulness of the data within Salesforce and building users’ confidence in the data.
· Play a regular part in the sprint development team, completing configuration work in Salesforce as directed and taking part in all sprint development meetings.
· Manage data import processes and ensure any exceptions are triaged and the issues rectified, including escalating issues to the relevant agency, or logging a defect in Jira Software.
· Support the Database Manager on database improvement projects aimed at improving teams’ processes surrounding their use of Salesforce.
· Provide 3rd line support for the Data Team ticketing system, ensuring tickets are resolved in a timely manner.
What we are looking for:
· Line management experience
· Experience of developing data quality rules and enhancing the quality of the data held in a CRM system
· Experience of using Salesforce or similar modern CRM systems.
· Experience using a ticketing system, such as Jira Service Desk.
· Experience of process improvement and automation.
· Experience of using an ETL tool to manage loading of data to a CRM system.
· Working knowledge of SQL.
· Knowledge of relational databases, CRM systems and/or large datasets.
· Understanding of data protection legislation and its application to charities.
