Our client is seeking to recruit at least one experienced statistician with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
The appointed individuals will play a pivotal role in the development of quality processes, managing data and conducting data analyses to support research activities, report writing and associated publications.
The Research and Development (R&D) function is responsible for the management, investigation and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data arising from the postgraduate medical training system. Data is analysed to ensure quality, investigate areas of concern, identify trends and report relevant findings for further discussion, such as via committees, reports, conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
Key Responsibilities
- Using good technical skills to explore, manage and report on data, including being competent in a range of data analysis software
- Contributing to the development of Federation systems for quality purposes
- Analysing and presenting findings data from an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) perspective in a clear, accessible way
- Delivering the data analysis components of the Federation EDI Action Plan
- Delivering tasks required by the R&D Oversight Group and associated committees
- Contribute to the drafting and presentation of results for external audiences
- Working cross-departmentally and with external stakeholders where required.
Requirements
- Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in a discipline such as mathematics, statistics or psychology
- High-level competence in using and applying a range of statistical software packages (particularly R and SPSS) for data analysis and presentation purposes
- Good understanding of statistical theory and limitations of different techniques
- Knowledge of data security, encryption techniques and GDPR including a sound understanding of how to manage data within a legal governance framework
- Experience of presenting complex information to suit different audience types
- Good communication and teamworking skills.

The Talking Space service operates from 1pm to 9pm four days a week throughout the year.
About the role:
We have a new and exciting Talking Space service in the vibrant Jewellery Quarter near to the city centre.
Our Talking Space service provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals 18+ living in Birmingham or Solihull who are feeling emotionally distressed or in a mental health crisis. We offer 1-2-1 appointments and drop-ins at 3 sites across the city (Selly Oak, Erdington and Northfield). We listen and provide a range of referral and signposting options.
The service is an alternative to A&E, as part of the urgent care pathway.
We have an opportunity for an empathic and experienced leader to support the set up and effective delivery of the Talking Space service, focusing on young people aged 18 – 25.
You’ll develop engaging activities and groups that appeal to young people, ensuring that we can help them to reach their full potential. With a good understanding of mental wellbeing, you will be accustomed to working within the framework of confidentiality and ensure all relevant documentation is accurately recorded. You’ll be able to communicate in a style appropriate for the audience, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental response to those experiencing psychological distress.
As the Team Leader, you will provide support and supervision to the team, identifying training for individual development and maintaining annual appraisals for staff. You’ll feel confident challenging any discriminatory and disrespectful behaviour, working to high standards and ensuring the team works to the same quality standards.
About you:
With experience gained within a similar role, you will have knowledge of robust safeguarding practices and have a positive attitude to people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
You’ll have experience of working with confidential, sensitive information and adhering to GDPR principles. This will include overseeing the storage and availability of project schedules, workflows and other team documentation to ensure the smooth running of team products, programmes and activities. The role also includes administrative tasks such as data recording, diary and email management, research duties and providing broader project support as needed. It will also involve cross-department working.
The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills and experience using databases. They will also have exceptional organisational skills and a familiarity with digital information delivery channels. They should have a good understanding of basic project management and effective information and documentation management. It is essential that the candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to draft routine correspondence, take accurate meeting minutes, and present clear, concise reports. The role requires strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive working relationships, good presentation and facilitation abilities, and an understanding of co-production and safeguarding.

We are working in partnership with RABI who, at the heart of farming, provide practical, financial and mental health support across England and Wales and are seeking a Regional Manager to be the RABI lead for volunteering and community engagement across the North West region.
RABI’s grants empower farming people to become financially resilient, so short-term monetary problems don’t create negative life-changing impacts. Their mental health support builds emotional resilience to meet the many challenges that farming brings.
The Regional Manager’s responsibilities include the researching, developing and supporting local community fundraising across the region. Working closely with volunteers, county committees and local partners – developing, delivering and evaluating new initiatives to reach new audiences, grow support for RABI and make a difference for the farming community.
You will:
- Demonstrate relevant experience and proven track record within volunteering and community engagement / fundraising.
- Have a good understanding of volunteer motivations, with the ability to manage and work with volunteers and / or local communities.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, a clear and confident presentation style, and the ability to carry out public speaking, handling press / media enquiries and use of social media.
- Have strong project management and events experience.
- Have exceptional time management and highly developed organisational skills.
- Be IT literate – with good working knowledge of email, Word and Excel, as well as CRM and event management systems.
- Be analytical and numerate, confident in report writing including assessing return on investment etc.
A self-starter, you will be confident decision maker, able to work in a sometimes-pressurised environment. You will be a collaborative team player, with the ability to build relationships with people across all levels. You will have empathy and understanding of UK agricultural methods/people and issues facing the industry. Experience with living and/or working among or knowledge of the farming community would be an advantage.
Please note: due the nature of the role it will be necessary to work unsocial hours to fulfil this role e.g., attend weekend shows, evening meetings and events. A full UK Driving Licence and use of a car is essential.
