HERSANA CIC is a non-profit organisation providing tailored support to Black femmes who have faced all forms of gender-based violence (GBV). Our commitment lies in offering a unique service shaped by and for Black femmes, ensuring a holistic approach to addressing the intersectional needs of Black women, Black non-binary people, and Black trans individuals who identify with and feel safe within femme-led spaces.

We aim to centre Black femmes in every narrative and to provide these services in a safe and Black femme only environment. Over the years, our service has sought to support and empower Black femme survivors to cope and build resilience, be better informed, reduce the risk of further victimisation, improve health and wellbeing, and receive the right support. HERSANA provides advocacy services to clients who have experienced or are at risk of all forms of GBV. Our Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates and dedicated team offer holistic support to survivors navigating the criminal justice system, housing, health, and other immediate and long-term needs.
As a leading expert on violence against women and girls, HERSANA provides accredited and tailored training to a wide range of statutory professional services and workshops to schools, colleges and community groups. We use the knowledge gained through working on the frontlines with clients to advocate for national and local policy change, to improve outcomes statutory guidance for Black femme victims and survivors of GBV. We equally contribute to ongoing research and knowledge development on Black femme specific subjects. We push for legislative change, improved statutory guidance for victims, and better understanding of the needs of Black femmes around the country. These resources reflect our dedication to enhancing understanding, support, and empowerment within our community. Additionally, we provide in-person and online therapeutic support to our service users in Sussex, Surrey, and London. Our daily work aims to contribute to and create value within the sector, ensuring Black femmes are not just accommodated but become principal players in the design, delivery, and access to support services
BEING A THERAPY COORDINATOR AT HERSANA
As an experienced Therapy Coordinator you will manage the delivery of and hold clinical responsibility for developing our adult and young people therapy service in London, Surrey and Sussex. The successful candidate will hold a counselling/therapy qualification and will have at least 2 years post-qualification experience of working with people affected by gender-based violence/abuse. You will also hold a BACP, UKCP or HCPC accreditation and have a depth of knowledge, understanding and experience of trauma informed therapeutic support, safeguarding and possess good all-round IT skills.
You will have experience of recruitment, induction, training and line management. You will have experience in delivering clinical supervision or be a skilled and experienced manager who demonstrates a commitment to Black feminist principles and has demonstrable experience of implementing these principles. If successful, you will also be part of the HERSANA Management Team which has operational responsibility for the day-to-day management of HERSANA and its services, in order to meet the aims and objectives of the organisation.
You will be highly organised, self-motivated, and passionate about ending gender-based violence and creating safe spaces for survivors. You will have a "can-do" approach and demonstrable commitment to HERSANA's feminist approach to supporting Black women and girls to be safer.
You will receive training and support for this role, as necessary.

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights, feminist organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls, exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs and facing barriers to social protection. Around 2,000 women use our services every year, benefitting from practical and emotional support, learning new skills and improving their own opportunities. We strive to provide essential tools for women to empower themselves in their pursuit of personal and social change.
LAWRS’ No Limits Project (Sin Fronteras) is a creative art-based project for Latin American girls and young women (LAGYW) aged 14 to 21. The project provides a safe space for LAGYW who are facing severe disadvantages due to intersectional inequalities. This holistic programme provides participants with support to address their needs and overcome barriers. It also offers opportunities for developing existing and new skills, as well as exercising critical thinking on issues that matter to them through the use of arts and campaigning work. The aim of this project is to enable participants to empower themselves and each other to seek the change they want to see in their lives, communities and wider society.
The post holder will join our Counselling and Psychotherapy team, providing emotional support sessions, clinical assessments and one-to-one short term therapy to LAGYW; delivering group work activities and psychoeducational workshops, dealing with internal and external referrals and working closely with the No limits (Sin Fronteras) Project Coordinator and other teams at LAWRS.

As an Advice Hub Caseworker, you will provide one-off, practical support and advice for women and girls who have experienced any form of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). You will provide one-off advice, information and support over the phone and via webchat linking survivors with support that is right for them. You will also provide one-off consultation and advice to professionals working with cases involving VAWG.
The Advice team work from a woman-centred, trauma informed, and survivor led integrated approach, ensuring individualised support that is rooted in empowerment and best practice. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors. These posts play a key part in helping us identify current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing support, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and be innovative. Background
Scottish Women’s Aid is the lead organisation in Scotland working to end domestic abuse. We are both a children’s rights and a women’s rights organisation.
- We directly campaign to institutions and leaders for policies and laws that address the drivers of women’s inequality and improve responses to domestic abuse. This work makes women and children safer and helps them disentangle themselves from their abusers.
- We provide training to public and private bodies from the police and judiciary to child welfare systems, to effectively respond to survivors.
- We raise the profile of domestic abuse nationally and internationally so that domestic abuse is treated like the critical threat to human rights that it is.
- We host Scotland’s 24-Hour Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage Helpline to ensure help is always available while actively supporting a network of 33 specialist local Women’s Aid services that directly support and provide refuge to women and children of Scotland affected by domestic abuse
- We are the umbrella organisation for 33 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, children and young people across Scotland, providing guidance, support and training to our members
What We Need

- Relevant experience in a communications role (of at least 4 years)

The Digital Communications Officer role sits within the Fundraising team which is responsible for the organisation’s income, profile, reputation and supporter base through external and internal communications and campaigns. Doctors of the World UK (DoTW) is part of the global Médecins du Monde (MdM) network, which delivers over 400 projects in more than 70 countries, 6,000 volunteers and 5,000 employees. We deliver both emergency and planned medical support, staying to support people in need of healthcare for the long term. We advocate directly for the rights of everyone to access healthcare, no matter who they are or where they are from.
In the UK, we deliver our own domestic programme supporting people excluded from healthcare in the UK, including people seeking asylum and those who are homeless. The Marketing & Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in driving our organisation’s fundraising and marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative fundraising strategies and impactful marketing campaigns, building strong relationships with donors and stakeholders, and advising senior leadership on trends and opportunities in fundraising. Additionally, you will work closely with the Executive Director and line-manage three direct reports, a wider internal telemarketing team and various consultants and service providers. This role is ideal for a proactive individual who is passionate about making a difference and skilled in engaging and building diverse audiences.
