Responsibilities and Person Specification: 

The Writer/Editor will work as part of a team to create and update our range of Information and Advice resources for older people facing financial hardship. You should have experience of developing resources aimed at the public, and the ability to write clear, concise text that presents complex issues in an accessible way. You should be able to deliver, receive and act upon feedback on content, and engage with older people to test out new materials.

Hybrid working in London: £32,682 per year, increasing to £33,600 after 6 months and £34,493 after 12 months

A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. We are seeking a capable Programmes Administrator to provide administrative support for our Project teams, NCT Baby Cafes, NCT Infant Feeding Line and our Peer Support Team. The post holder will work with the staff, practitioners and volunteer teams to ensure the smooth delivery of our projects within Programme Delivery. 

About the Role

Working closely with the contracts manager, our projects teams, commissioned services manager and our infant feeding services manager, you will be responsible administration support across the Programme Delivery department:

· Supporting branches with delivering drop-ins and peer support training, 

· Reviewing grant documentation 

· Support branch funded services including generating contract documentation. 

· Monitoring budget 

· Generate contract assignments for NCT Practitioners delivering on branch contracts including management of NCT Practitioner holiday and sickness cover. 

· Approving expense claims for practitioners and staff within our programmes.  

· Support with administration of volunteer peer supporters and the central training of cohorts.

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

- Being available to delivering training on behalf of Birthrights at least twice a year (most training takes place in the working week and a full day of training would last around seven hours and a half-day around 4 hours) with the expectation that most of our trainers deliver an average of four sessions a year. You will need to be prepared to offer training both face-to-face and online.

- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality training, consistent with the Birthrights’ training offer, keeping in-line with Birthrights’ values and Tone of Voice at all times. 

- Co-delivering training with a fellow Associate Trainer from a legal or healthcare background, working together to help bring case studies and legal frameworks to life. 

- Submitting an invoice for any training fees and expenses within a month of the training event.

- Agreeing not to run any course covering the same or similar material, or to use any material used in the Birthrights courses or to present themselves as representing Birthrights outside of training arranged by Birthrights.

- Contributing to the development of Birthrights’ training material through conference calls, giving feedback via email or in person trainer updates when requested (anticipated to be 2-4 times a year across all formats).

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an incredible project. We are looking for an experienced Horticulturist to continue developing Eden’s therapy garden in our outer estate to deliver skills development and therapeutic activities. Working as part of a small team, you will plan and deliver an annual programme of training and therapeutic horticulture with various groups of people, to help them to improve their mental health and wellbeing and overcome barriers to employment.
