THE ROLE

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for leading the London team’s overall fundraising strategy and activities. The role requires the postholder to motivate and support their team, and ensure regional and individual fundraising targets are met, in alignment with Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy. This position involves bringing new fundraising opportunities as well as enhancing relationships with existing supporters and donors.

Join the National Portrait's Gallery’s Development team as Fundraising Manager, Grants. You'll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Manager, Grants and Legacy Giving to support the delivery of an ambitious and exciting fundraising programme and raise income through grant-giving bodies, including Trusts and Foundations, statutory funders, and corporate foundations.

The postholder will seek to secure critical support for budget-relieving activity taking place across the Gallery, including learning and engagement and exhibitions, as well as support for acquisitions, special projects, and capital works. There are over 60 million working donkeys and mules in the world, but millions are being killed every year for the inhumane donkey skin trade, leading the African Union to announce plans for a moratorium on donkey slaughter and the development of a strategy for working animals across the continent. This huge opportunity is just one way that charity and its advocacy work can change the world for donkeys and mules, giving them the protection they need and the health and welfare they deserve.

As Head of Advocacy, you will work in partnership with the Director of Advocacy & Campaigns, the CEO and other Senior Management to deliver the organisational strategy by developing inspiring advocacy plans based on clear strategy, integrated with other departments of the organisation.

Your principal duties and responsibilities will include:

• Working with the Director of Advocacy and Campaigns to design and implement an advocacy strategy to effect lasting change for donkeys and mules in line with our organisational aims.

• Representing the organisation at key stakeholder engagements, strategic high level forums and in the media, as appropriate.

• Working closely with other departments to ensure advocacy integrates with other streams of the sanctuary’s work and ensure the organisation has the support and infrastructure to deliver excellent advocacy outcomes.

•  Overall responsibility for the work, financial budget and planning of the advocacy team and line manage posts in the department, as agreed with the Director.

About the Role

The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area. The role will be part of a larger Crisis Café team made up of Crisis Recovery Workers, Crisis Peer Support Workers, Team Leaders and volunteers.

Service Delivery

• Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Biggleswade & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to services process, and undertaking 1:1s.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).

Director of Finance & Operations

This well regarded international development charity whose mission is to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives are looking for a Director of Finance and Operations. The Director of Finance & Operations will support the CEO to develop the financial and operational strategy. The role will ensure financial sustainability, enhance resource management efficiency, optimise business processes and controls as well as mitigate risk whilst adopting a continuous improvement mindset.

Detailed responsibilities of the role will include;

• Provide strategic leadership on financial strategy and management
• Advise and support the CEO and Board on all financial matters, including risk management
• Oversee the organisation's finance systems, policies, and processes
• Oversee global operational activities, such as insurance, procurement, ICT systems and relevant policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and maintaining global impact
• Oversee global security efforts, encompassing physical and cyber aspects, to safeguard organisational assets and data
• Provide inspirational leadership to foster the development of high-performing teams guided by strategic objectives and a shared sense of purpose
• Manage a team of approximately 7 staff

In order to be successful in the role, we are looking for successful candidates to demonstrate formal accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), extensive experience of financial management gained within a multi country international charity setting (including the complexities of managing funds in areas of conflict) as well as the gravitas to operate with credibility to advise the Board.

Flexible hybrid working arrangements are offered. This role can be based out of London or remotely if you live in a country that the organization has a presence.

Prospectus is excited to be partnering with a charitable organisation which uses research to enhance healthcare knowledge and influence better medical decisions. They are now currently recruiting for a Junior Legal Counsel, to join their team on a temporary basis, initially for 1-2 months.

In this position, you will support the Legal Counsel in providing legal advice to colleagues across the organisation, to enable them to manage risk and meet their legal and regulatory obligations. Duties will include reviewing and improving the Legal Team’s processes and ways of working, creating and maintaining legal policies and ensuring processes and guidance are fit for purpose. You will also be tasked with drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of contracts and providing in-house training to colleagues across the wider organisation.

To be considered for this role you will be a qualified solicitor with some post qualification experience or be a paralegal/legal assistant with experience in a comparable role. You will have expertise in contracts law in one or more of the following areas: intellectual property, data protection, publishing, technology and ideally have worked within the charity/not-for-profit sector. Finally, the right candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills and a keen attention to detail.

Please note, this is a part- time role, 30 hours per week (can be spread over 4 or 5 days). This role is fully remote, with occasional travel to their London based office.

ENS is seeking a Communications Coordinator to play a key role in enabling ENS to fulfil its mission to break the cycle of statelessness in Europe and realise everyone’s right to a nationality.

This is a great opportunity to help us deliver our new Strategic Plan working at the forefront of one of the most pressing human rights issues. The successful candidate will coordinate ENS’s communications work and help raise awareness and galvanise our membership to end statelessness.

The European Network on Statelessness (ENS) is a civil society alliance of over 180 members in 40 countries, committed to breaking the cycle of statelessness in Europe and realising everyone’s right to a nationality. We are dedicated to raising awareness about statelessness, supporting legal and policy development, and building civil society’s capacity to act. At the heart of our work lies the understanding that stateless people and their communities should be leaders of change.

We are looking for someone with a solid track record in developing and promoting engaging content to affect change on hard-to-win issues. The candidate should also have practical knowledge of online communications tools - including Mailchimp or similar email platforms, website Content Management Systems, CRM, and social media management platforms.

Working under the supervision of the Head of Communications, Operations & Development, the postholder will work closely with key partners, members, and other ENS staff to increase the impact of our advocacy work by developing engaging content. They will also support our efforts to put people and communities affected by statelessness at the centre of our communications work.

The post’s day-to-day responsibilities will among other things involve coordinating a busy online website and email publishing schedule, managing social media, and publication design and publishing.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a busy communications environment. The candidate will be highly articulate in English (other languages are an asset) with experience of working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
