We are looking for an experienced and inspired fundraiser to manage our individual giving supporter recruitment programme. As IG Supporter Recruitment Manager you will manage the programme, leading the development and implementation of the strategy to maximise the value of our donor recruitment activity.
Key Skills and Attributes:
This role requires a confident fundraiser with a solid grasp of all supporter recruitment channels and an understanding of retention and development channels.
You’ll need a track record of successful recruitment fundraising from individuals, with experience in donor recruitment or in direct marketing acquisition within the commercial sector.
Experience of driving effective direct marketing activity is essential, as is knowledge of fundraising compliance and best practise in line with evolving regulations.
The programme covers a diverse range of activities and techniques to recruit regular givers, cash donors and product donors, with a strong focus on digital platforms. This includes recruitment activity such as Meta paid social, Performance Max, paid search, and converting supporters to donors through post action asks and emails, as well as a testing programme for new activity. Additionally, this post would be responsible for optimising welcome journeys to improve retention, Value Exchange products, inserts, Out of Home and Connected TV.
Our supporter experience programme includes cash appeals, upgrade, reactivation, a biannual supporter magazine, cash to regular giving conversion activity, e-appeals and retention activity.
The Individual Giving programme has evolved hugely over the past few years, with a big increase in our digital activity and collaboration with campaign teams to create compelling and integrated plans.
Each Individual Giving Officer manages a selection of projects across recruitment or experience, rotating project management to support development and learning across the team.

The role is in the supportive and friendly Individual Giving (IG) team, which sits within the Income Generation directorate.

AWF is seeking a confident and highly organised Development Officer to join our ambitious External Affairs team on a part-time basis for 9 month maternity contract, beginning end September. The team is committed to cultivating a diverse pipeline of donors – individuals, corporations and foundations - and stewarding current donors whose contributions support AWF’s mission to ensure that wildlife and wild lands endure in modern Africa.This role is central to delivering AWF’s fundraising goals in the UK.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Donor Engagement UK, the Development Officer’s role is to provide back-end support to the UK fundraisers supporting the moves management process and smooth running of the virtual office, ensuring compliance with UK laws. The position will manage all elements of the virtual office, administration and reporting and support the team in managing portfolios of donors and prospects targeting mid-level and high net worth individuals, corporates and foundations.
Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Manages virtual offices and membership programme payment processing in collaboration with our data services team based in the US.
- Manages post where it relates to membership mailings. Manages orders for stationery and AWF materials needed to support mailings, events, and donor management (internal and external contracts).
- Support UK Director and Senior Manager, Donor Engagement in organising donor meetings.
- Manage travel and logistics for visiting AWF staff to the UK.
Portfolio growth and stewardship
- Works closely with the global research team to develop prospect lists for UK donors/partners – ensuring AWF is using the best possible tools for research and prospecting in the UK mindful of GDPR.
- Support fulfilment of UK donor stewardship plans to ensure all donors have appropriate and considerate communications from AWF working with AWF’s Communications team, Digital Officer and Director of Annual Giving.
Donor Information Management
- Oversees RE records for UK donors and prospects, making sure mailing lists are correct and can easily be drawn down for communications, maintaining accurate records of all donor interactions, individuals’ programmatic interests, trends in giving, and type of support to solicit.
- Works with Data Services and the UK team to review portfolios and make sure amendments are made on Raiser Edge ( RE).
Content Development and Communications
- Manages regular mailings to target audiences, as well as invitations to organisational wide donor engagement activities.
- Sends donor acknowledgements by email and phone calls (for smaller gifts).
Requirements and Skills
- Knowledge of the UK fundraising market, UK data protection guidelines and best practice and experience of working within these guidelines.
- Demonstrable knowledge of all Microsoft office packages, mail merges and mailchimp software.
- Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software.
- Persuasive written communication skills in both creative and technical formats.

Personal specification
This role concerns a discreet one year (initially) political campaign. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional campaigner, with a track record of achieving impact for the marine environment. They will already be gaining momentum in the sector, with the ability to implement campaigns, understanding the complex political dynamics that go into ocean governance. Experience in the southern ocean, central and south America and at international ocean fora will all be beneficial to the role. An eye for technical detail, organisational rigour when it comes to delivery against workplans and the stamina and temerity to see campaigns through to their conclusion will all be useful in this role.

The Role
The Philanthropic Partnerships Assistant plays an important role in supporting the financial sustainability objectives of GGF UK. The postholder is responsible for managing a portfolio of trust and foundations partnerships giving up to $200,000 per year, and will also be responsible for stewarding our portfolio of individual giving supporters donating up to £10,000 per year. The Role
The Programme Funding Manager provides cross-team support to strengthen the organisation’s funding and budget management functions and ensure the successful delivery of GGF’s grantmaking and other programmatic activities. This includes collaborating with multiple teams within GGF UK and GGF US including the Programmes, Grants Management, Finance and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to design and implement systems, processes and improvements to ensure high quality budget management and high standards of donor and regulatory compliance across all funded activity.
The role is responsible for the budget management of all GGF UK-funded programmatic activities, working with Programmes colleagues, Advisory Board representatives, donor relationship managers, Finance staff and others to ensure funds are spent appropriately in line with project plans and donor obligations.

The ideal candidate for this role will have substantial experience in a similar capacity within charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, or human rights organisations, particularly in an international setting. They will be adept at enhancing collaboration across multiple functional teams, including those operating internationally, to ensure effective and compliant funding and budget management, especially with restricted income. The candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in designing, managing, and refining systems and processes for better budget management and donor compliance in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Their experience should include managing large, multi-year programmatic budgets exceeding $5 million and ensuring adherence to donor agreements and regulatory requirements, such as those of the Charity Commission.

Inspiring, influencing and supporting new initiatives and partnerships focused on upscaling rewilding across larger landscapes and a diverse range of ownership and management types — community-led and multi-stakeholder partnerships, private, public, corporate and NGO landowners, commoners, crofters etc.

Working with the Rewilding Manager to ensure that our annual Challenge Fund award acts to catalyse and enable the development of large-scale 'exemplar' rewilding initiatives.

Liaising with the Rewilding Manager to encourage new initiatives to join and engage in the Rewilding Network.

Representing Rewilding Britain to external stakeholders on various events, platforms and network groups.

Delivering effective systems and processes for tracking, monitoring and reporting on progress.

Working closely with the Rewilding Director and Rewilding Manager to ensure we best target resources.

Experience

At least eight years’ professional experience in a relevant field, e.g. conservation and/or land management/agency.

Demonstrable experience in influencing change, network building and managing strategic partnerships and relations at a senior level.

Experience of community and multi-stakeholder led co-design and governance models is highly desirable.
Skills

Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to work effectively to deadlines and achieve demonstrable results in a rapidly changing context.

Powerful communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders. Media skills are highly desirable.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits
This is a full-time role at 35 hours per week, but we're open to applications from those looking to work 28 hours or more per week.
The salary is £40k - £48k per annum (depending on relevant experience).
There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.
Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over five years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.
We are a virtual team who work from home and/or co-working spaces. We'll support you to achieve a suitable virtual working environment. Some meetings are held face to face across Britain, so a willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays is desirable.
