About this key role

As our Accommodation Adviser, you will complete an Initial Needs Assessment (INA) with each service user using a strength-based approached within agreed contractual timeframes, before assessing need and risk, alert to changes that could indicate change in risk or serious harm, including personal safety and safeguarding.

You will contribute to the design and delivery of an effective and solution-focused accommodation plan and advise and support service users to achieve successful outcomes utilising your specialist housing knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of accommodation and local service provision. You will also be expected to maintain and build new relationships with social and private housing providers and within the criminal justice sector, voluntary and statutory agencies. Monitoring progress and recording on digital systems is also a key duty.

Here at Stroke Association, we’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in the Salford area.

This is an exciting home based opportunity working with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11212 Stroke Association Support Coordinator (two posts)

Location: Home-based, Bury. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings).

The Role

To continue our life-changing work, we are seeking a Fundraising Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our friendly and supportive team. Working collaboratively to achieve ambitious goals and play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our community and events fundraising programme.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to move into a career in the charity and fundraising sector. We would welcome applications from people with no fundraising or charity sector experience, but who have transferrable skills and experience to the role. What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to create and implement successful marketing plans using a range of communication channels. You will have the ability to motivate and inspire others and have high levels of project and event management, with the ability to communicate with confidence and fluency. You will feel at ease speaking over the phone, email and in person with a broad range of people, for example families affected by meningitis.

Personal Specification

Skills and Experience:

• Professional fundraising, marketing or sales experience preferably within a charity
• Event and/or project management
• Experience of working on cross-organisational projects
• Experience of delivering exceptional supporter care
• Working in target driven environments
• Achieving financial targets and budget setting
• Experience of producing a range of effective communications
• Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database
• Data protection (Preferably within the charity sector)

• Strong administration, ability to plan, balance and cope with competing priorities

• Strong self-motivation with ability to work on own initiative identifying and maximising fundraising opportunities

Key responsibilities:
We have various roles that include different elements of the tasks and responsibilities below. 

1. Oversee income and expenditure transactions. 
2. Manage ledgers, reconciliations and journals
3. Payroll and pensions processing. 
4. Follow and review financial processes, procedures and policies, seeking to update them when necessary
5. Management of others in the finance team.
6. Ensure that finances are managed effectively, that proper accounting records are kept and are in compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines

Role Profile

You’ll be part of a newly established and innovative service working across the Emergency and Same Day Emergency Care Departments at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

You’ll be working as part of a wider integrated team and will be a physical presence at all touch points and decision making opportunities. You’ll enable targeted, preventative community interventions that are focused on admissions avoidance and turning people around at the ‘front door’.

You’ll act as the first point of contact for all referrals into the voluntary and community sector ensuring people who can be supported through a community response are linked to appropriate interventions addressing the social, economic and environmental factors that affect people's health.

You’ll empathise with people and provide person-centred support in a non-judgemental way, enabling them to self-manage. You’ll use a strength-based approach focusing on what the person can do for themselves to improve their health and will build resilience by supporting them to identify what assets they already have or can draw upon.

You’ll ensure service data and local intelligence is captured and communicated to inform the review, revision and development of interventions to meet needs, strengthen community and individual resilience and help to develop and grow accessible and sustainable activities and services that address the wider determinants of health and reduce health inequalities.

You’ll also record project outcomes and develop a feedback loop ensuring the impact of community response is reflected back to system partners, facilitating understanding of the impact of low level interventions on individuals and the system as a whole.

Location: We work flexibly to meet the needs of the service. This includes working from GP surgeries, supporting people in the community, working from our main offices in Scunthorpe, Scunthorpe General Hospital and working from home

Role Profile

You’ll act as the first point of contact for client referrals from North Lincolnshire Councils Adult Services. Clients will have already received a full assessment by the Adult Services team to identify and meet their personal care needs. Your role will complement the outcome of this assessment, enabling clients to explore and identify low level interventions in relation to their domestic and social needs.

You’ll empathise with people and provide person-centred support in a non-judgemental way, enabling them to self-manage. You’ll use a strength-based approach focusing on what the person can do for themselves to improve their quality of life and build resilience by supporting them to identify what assets they already have or can draw upon – family, friends, neighbours, religious organisations, community programmes, cultural and ethnic organisations, or other support groups throughout North Lincolnshire. Working as part of the wider integrated team, you’ll work to divert demand away from the ‘front door’ of health and adult social care, increasing the capacity of domiciliary care teams across North Lincolnshire and enabling a holistic approach to clients' health and wellbeing.

You’ll ensure service data and local intelligence is captured and communicated to inform the review, revision and development of interventions to meet needs, strengthen community and individual resilience and help to develop and grow accessible and sustainable activities and services that address the wider determinants of health and reduce health inequalities.

You’ll also record project outcomes and develop a feedback loop ensuring the impact of community response is reflected back to system partners, facilitating understanding of the impact of low level interventions on individuals and the system as a whole.

You’ll be a part of a small, but committed team with big ambitions that works cohesively and effectively together to get things done. You'll be an important and valued member of the team and, with the support of Citizens Advice North Lincolnshire, will be responsible for ensuring people focused outcomes are met in a pressurised environment.
