Communications Officer – AKU Society

Key Responsibilities:

Working requirements, salary & benefits
- Salary between £22,000 and £24,000 dependant on location and experience, plus pension scheme
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days)
- One year fixed term contract; we aim to support all Graduate coaches to progress to other roles with us after this initial year, with development towards management level within 3 years.
- Occasional evening working required (for events such as termly Spear Celebration evenings)
- For most centres there is a requirement to become part of the partner church congregation, and you will be expected to participate in church team events as well as wider Resurgo team events, including weekly staff prayer meetings and annual staff conferences in summer and winter (one residential)

Content Manager

The Content Manager is responsible for creating and delivering impactful content that showcases RNID’s work and engages our audiences. Managing one direct line report, the postholder works closely with colleagues in Marcomms and Fundraising to ensure RNID’s supporter communications are high quality and on brand.
You will:
- Produce the supporter magazine three times a year. This includes planning the content; writing, editing and sourcing articles; coordinating regular contributors; working with designers; and project managing each magazine’s production from concept through to delivery
- Write engaging content for other materials aimed at new and existing supporters, such as fundraising appeals and RNID's case for support
- Line manage the Content Officer
- Review and edit content to ensure it adheres to brand guidelines, acting as an expert on RNID’s tone of voice
- Take ownership of the content function at RNID, write up key processes relating to the magazine and supporter content, and follow project delivery processes
- Work with key stakeholders in areas such as design, digital marketing and fundraising to ensure projects and deliverables are completed to time and standard
- Ensure existing supporter content is monitored and refreshed as required
- Track and act on data related to the magazine
You
We’re looking for an experienced writer with the ability to engage and inspire our supporter audiences. You’ll feel comfortable learning our brand guidelines and tone of voice, and you’ll be able to act as an expert on these. While line management experience isn’t essential, you’ll have an interest in coaching and developing one direct line report, as well as in collaborating with colleagues in a remote working environment. You’re confident managing projects from start to finish, following internal processes to get the best from stakeholders.
Essential skills for the role
- Strong communication, copywriting and editing skills
- Experience creating content for an organisation, ideally for print and digital channels
- Experience managing projects and working with different stakeholders, such as designers and external copywriters
- Experience using the Microsoft Office package

To support the growth in Wild Impact’s conservation and sustainable development impact, it is recruiting a UK based Senior Partnerships Manager, who will be responsible for developing and implementating a UK and W. Europe focused fundraising drive. Expectation is that the successful individual will be able to increase our existing annual fundraising level of ~$750,000 by an additional ~$ 750,000 by 2026, and thereafter increase their personal fundraising contribution by at least 20% per annum.
The successful applicant will report jointly to the Wild Impact South Africa CEO and the Trustees of Africa Foundation (UK) and work closely with the worldwide Wild Impact Fundraising and Partnerships team.
KEY OUTPUTS:
Development and management of a UK and W. Europe based fundraising and partnerships strategy that will enable the implementation of the shared Wild Impact and &Beyond Impact strategy, including:
o The drafting and submission of all project profiles and grant applications.
o Development and dissemination of all donor and partner communications.
o The delivery and progressive improvement of all donor and partner reports.
o Actively engaging with all donors and partners, which will include significant regional and international travelling.
o Representing Wild Impact at Fundraising events and relevant conferences and workshops focused on Conservation and Rural Community Development.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Minimum of a Graduate degree.
- Good understanding of biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and sustainable rural development.
- Proven experience in developing, leading and nurturing fundraising strategies, including individual, corporate, government, bilateral agency and foundation partnerships.
- Proven ability to establish and nurture Impact partnerships.
- Excellent communication, Information Technology, and financial management skills.

We are seeking a Senior Communications & PR Leader to drive impactful internal and external communications and strengthen our global network. Wingfield Resource Centre is a mental health, supported housing and community-based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
Any big change or life event is likely to be accompanied by a mixture of emotions; becoming a parent is no exception. Parents can feel pressure to be nothing but grateful for parenthood and that having children is only ever rewarding. This makes speaking up about the challenges and asking for help more difficult and can lead to feelings of guilt and shame.
This 2-year pilot service will provide early intervention outreach, offering preventative support to parents of young families living in East Surrey. This support will focus on maintaining positive mental health and well-being, by increasing support and social networks. It will include the offer of a Wellbeing Assessment to identify the person’s needs, digital support tools then signposting or referrals to ongoing community support resources (e.g., reducing isolation, building resilience and peer networks), as well as follow-up appointments to ensure that the support was appropriate, and the person is engaging before closing their placement.
As well as supporting individuals, a part of your role will be to build on networks within these communities, identifying individual needs and working closely with our Waythrough Community Connections team to create opportunities to address those needs.
When adults find it difficult to reach out and access support or even acknowledge their emotions, it's often because of the environment that they have been raised in. We hope that this service could be a small step towards breaking that cycle for these children. By motivating parents of young children to focus on their wellbeing and learn different ways of managing their emotions, we hope that they will pass this knowledge onto their children, along with the attitude that it's not only acceptable, but important to focus on your own wellbeing.
