The Role

Each day you will travel to different venues, set up an attractive fundraising stand, and spend the day actively engaging with members of the public, spreading awareness about our conservation efforts and inspiring individuals to become lifelong members. 

Don't worry if you're not a wildlife expert yet – you will be provided with comprehensive training to equip you with all the knowledge you need. Plus, you'll enjoy the added perk of a company van, with fuel and parking costs paid for.

What's even better? You'll have the flexibility to choose a contract between 3 to 5 days per week, and enjoy the stability of a set salary, rather than working on commission. About You

What we need from you:

• A passion for conservation (no prior knowledge required);
• Resilience
• Ability to work to targets;
• A driver's licence valid for use in the UK;
• Happy to work 3 out of 4 weekends;
• Happy to travel (on average) an hour away from home each day;
• Willingness to work outdoors and independently;
• Fundraising/Sales and Customer Service experience (desirable).

The team at The Lodge have been delivering exemplary visitor experience for over 60 years, making the reserve a serious opportunity for fundraising and membership recruitment.

As a core part of both the Pagham team and the Face to Face membership teams, you be working alongside staff and volunteers to welcome visitors to the reserve and enthuse them about the conservation importance of the site. You will be expected to role model best practices for reserve fundraising to inspire new memberships for the charity.

What we are looking for:

Given that this position is based at Pagham Harbour, the ideal candidate will live within 20 miles of Pagham harbour. Expert knowledge of British wildlife is not a pre-requisite, but a passion for conservation, an ability to employ effective communication skills and an eagerness to learn are essential.

You need a passion for saving nature, an engaging personality, the ability to present a compelling reason to support the charity, communicate confidently and be happy to work toward targets. This is a rewarding and enjoyable role with the only requirement to engage and inspire!

You may have worked in other areas where you have had to build face-to-face relationships, such as hospitality, customer service, sales, sustainability, conservation, campaigning, income generation, business development, retail, or in a volunteering capacity.

However, it is your skills we are interested in rather than your work experience, as you will receive fantastic training and ongoing support as you start your career. Your training will include a combination of training in English reserves, alongside existing Fundraisers and on the job at Pagham.

We are working in partnership with a conservation organisation to secure their new Director of Fundraising and Marcomms.

An exciting opportunity has risen for a driven and highly collaborative Director of Fundraising and Marcomms who has strong experience of and alignment with the environment sector. The director will lead on and deliver an organisation-wide strategic approach to fundraising, which aligns with organisational needs and priorities, and supports financial resilience, and long-term growth. Key areas will include the cultivation and stewardship of a diverse range of funding streams, including membership, corporate partnerships, high net worth/major donors and direct income generation, whilst developing and leading a high performing team and delivering on all necessary internal and external marketing and communications to support the wider organisation.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• A relevant professional qualification, preferably in Marketing, Business and/or Environmental Sciences, and/or have relevant professional experience. 
• An understanding of the UK nature conservation sector and the main areas of potential funding past, present and future.
• Significant experience of business development, preferably with a minimum of three years in successful high value fundraising, including the development and delivery of successful fundraising campaigns and programmes, with a track record of securing funds and managing relationships with corporates (including multi-year partnerships), high net worth individuals / major donors.
• Demonstrable experience of brand awareness building, and leading and delivering impactful digital marketing/social media and regular giving campaigns.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade; a courageous, innovative, ambitious and proactive leadership style, with the ability to inspire others to maximise their potential in a collaborative and dynamic working environment, will be essential.
