This is a key role, developing and shaping an innovative portfolio of career development programmes helping the next generation of researchers reach their full potential. You will be primarily responsible for managing the Academy’s Cross-sector programme, bringing together researchers and innovators across life sciences sectors at regional cross-sector hubs to promote innovation. In addition, you will lead the team delivering our scientific conference for clinical academics and manage INSPIRE, our programme to encourage medical, dental and veterinary undergraduate students to undertake research.

In this role, you will lead on developing and maintaining our partnerships with external organisations we fund to deliver the cross-sector events around the UK, building relationships with key people and working with them to ensure work is delivered to a high quality and evaluated to demonstrate we are achieving our aims. You will identify and implement innovations to improve our events and other activities, manage relationships with funders who support these programmes and contribute to funding proposals. You will also engage with the wider grants, programmes and policy teams work, connecting in relevant researchers and sharing your expertise in career development support. In addition, all Academy staff are encouraged to take part in cross-team projects, for example in promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in our activities and to contribute to initiatives such as staff learning sessions and networking opportunities.

This role is offered as a secondment or fixed term contract of 4 months from 1 December 2024 to 31 March 2025.

You'll look to grow our corporate partnerships income, building on recent successful and award-winning partnerships with Marsh McLennan, Vanish and TalkTalk, to secure and deliver new corporate partnerships. • Demonstrable knowledge of the commercial sector and how to access decision makers.
• Excellent presentation skills, representing the charity in a range of settings and to a range of audiences.

This is a unique oppertunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career, with the freedom to creatively enhance and develop the fundraising strategy of an impactful community-based charity.

As Senior Fundraising Lead you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding, as well as nurturing and growing existing fundraising relationships. You will be responsible for strategising and carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. You will play a central role and work closely with our operations team, as well as recieving expert monthly mentoring from a senoir fundraising consultant. 

This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Fridays which is when staff meetings are held.

The opportunity

This is a great opportunity to make your mark on a fantastic community project as part of a small and friendly team. Using your excellent organisation and communication skills, you will support the existing Community RePaint (CRP) schemes and help to develop new schemes in order to substantially increase the volumes of paint collected and redistributed in local communities across the UK. You will promote and raise awareness of CRP online across multiple platforms, develop the CRP brand, lead on communications, and assist with promoting ReColour remanufactured paint. You will work with community organisations, paint manufacturers, retailers, businesses, decorators, and housing associations across the UK to increase the supply and distribution of surplus paint into the network and onto walls in local communities. An important aspect of the role is to develop and secure new schemes to join the network and find creative ways of encouraging paint reuse.

What you will be doing

Line managed by the Network Manager, you will have their support and guidance, to deliver the following;

Supporting the CRP network

• Proactively engage and respond to scheme enquiries, providing excellent customer service through email, phone, and social media accounts, troubleshooting to find quick and helpful solutions.
• Provide support and advice to all schemes, sharing relevant information and resources, and assisting with operational issues.
• Improve the ‘networking’ element of existing schemes, to increase the number of network functions and opportunities.
• Undertake visits to schemes across the UK, both independently and with CRP colleagues.
• Organise, devise, and deliver training materials, presentations, and events to support existing and new schemes.
• Respond to external enquiries via telephone and email.
• Liaise with external organisations in order to better assist local schemes and customers.

Growing the CRP network

• Contribute to the development of the CRP strategic delivery plans.

Marketing and communications management

• Oversee maintenance and update of the CRP website content, liaising with our website partners when complex amendments are needed.

Role Purpose

The role is focused on supporting our Energy Advice services in Ceredigion. As project support officer, you will support the smooth running of these services on a day-to-day basis including maintaining spreadsheets, collating data and liaising with project partners.

Severn Wye are looking for an Office Coordinator to help with running our new offices and increasing team of staff.

This is an interesting and varied role providing administrative support across the organisation and supporting the smooth running of the office. This role will be responsible for office administration including liaising with the landlord, office suppliers, managing the contract and relationship with the external IT support provider. The role will also support the HR function in particular recruitment and onboarding of new staff including office induction for all new starters on health and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

– Provide administrative support across the organisation and supporting the smooth running of the office including those staff working remotely.

– Work with colleagues to make improvements to administrative systems, taking the lead on implementing changes where appropriate.

– Ensure that Trustee meeting, Sub-Committees meeting, executive meetings and the AGM, are fully serviced, including preparation of agendas, circulation of papers, and preparation of minutes.

– Providing support to recruitment, including liaising with potential candidates, setting up interviews and induction schedules for new staff and ensuring that staff records and renewable documents on HR Partner are up to date.

– Ensure the smooth running of our office, including maintaining office supplies, liaising with the landlord, facilities and utilises service providers.

– Oversee the office induction for all new recruits including health and safety procedures.

– Have responsibility for the managing the contract and relationship with the external IT support provider and be their main point of contact.

– Respond to requests from staff regarding hardware, software, or network connection problems or questions, and arrange IT support and advice to staff from the external ICT support provider, this includes arranging laptops, mobile phones and printing.

– Ensure that agreed systems for office security and access, including the Health and Safety policy and procedures, are implemented, for instance issuing ID card and administration duties for the lone worker App.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced coordinator who is highly organised and able to manage their own workload. You must be confident in working with a wide variety of people across the organisation and willing to take the lead on administrative processes.

We are looking for someone with

– Diploma in Business Support/Administration or equivalent. 

– Minimum of 2 years of previous experience of office administration;

– Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work;

– Good IT skills, especially Excel and web-based systems;

Severn Wye is looking for a caring, confident individual to support people facing fuel poverty and champion energy efficiency.

This role is at the forefront of what we do as an organisation. You will be working across Gloucestershire or Heerfordshire or South Gloucestershire , visiting people in their own homes and giving advice at community events.

This role is home-based but requires extensive travel within the area. It can be either full or part time.

As a Community-based Energy Adviser, you will focus on supporting and educating individuals and families who face barriers to accessing energy services and may be in fuel poverty. You will be working with people in their homes or advising them at events in their local community. You will support them through the process of managing and reducing debt, accessing funding and engaging with smart technology.

This can be a demanding role – some of your clients will be facing huge challenges – but it is extremely rewarding and you will be making a measurable difference to people’s quality of life. You will give at-risk consumers the knowledge and confidence to be more engaged in their energy use and able to make sound decisions to manage it — ultimately putting money back in their pockets and improving their resilience and wellbeing. You will be a positive, intuitive and caring ally, empowering people who are overwhelmed by the world of energy and who may be facing multiple economic and societal challenges.
