About the Role
The Retail Business Manager, South provides a new opportunity to be a part of the evolution of Save the Children Retail.
This role will play a pivotal part in leading and inspiring change, motivating teams, bringing the Save the Children culture and our vision to life.
This role will be vital in providing clarity and direction with regards to how we operate (see our How Our Shops Operate document attached), guiding and engaging shop teams to drive the business to optimum operational success, as well as harnessing commerciality and embracing localism in line with each shop's proposition.
The current shops you'll manage include Sidmouth, Totnes, Clapham, and Lymington but please note that these shops/locations will change as the business evolves.
About You
Essential skills & experience:
• You'll have exceptional people management skills, including strong leadership and motivational skills.
• You will be entrepreneurial and driven by results with the ability to recognise and prioritise opportunities with the greatest potential.

Ways of Working:

Main duties
Programme Support

Provide support across Causeway's broad portfolio of programmes, such as online mentoring, insight days, work experience weeks and university and employer outreach schemes

Organise programme-related events, such as workshops/webinars

Deliver online and in-person workshops to students and stakeholders, alongside other members of the Programmes Team

Look after our shared inboxes and share queries with relevant team members

Support the collection of information as part of programme reporting requirements

Support in the design and creation of new programme resources

Support other team members with management of external communications including the Causeway website, Twitter account and newsletters

They are looking for an individual with a strong background in the field of public affairs. Board meetings and time commitment
The Board ordinarily meets four times per year in March, May, August and November. Two of these meetings are held remotely via video call on a Saturday, and two are held in person in London across weekends. An appropriate time commitment will be required over the course of the year for preparative work between meetings. Trustees are also invited to attend occasional charity events and join recruitment panels on an ad hoc basis.
Following a probationary period where Trustee-elects attend at least 3 board meetings, appointed Trustees serve a three-year term, with the option to renew for a further three years.
This is a relatively new Trustee role for the charity, therefore you will be expected to play a key role in shaping strategy and sharing knowledge and expertise with other Trustees. Trusteeship is an unremunerated position, though reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.

Our Community Fundraisers are the face of Marie Curie in their local communities, building relationships and networks with a wide and varied range of supporters. Due to the requirement to be London based, this post holder can choose if they opt to recieve an additional £3,500 LLW on top of the offered annual salary. Breck Foundation
Breck Foundation is a unique and dynamic organisation that makes a real difference. The charity was founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. We inform, educate and campaign to help young people and the wider UK public reclaim the internet from those who seek to harm others through it. Our educational programmes reach thousands of students, parents and safeguarding professionals each year.
The Project
Over the last few years, the Breck Foundation worked closely with Volunteer Police Cadet Units in Surrey and Tower Hamlets to train cadets as ‘Breck Ambassadors’, equipping them with the training needed to talk in schools to their peers about staying safe online and the key signs of grooming.
We are proud to take this successful project further having secured funding with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC) to recruit and train up to 30 ‘Youth Ambassadors’ (for online safety) in schools across Sussex. The Youth Ambassadors will learn how to tell Breck’s story and empower young people with the tools they need to stay safe online. Working closely with schools to enable the students to become Online Safety Ambassadors for their school community, advocate for their peers and to be a voice of expertise and counsel. You will work with schools and community groups to generate impact through Breck’s story (on online grooming) and other important topics related to children’s online safety.
This flagship project for the OSPCC will launch in April 2025 (Coordinator starts in January 2025) and run for at least 12 months, with potential funding up to three years. We hope it will set a precedent for others to follow our lead and develop similar programmes for young people across the UK.
