About the charity:

Chuf supports Heart Heroes and their families; "for hearts, for families for life". They do this through supporting innovative research, providing equipment, facilities, and aftercare, and offering services to support both the physical and mental health.

Working across the Children's Heart Unit at Freeman Hospital and the six district hospitals across the Northeast of England their aim is to help where the NHS can't, providing support to these children and their families as soon as they require specialist care.

About the role:

This is an unmissable opportunity for someone to move into a fundraising role within a supportive and collaborative fundraising team. The Fundraising Assistant will be a key member of the team, supporting current and new fundraising opportunities for Chuf. You'll be providing full support to the fundraising team, assisting in building relationships with supporters to identify fundraising opportunities. You'll also help the team implement strategic plans and develop contact through face to face meetings and presentations.

You'll also be the first point of contact for Chuf's supporters, processing donations and providing fundraising materials. You will help the fundraising team with campaigns, events and mailings, providing administration support.

Events & Services Executive
Daily rate £133.33 PAYE (made up of £118 candidate pay and £15 holiday pay)

This role will provide vital support to the team across event management and administrative services. • Coordinate and execute the planning and delivery of flagship events, including liaising with vendors, managing logistics, and ensuring seamless event operations.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.

Your new role

• Reporting to the Management Accountant.
• Producing regular monthly journals, including intercompany recharges, accruals and prepayments etc.
• Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts/budget holder reports for designated departments.
• Undertaking preliminary variance analysis between budgets, forecasts and actuals and drafting variance commentary.
• Calculating, recording, monitoring and payment of grants.
• Investigating discrepancies and unexpected variances, making corrections if required.
• Undertaking ad-hoc analysis.
• Assisting in review and preparation of phased budgets, financial plans and forecasts and loading budgets and forecasts into SAP.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong Excel skills and experience with manipulating large volumes of data.
• Experience of working in the finance function of a large organisation, including in a management accounting context.
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting adjustments such as accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
• Either part-qualified or looking to start studying.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines and have a flexible approach to work.

For a large commercially focused charity in London, we're recruiting a Property and Asset Manager for a 6-month contract to manage the performance of their property assets portfolio and ensure the delivery of a high-quality service to all users. The portfolio is a mix of commercial freehold, leasehold and managed service sites in the UK and some internationally. The Property and Asset Manager will report to the Director of Commercial Operations and will lead the management of freehold and leasehold commitments and develop both short-term and long-term property strategies.

Main Duties:

• Manage the performance of the property assets and ensure a high-quality of service delivery for a mix of around 40 properties across its portfolio of commercial freehold, leasehold and managed services sits in the UK and internationally
• Establish KPIs for properties across the portfolio
• Contribute to a strategic review of rental income
• Establish a clear reporting process for the documentation and budget planning for management and forecasting of property commitments
• Creation of a policy and review schedule for the capabilities of property assets between corporate sites and training sites

About the role

This is an awesome role focussed on improving our ways of working and processes when it comes to those who support us. We want all of our supporters to have a first class experience when they decide to donate their time and/or money to supporting children and young people with cancer and their families. However we know that as an organisation we have more to do to make this happen and the time is now.

Working in Income Generation, this role will take a recently conducted diagnostic carried out by a business improvement consultant and not only work through the next steps but make change happen, prioritising the areas with the biggest wins. This role really will have a lasting legacy in the organisation.

We're not just looking for someone to map change, this person will lead operational design and process re-engineering that transforms the Income Generation directorate and it's workforce into high achievers. 

You’ll be based within the Project Management Office (PMO), a supportive team of professionals that lead transformational change across the organisation as well as corporate planning. You’ll also have close relationship with the Head of Planning and Strategy in Income Generation as well as the Associate Director Supporter Engagement.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Building on the diagnostics carried out already within Income Generation directorate to optimise organisational design and scope improvements. 
• Using the diagnostics to identify pain areas, develop a sequenced plan to tackle these issues and then implement the plan to improve performance, processes and services i.e. “getting hands dirty”.
• Embedding a culture of improvement in the organisation and developing these capabilities within the workforce.
• All of these activities will involve facilitating workshops, engaging audiences with tailored communications, debating and negotiating ideas with leaders, managing governance, risks and dependencies, evaluating progress etc.

• Experience of delivering transformational change by using process improvement principles & methodologies such as TQM, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma to design services and processes that deliver value, efficiency, higher quality, lower costs and better results
