Main duties of the job

Strategy: work in partnership with the hospital to develop the Charity's Strategy. Implement and deliver the Strategy, securing sustainability by diversifying funding streams, inspiring philanthropic giving and growing the brand.

Putting people first: model inclusive and collaborative behaviours that foster a sense of belonging. Motivate staff and others to deliver our vision and mission. Coach, inspire and motivate the team, empowering them to achieve their potential and ensuring they in turn build a culture that respects and values staff.

Delivery and governance: direct Charity operations, manage resources effectively and ensure compliance with legal and governance requirements. Oversee effective systems and structures that reflect good practice. Provide accountability to donors by working with grant recipients to ensure funds are spent for the greatest impact. Work collaboratively with clinicians, patients and others to develop compelling fundraising cases.

Stakeholder engagement, brand profile and reputation: deliver a communications strategy that shares engaging and motivating messages internally and externally, demonstrating the impact of continued giving. Contribute to donor and partner relationships, working in partnership with stakeholders to identify (where appropriate) approaches to high value potential supporters.

Data and Insight Analyst

Salary: £33,410 to £36,009 per annum

About the role

We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with data, and providing business intelligence that leads to action. If you love creating simple ways to explain complex data, and are excited by revealing the stories hidden within the data, then this could be the role for you.

Your main focus will be to provide reporting and research for our fundraising and marketing initiatives, helping to create a clear view of our marketing directorate performance. You will work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders to understand business intelligence requirements, scope out projects and deliver reporting to agreed specifications.

You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that reporting is used and a data-driven culture established. The outputs from your work will lead to insight that supports strategy development, and future investment decisions. Some projects will focus on other areas of organisational data, such as measuring our impact, or our financial model, as required.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have proven experience in analysing data and producing reporting, ideally using some advanced techniques for data extraction and manipulation (such as SQL) and a modern data visualisation tool (such as Power BI or Tableau). Full training will be provided, to enable the postholder to develop into a fully rounded data analyst, including training in the maintenance and development of our in-house data warehouse. 

About you

We are looking for a pro-active self starter, who has a passion for working with data and a hunger to learn. You will be patient and methodical in your work, and be able to focus both on the technical aspects of data analysis and reporting, and also understand the strategic thinking that your work will contribute to.

You’ll be great at building relationships with stakeholders, and be comfortable in communicating complex information through a variety of means. 

Your work will help to ensure that we maximise efficiency in our fundraising programmes, and as such you’ll be comfortable challenging the status quo, and making suggestions for how we might change, as we look to continuously improve.

Key Working Relationships

The successful candidate will work closely with all colleagues from within the Marketing Directorate, IT, Finance, Fundraising, and potentially all areas of Practical Action here there may be reporting needs.

External relationships with consultants/agencies, and third party software suppliers.

Accountabilities:

• To contribute towards the development and production of a large and complex portfolio of reports, produced by the Data and Insight Team. 
• To work closely with colleagues to embed reporting into day-to-day work, encouraging a data-driven and evidence-based approach to decision making.
• To work with the Senior Data Services Analyst, Data and Insight Manager and IT, to develop our data structures and architecture, enabling a robust data model and real-time reporting.
• Develop our use of Power BI, our data visualisation tool of choice, keeping up to date with latest reporting technologies and proposing changes and enhancements to such software where appropriate.
• To work with colleagues across the marketing directorate and wider Organisation to understand business intelligence requirements, scope out projects and deliver reporting to agreed specifications, presenting complex information through a variety of means.   
• To work with marketing audience strategists and the Data and Insight Manager in the commissioning and production of research, and contribute to statistical modelling projects.
• To propose and pro-actively undertaking supporter analysis with the aim of promoting efficiencies and value for money within fundraising campaigns.
• Play a key role in strategic projects, as required, acting as a subject matter expert for data, covering a range of topics, such as supporter journey mapping, process documentation / re-design, software implementation to name just a few.
• Conducting marketing data selections, to provide fundraising colleagues with carefully curated data which will power marketing campaigns.

PERSON PROFILE

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• A self-starter, able to work on own initiative to meet goals / objectives.

• Working knowledge of GDPR and data protection and fundraising regulations and compliance.

Desirable

• An understanding of data warehousing techniques.

• Working knowledge of SQL (basic SELECT statements, JOINS and GROUPING data, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), Partitions, Aggregate Functions).
• Experienced using a statistical analysis package such as SPSS and a working knowledge of statistical techniques such as CHAID and logistic regression.
• Knowledge of fundraising, and market research techniques and methodologies.
• Experience of producing reporting within Power BI.

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is the national charity caring for historic churches at risk. As the operator of the third largest heritage estate in charitable ownership in the UK, our 356 historic churches include examples of irreplaceable architecture, archaeology and art from 1,000 years of English history.

Sound & Art at St Swithun’s

Sound & Art at St Swithun’s (SASS) is a £2.8M Heritage Lottery Funded project, to create an arts space in the heart of Worcester city centre. The Grade I listed church has been transformed through conservation and adaptation, giving it a new lease of life. SASS launched in late October 2022.

You will provide effective on-site caretaking and cleaning services as part of the Sound & Art at St Swithun’s Team. Be responsible for a comprehensive internal communication programme which includes multiple engagement channels and all staff events - driving internal engagement with key strategic documents such as the business plan.

Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance you will act as an effective member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic and collective leadership of settle. Other responsibilities include.

• Leading and inspiring a modern, fit for purpose customer focused Finance team to ensure that it contributes strategically across the organisation so that the business is enabled to deliver the strategic and operational objectives set out in the Strategic Plan
• Owning the Finance Annual Delivery Plan that maps out their programme of work to deliver their annual objectives.
• Managing the finance function to deliver robust financial controls, improving performance and mitigating the risk for settle group.
• Ensuring the organisation is resourced with the appropriate skills, capabilities, systems and processes to deliver the strategies that are put in place by the Executive.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for a forward-thinking Finance Director with a proven track record of engaging with and improving the service delivered to their customers. 

The ideal candidate will have worked in social housing or other relevant industries and be looking to join an organisation committed to its social purpose. You will be a qualified accountant, have led a successful finance function and had some board or committee experience.

Senior Public Fundraising Officer

The Eve Appeal

The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading charity working on prevention of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Our aim is to prevent gynaecological cancers and save lives by raising awareness and funding ground-breaking research focused on risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the five gynae cancers.

What's this role about?

This exciting position is responsible for delivering our fundraising programme to the public, with support from our Deputy Head of Fundraising.

You will focus on delivering key fundraising activities and an exceptional experience to a wide range of supporters, ensuring that you deepen relationships and maximise value. You will also coordinate and deliver the marketing of our public fundraising activity, alongside colleagues in communications and digital engagement.

The role works across three key areas:

• Individual giving (direct marketing, regular giving, in-memory)
• Sporting events & challenges (virtual challenges, running events, our annual bespoke trek)
• Community fundraising (campaigns, community groups, ad-hoc fundraisers)

We do not expect you to have experience across all three areas.

This role is also responsible for the line management of our Fundraising Assistant, who you will help to develop in their role and ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Person specification

To fulfil this role, we believe you will need the following skills and experiences:

• Strong copywriting skills with experience targeting various audiences, channels, and activities.
• Understanding of digital marketing.
• Excellent relationship building skills.
• Ability to analyse data, derive insights, and present findings to influence decision making.

• Ability to confidently use database software. Experience of Raiser’s Edge NXT is an advantage.
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail.

The role will have two main areas of focus: 1) National communications: establishing Thrive at Five’s national presence to influence policy, funding and practices and attract future partners (funders, future pathfinder areas and other strategic partners); 2) Regional Communications; work with our local backbone teams to deliver a communications strategy which supports our two strategic drivers; 1) to build relationships and strengthen understanding of the early years with key professional stakeholders, and 2) to reach local parents to build their knowledge, confidence and skills and encourage them to take up support on offer.

You will have solid strategic communications experience, with an excellent track record in developing and executing innovative communications plans. You will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and committed to the need for continued learning and improvement necessary for Thrive at Five to develop a new place-based model for supporting early childhood development. The successful candidate will bring experience of managing a broad range of stakeholders and supporting a network of partners and will be adept at managing and coaching staff, with the ability to upskill team members. You will also have excellent organisational and project management skills. It would be beneficial to have experience of working nationally with engagement across local teams, and ideally with good experience of how to best utilise digital communications.
