The post holder will become an active member of the Charitable Services team, promoting the delivery of accessible social opportunities in our local communities. The main tasks delivered to achieve this will be:

• To support a monthly local social group for people with dual sensory loss;
• To support a Peterborough-based social group for people with vision loss to deliver their regular activities;
• To co-ordinate any volunteers who provide help at the social groups;
• To work with local people with sensory loss to research the services and support that can best assist them;
• To develop and maintain a wide network of connections to key partner organisations in order to promote the work of Deafblind UK;
• To represent Deafblind UK and its members at local events, within online meetings and forums and to promote the service and generate service user referrals;
• To provide support for Deafblind UK’s Technology Service Lead in the hosting of our Peterborough based technology focus group, as required.

We're hiring a specialist women’s refuge, Service Manager. Someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our new service in West London. • Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

About this key role
St Giles Trust and the West Midlands Domestic Abuse Victim Support Service Consortium are partnering to provide DA offender intervention and tailored DA victim support. Our successful candidate will engage with offenders in police custody once they have been identified as being perpetrators of domestic abuse and will have responsibility to build positive relationships and work directly with the offender in custody to promote positive change, build resilience, reduce risks, and prevent further harm through DA offending.

You will produce DA offender risk management plans based on assessments and ensure that the DA perpetrator understands the consequences of their DA offending behaviour and works towards accepting responsibility for their actions and to positively change their behaviour.  We will also count on you to always promote and protect the safety of the victim(s) and families and to collaborate closely with all key stakeholders to ensure that increases in risk of harm are escalated rapidly and a multi-agency plan is in place. Delivering a holistic support service as the situation dictates is also a key element of the role.

• Several years of professional experience of similar role
• Experience of completing risk assessments and safeguarding victims, children, and families 
• Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and the ability to assess clients’ needs

At SSAFA Safeguarding is everybody’s business. Adelphi Court is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. Our service is partially staffed between the hours of 09:00 and 21:30, with a mixture of shifts to cover service delivery. You will be required to work every second weekend.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. Whether it’s developing their domestic and finance management skills or accessing work, leisure or educational opportunities, one thing’s for sure ‐ you will have every chance to shine.

No relevant experience is required as full training will be provided, although candidates with an understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience would be welcomed. YMCA What is Sexual Exploitation (WiSE) works to prevent and disrupt the sexual exploitation of children and young people aged 5-25 across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove, and Surrey. We are a specialist team of passionate, dedicated professionals who support each other to work in this challenging area. We deliver trauma informed, consent-based work with young people, schools, statutory services and Sussex Police. We focus on one-to-one interventions as well as group work, training for professionals.

As a Sexual Exploitation Worker SOLAH ("safer online at home") you will provide early intervention support to children and young people 5-25 years who have been identified as being at risk of sexual or criminal exploitation. In this role you will support these young people to stay safe online and, in their communities, by providing consultation, support and guidance to other professionals working directly with children and young people who are at risk of being exploited. Exploring risk, healthy/unhealthy relationships, sex and consent, negotiation and assertiveness, protective behaviours, personal boundaries, harmful sexual behaviours, gender identities and concepts of masculinity. 

You will work in partnership with Sussex Police delivering short term interventions to young people who have been identified as having shared sexual content online. In addition, you will deliver Child Sexual Exploitation training to the wider professional workforce.

You will be primarily based in our partner Eastbourne office and travel to meet young people across East Sussex, with some opportunity to work from home. Work pattern can be discussed at interview. It is essential you hold a full UK driving license and have access to your own car for this role.
