We have an exciting opportunity to join our Volunteering and Community Networks Team as we roll out our new Volunteer Management System to over 3000 volunteers and staff. This role is ideal if you’re experienced in supporting and leading volunteers, with excellent interpersonal skills and experience in supporting individuals remotely with learning and development needs.

You’ll be passionate about developing learning solutions, and you’ll take a collaborative approach with our volunteers and staff to identify support needs and develop solutions together.

You’ll have a successful track record of developing e-learning. And in this role you’ll work closely with colleagues across Volunteering and Community Networks to develop tools and activities which allow volunteers and staff to fully embrace and embed our new Volunteer Management System.

You’ll be joining us at an exciting stage of our development and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and friendly team.

This is an exciting role to support Peak District Mosaic in delivering their new project, Championing National Parks for Everyone, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week. Some weekend and evening work will be required.

Contract length: 20-month fixed term (until August 2026).

Location: Hybrid. Two days a week working from home, with one day per week in a shared office space in Bakewell. Occasional travel to the Peak District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park, and North York Moors National Park will be required.

Pay: £27,825 Full-time Equivalent

Annual leave allowance: 27 days plus bank holidays, pro-rata.

Job purpose

Reporting to the Development Manager, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for delivering a series of events to support the project’s network of Community Champions. This group will receive training from the National Parks so that they have the skills and knowledge to run safe and enjoyable activities within the National Park for friends, family, and community members. The Project Coordinator will organise a series of training, networking, and celebration events to further upskill this group and to bring them together to celebrate their successes and share best practices.

The Project Coordinator will also provide administrative support for the project as a whole, working closely with other project staff to maintain effective records of activities and finances, and supporting the Development Manager to submit grant reports and payment requests to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Key responsibilities

Deliver Peak District Mosaic’s support to Community Champions

• Set up a series of training opportunities for Community Champions to help develop their skills further, for instance, setting up Outdoor First Aid training with a training provider or supporting Community Champions to access Hill Skills or Mountain Leader training.
• Organise a series of networking events and a residential to bring the Community Champion network together, celebrate successes, provide peer support, and share best practices.
• Work with the Development Manager and the Community Champion network to develop ongoing support for Community Champions across the three National Parks, including developing our website to provide information and new opportunities.
• Develop content for our website and social media, including working with Community Champions who will be trained to create their own videos on how to visit the National Parks.
• Attend Community Champion training days in the National Parks occasionally to strengthen relationships between Community Champions and Peak District Mosaic.

Support project management of Championing National Parks for Everyone

• Support the Development Manager in organising project steering group and project delivery meetings, including arranging venues, sending agendas, and circulating minutes and actions.
• Monitor the project’s outputs, outcomes, and expenditure, liaising with other project staff at the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, and Peak District National Parks to ensure up-to-date information about activities, outputs, and outcomes is collected.
• Assist the Development Manager in reporting project finances, outputs, and outcomes to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, submitting quarterly reports, and meeting with NLHF as per their guidance.
• Support project communications by updating the Peak District Mosaic website, creating social media posts, and writing press releases.
• Update appropriate documentation, such as project plans and risk registers, as required.

Hours / work pattern: 5 days / 35hrs per week preferred, but 4 days / 28hrs considered

ESOL Coordinator Vacancy

Learn English at Home (LEAH) is looking for a motivated, dynamic, and flexible individual with experience in the community, voluntary, or education sectors to join their team. You should have a background of working with people from diverse communities who have limited English.

The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing learners for ESOL, coordinating and supervising volunteers, and organising workshops and classes. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential, as well as the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities. IT literacy and the ability to monitor outcomes using databases are crucial. 

You should be adept at working independently both face to face across our boroughs and online. While also being a team player who can help the team meet its targets.  An ESOL qualification or relevant equivalent would be desirable, along with knowledge of local services and demographics.

About Welcome Friends 

Welcome Friends helps to alleviate loneliness and isolation in the over 50’s in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf by recruiting and training volunteers who are subsequently matched to beneficiaries who will visit them every week. Young people from lower income families are 40% less likely to go to University than wealthier peers (Dept for Education, 2020) which can have a lifelong impact on earning potential. Covid-19 has deepened inequalities (Social Mobility Foundation, 2022) and negatively impacted on young people's wellbeing (GirlGuiding, 2020). We believe that no girls should have their futures limited by their gender, sex, ethnicity, background, or parental income and they should be supported to realise their ambitions, to discover their self-worth, and to develop their capacity to shape their world and their futures.

We work in communities of least advantage across England to deliver two core programmes to achieve this vision. Through our mentoring programme we connect 14-19 year old girls with a mentor and a wider network of role models who are women and deliver opportunities which help them to build life skills and nurture their ambitions. Based on the idea that 'you can't be what you can't see', our mentors often help girls to broaden their horizons and create a more positive vision of their futures. After the programme, the mentees can join a free, lifelong network of support - our Ambassador Community, which offers further opportunities to reach their goals, build their confidence and to share their voices and experiences.

Our programmes help girls and young women to develop the knowledge, skills, self-belief and opportunities to thrive, and to be supported as part of a network that champions them and ensures their voices are heard.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 13 staff based throughout the UK. There is a small team of three based in the London. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across the region, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region. You will play a crucial role setting up our 121 mentoring programmes, liaising with schools, recruiting mentors and ensuring that we have the right mentors for the mentees on programme. You will also deliver our workshop programme within the area.

Mentoring programme

• Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
• Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
• Deliver events and workshops for mentees.
• Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
• Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
• Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
• Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
• Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network. process in line with our child protection policy.
• Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships

We already have nine shops located in Westbury-on-Trym, Yate, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cinderford, Bath, Thornbury and most recently Keynsham but plan to open up to four new shops a year over the next five years, giving our charity a physical presence in the heart of communities we have served since 2007.

The shops will sell a variety of goods, as well as being a hub for our charity activity locally. Our shops need to perform well financially to help fund our lifesaving service, but we also want them to be a place where everyone feels welcome, the local community can learn life-saving skills and former patients or supporters can pop in for a chat.

The Role

As our Shop Manager you will lead a team of volunteers to raise funds to invest in achieving the charity’s goal to save lives in Yorkshire. Reporting to the Retail Area Manager, you will portray the charity as a professional, credible brand which acts with integrity and provide excellent customer service, ensuring volunteers, donors and customers know how their contribution is helping the people of Yorkshire. 

Specifically, you will:

· Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards.

· Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays.

· Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment.

· Have line manager responsibility for assistant manager, working together to ensure there is management cover and sufficient volunteers to operate all trading hours.

About You

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.

We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide a high-impact education programme which includes practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping over 50,000 young people each year at its 43 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our new IntoUniversity centre in Gateshead. You will have responsibility for setting up, launching and running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. However, a substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

What will my main dutires be?

The Catalyst Collective is an innovative and rapidly growing non-profit organisation. Since our pilot programme launched in January 2021, we have expanded significantly. As we enter our fourth year of operation, we are seeking an organised and proactive Programme Manager to play a pivotal role in driving our growth and ensuring the successful delivery of our mentoring programmes.

We're looking for an efficient, friendly Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our team. Much of our work is delivered by volunteers, so this post is critical to our service delivery. You will recruit, induct, and coordinate volunteers; including leading our Good Neighbours Scheme and Befriending Scheme and supporting the recruitment for all other projects. 

About you: You will have experience of volunteering and in coordinating volunteers or staff, and have strong organisational and communication skills. You will be pro-active and diligent and able to solve problems as they arise.
