About the Role
Located in Cockermouth, our shop is situated in a warm and inviting community setting. As Store Manager you'll be leading an active and dedicated volunteer team of around 30 as well as focusing on building strong connections within the local community to ensure the shop's continued success.
About You
You will be someone with exceptional people skills, a leader who understands the importance of community and enjoys supporting people to exercise similar passions through volunteering.
You'll bring:
- Proven experience leading and motivating teams, ideally having managed volunteers, or a retail team previously
- A strong understanding of what good looks like in a busy and successful community-led shop, ideally with some experience within Retail or a clear passion for sustainable fashion and knowledge of products and trends
- A can-do attitude and ability to approach challenges in a positive way, knowing when to reach out for support and guidance where you need it.
Previous charity retail experience is ideal, but not essential. If you have transferable leadership skills or experience managing volunteers in other settings and are looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you!

Job Purpose
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator position sits within the Research, Evidence and Learning team and will make a key contribution to the quality of our programmes. The post holder will keep abreast of state-of-the-art M&E approaches to ensure the use of technically appropriate monitoring and evaluation models and information systems. The post holder will support the design of new programmes as well as provide technical advice and input to the monitoring, evaluation and learning of existing programmes. The Coordinator will also play a crucial role in ensuring that our external communications and policy work (at all levels) are informed by and accurately represent our evidence base.
Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead the development of proposals from a MEL perspective, including contributing to and leading on theories of change, and the development of MEL frameworks. Design, lead and manage participatory processes to establish country programme MEL systems. Lead development of organisational tools and processes – e.g. developing reporting templates for project reports where not supplied by the donor Lead the development of quality programme standards and tools for their implementation. Advise on and support the building of an evidence base of impact. Support development of theories of change for development of strategic goals for Health Alliances. Support the development of indicators and monitoring of Alliance activity. Support the design and implementation of evaluations. Building MEL Capacity Provide hand-on technical assistance to teams in the monitoring, evaluation and review of existing projects. Support staff with development/use of MEL tools and processes. Provide input and assistance to MEL activities, including data collection and analysis, and evaluation design. Foster learning within programmes, through sharing lessons learnt, evaluation results as well as playing a key role in strengthening organisational learning. Overall purpose
The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.
You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.
We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. We are looking for a passionate individual who can get people excited about the work we do and who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals from a refugee background. The Role
The Programme Funding Manager provides cross-team support to strengthen the organisation’s funding and budget management functions and ensure the successful delivery of GGF’s grantmaking and other programmatic activities. This includes collaborating with multiple teams within GGF UK and GGF US including the Programmes, Grants Management, Finance and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to design and implement systems, processes and improvements to ensure high quality budget management and high standards of donor and regulatory compliance across all funded activity.
The role is responsible for the budget management of all GGF UK-funded programmatic activities, working with Programmes colleagues, Advisory Board representatives, donor relationship managers, Finance staff and others to ensure funds are spent appropriately in line with project plans and donor obligations.
The candidate profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have substantial experience in a similar capacity within charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, or human rights organisations, particularly in an international setting. They will be adept at enhancing collaboration across multiple functional teams, including those operating internationally, to ensure effective and compliant funding and budget management, especially with restricted income. The candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in designing, managing, and refining systems and processes for better budget management and donor compliance in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Their experience should include managing large, multi-year programmatic budgets exceeding $5 million and ensuring adherence to donor agreements and regulatory requirements, such as those of the Charity Commission.

Job Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and technical support of the Finance function and acts as advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and assists in the development of the organisation’s financial strategy, modelling new projects, preparing budgets and reporting on financial performance.
You will also be responsible for maintaining accounts on Xero and all related bookkeeping tasks.

Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for the organisation and individual cost centres, including variance analysis and reports for the Board. Person Specification
The post requires the holder to:

Have an appropriate accounting qualification – in full or part (AAT, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA);

About the Role
As Deputy Service Manager, you will manage a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to care leavers in supported accommodation and outreach services.

The charity was founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. We inform, educate and campaign to help young people and the wider UK public reclaim the internet from those who seek to harm others through it. Our educational programmes reach thousands of students, parents and safeguarding professionals each year.
The Project
Over the last few years, the Breck Foundation worked closely with Volunteer Police Cadet Units in Surrey and Tower Hamlets to train cadets as ‘Breck Ambassadors’, equipping them with the training needed to talk in schools to their peers about staying safe online and the key signs of grooming.
We are proud to take this successful project further having secured funding with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC) to recruit and train up to 30 ‘Youth Ambassadors’ (for online safety) in schools across Sussex. The Youth Ambassadors will learn how to tell Breck’s story and empower young people with the tools they need to stay safe online. Working closely with schools to enable the students to become Online Safety Ambassadors for their school community, advocate for their peers and to be a voice of expertise and counsel. You will work with schools and community groups to generate impact through Breck’s story (on online grooming) and other important topics related to children’s online safety.
This flagship project for the OSPCC will launch in April 2025 (Coordinator starts in January 2025) and run for at least 12 months, with potential funding up to three years. We hope it will set a precedent for others to follow our lead and develop similar programmes for young people across the UK.
