The Communications Manager (Campaigns and Projects) will be a skilled communications professional with strong campaign and project management skills and a passion for driving the conversation about dementia.
They’ll be a proactive team player with excellent writing skills, experience of engaging across different channels, from PR to digital, and a track record of delivering integrated communications campaigns with impact.
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Manager (Campaigns and Projects) will work collaboratively across the department and wider organisation to support the timely and effective delivery of large communications projects – including the charity’s flagship Think Brain Health public health campaign, and the biennial Dementia Attitudes Monitor survey. They will put strategic thinking into action to help identify key communications priority areas across the charity and facilitate the generation of creative cross-channel content to engage the public with these important issues.
This post holder will need to have extensive experience of planning and managing multiple projects – ideally public health campaigns and/or attitudinal insight work - and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Work collaboratively across the charity to lead and coordinate communications activity around dementia prevention/risk reduction, including the charity’s Think Brain Health campaign, by developing and delivering digital content; testing and developing messaging; and overseeing paid media activity.
· Work with colleagues in Digital and Marketing depts to continue to develop, optimise and promote the Think Brain Health ‘check-in’, including refining onward email journeys, testing and developing paid media activity, and ensuring the check-in drives the most value for Alzheimer's Research UK.
· Lead the development of the news section of Alzheimer's Research UK’s website, in collaboration with our Digital department, including planning content across the Communications teams, optimising user experience, ensuring effective allocation of paid media budget, and monitoring content performance.
· Ensure our prevention/risk reduction activity reaches appropriate audiences, including underserved communities, working closely with our Dementia Community Champions and Information Services teams
· Provide project management support to large-scale communications projects across the department, working collaboratively with fellow Communications Managers to support the smooth and timely delivery of ambitious projects including PR campaigns, video production, launches and a wide range of digital engagement projects.
· Lead the design, planning and delivery of our biennial Dementia Attitudes Monitor, including identifying opportunities for subsequent communications activity, working with other Communications Managers as appropriate.
· Monitor relevant media coverage; keep up to date with social, scientific and charitable sector issues which could benefit Alzheimer’s Research UK.
· Line manager of the Communications Officer (Campaigns & Projects), setting goals, monitoring performance and providing effective support, constructive feedback and development opportunities as appropriate.
· Maintain oversight of key areas of work carried out by the Communications Officer (Campaigns & Projects), managing workload and ensuring their time is appropriately managed to provide support where it’s most needed across the department.

What we are looking for:
· Knowledge of the core components of good communications campaigns, how to ensure and evaluate their success.

· Ability to creatively distil complex topics into engaging content.
· Ability to communicate appropriately and sensitively with people affected by dementia.
· Confidence working with computers; knowledge of Microsoft office packages and databases, good keyboard skills
· A confident and friendly manner; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centered basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.

On-site at Glass Door Night shelter venues in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham or Wandsworth

Shifts from 6:45pm or 9:45pm to 7.15am (plus additional time if allocated driver). Hours and days of work will vary according to the needs of the service.
We are looking to recruit exceptional individuals with an open, collaborative style and a practical, can-do approach to provide a vital nightly service for our guests as Overnight Project Workers.
We value diversity and welcome all, in particular those with life experience and lived experience.
While experience of working within the homelessness sector or with similarly vulnerable people would be desirable, an understanding of the needs of people experiencing homelessness and working in a compassionate and flexible manner is more important and essential.
Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that will include weekends and public holidays. Due to the vulnerable group you will be working with, you will be asked to undergo an enhanced DBS check as part of our safeguarding measures prior to appointment.
Please note:
Some of our Overnight Project Workers are required to have a driving licence and be able to drive a manual vehicle.
However, this post also is still suitable for those that want a non-driving role.
On each shift, one of the two Overnight Project Workers will be an allocated driver and is expected to drive the van back to its local base in Fulham or Wandsworth, depending on the shelter circuit. The allocated driver for the shift will receive an additional hour of pay for this task.
What you will do as part of our team
The Overnight Project Worker is responsible for the following:
Job spec
- Maintaining a friendly, supportive environment and cultivating positive relationships with guests, colleagues, and volunteers.
- Following best practice procedures for the security and safety of the guests and volunteers.
- Diffusing difficult or dangerous situations and summon assistance when necessary. Training will be provided. Writing regular shift reports using the In-Form client relationship platform.
- Carrying out regular checks around the shelter, checking conditions of all areas.
- Ensuring that the van is loaded correctly with shelter provisions and that no Glass Door belongings are left on site.
- Adhering to Glass Door’s operational and health & safety policies in all aspects of your work. Maintaining clear lines of communication with your colleagues including the Night Shelter Manager, Caseworkers, and the Operations Manager.
- Ensuring cleaning protocols are followed and implemented.
- Undertaking any other duties to aid the good running of the project, as required by the Shelter Manager or Operations Manager.
- Accurately reporting observations, interactions, concerns and actions with guests to their caseworker using written reports.
- Setting up and help serve a simple breakfast for guests in the morning
- Ensuring all guests are woken from 6am onwards and leave the building by 7am
- Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.
On occasions you will also be expected to attend training, team meetings and other activities as required. The allocated driver is expected to drive the van back to its allocated base at the end of the shift to which an additional hour of pay applies for this task.

About the organisation
The Environment Investigation Agency investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse. The Role
The fundraising team at EIA, is responsible for raising income across trusts and statutory funders, as well as raising funds from individuals. The income raised from public fundraising has increased in recent years and they are investing in this area to further increase unrestricted income so that we can conduct even more investigative and campaigning work to protect our natural world.

* Lead on the production of key supporter engagement pieces, the Year in Review and Supporter newsletters, including: curating the content, copywriting, data, as well as liaising with the mailing house and graphic designer.
* Plan, implement and evaluate digital and offline supporter-driven supporter journeys from all individual giving audiences, including appeals, digital, regular giving and the weekly lottery
* Work with the Senior Individual Giving Officer on the 40th anniversary supporter engagement activities
* Work closely with the Senior Individual Giving Officer, Supporter Services Officer and teams across the organisation (including the Communications and Campaign teams) to develop inspiring and targeted content and communications that increase engagement and lifetime value of supporters
* Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of supporter journeys
* Along with the Supporter Services Officer, be a key point of contact for supporters, ensuring that all supporters have a positive experience
New Supporter Acquisition
* Lead on all aspects of supporter acquisition through digital and telephone channels, ensuring that all campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the campaign KPIs:
* Weekly Lottery acquisition campaigns - promoting to both new and existing supporters, to acquire new lottery players and raise regular income.
* Digital lead generation and acquisition campaigns - to recruit new cash and regular givers
* Telephone fundraising campaigns - to recruit new, and reactivate lapsed, regular giving supporters using leads from a variety of online and offline sources.

The role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations
• Leadership and line management of team; oversight of sessional facilitators and contractors used by team
• Setting programme budget and service targets; monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery against these
• Playing a key part in building, broadening and developing new funding for these programmes and maintaining relationships with current funders
