As the Essex Recovery Fund Officer, you will play a crucial role within the Radical Change team at Essex Recovery Foundation. The role will oversee the Essex Recovery Fund, a fund which aims to support the recovery community in Essex by providing financial assistance to projects that foster recovery, inclusivity, and community engagement. The officer will ensure the fund's objectives are met, manage the application and selection process, and monitor the progress of funded projects.
What will I be doing?
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Essex Recovery Fund.

Key responsibilities
•Understand our cause, linked issues, and how these are publicly perceived
•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets
•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. You will design and deliver paid advertising campaigns and monitor, respond, share, engage, comment on posts, according to our guidelines and with responsibility for reputation management

•Support development of media relationships. You will curate press and media lists and respond to media queries, with shared out of hours responsibility.

You must also have a track record of delivering an end-user environment of more than 100 internal users and be confident in a range of cloud-based service platform providers and in managing in-house and outsourced managed services. The successful candidate will be supporting training needs analysis and managing the design, delivery and evaluation of our curriculum to ensure it supports individuals and teams. This includes the identification of external training providers and organising training events. About our Children’s Services
The Children’s Service are responsible for delivering services to separated refugee children. The service also leads on raising the profile of their clients and advocates on their behalf. Supporting this work, the service also promotes good practice to statutory and voluntary agencies and supports the Refugee Council Advocacy and Engagement Team to influence government to improve policy decisions and policy making at a national level.
About our Independent Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children Support Service
The focus of the Service is to offer advice and support to separated children, particularly around their asylum application, and to signpost and refer children to statutory and voluntary agencies, working with local authorities to ensure that appropriate services are provided. This service is contracted by the Home Office.
Your Main Duties and Responsibilities
We support separated children across England and part of our service is a team of staff based at the port of Dover, working 24/7 to provide a temporary safeguarding service for children arriving there, ensuring that their basic needs are met while they await transfer to the care of a local authority. The unit is reactive to the needs of clients, who may arrive at any time, and staff are expected to cover a variety of shifts.
You will be expected to:
- Work in the best interests of the child.
- Assess the basic needs of newly arrived clients and provide an appropriate service, including food, clothing, and access to hygiene facilities.
- Recognise indicators of confusion or distress, and respond according to the needs of the situation.
- Ensure all safeguarding issues are responded to, reported and accurately recorded using the appropriate internal recording mechanisms.

As a Research Grants Manager, you will provide external researchers and host institution administrators with advice, guidance and support on Cancer Research UK's funding schemes, research policies, and grants management approach.

What will I be doing?
Managing a portfolio of Cancer Research UK's applications and awards.
Supporting the operations of a Funding Committee and its Expert Review Panels by handling queries, advising on and promoting specific funding schemes, preparing panel reports, meeting papers and meeting minutes, and providing written post-Committee feedback.
Managing the peer review process, through the identification of appropriate referees and Expert Review Panel members.
Reviewing the finances for each award and carrying out post-Committee meeting outcomes.
Developing and maintaining strong and professional relationships with a network of CRUK researchers and host institution administrators; supporting grantees and applicants to manage their applications and awards.
What are you looking for?
Strong science background, with post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject.
A solid understanding of the UK biomedical research environment, potentially through working in or with universities/hospital trusts/biomedical charities.
Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, showing adaptability to meet targets and deadlines.
Accuracy and excellent attention to detail, with demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the role:
This role is based in our office in Rumney Police Station, Cardiff, CF3 4FD.
The purpose of this role is to provide support to victims, ensuring that South Wales Victim Focus succesfully helps people cope and recover from the effects of crime. South Wales Victim Focus serves diverse communities, many of whom experience a range of barriers that may impact on their ability to cope and recover from what they have experienced. These can include financial distress; social isolation; reduced mobility; mental and physical health issues; substance use and lack of opportunity. South Wales Victim Focus aims to identifying what matters to service users and empower them to take control of their journey.
As a Victim Care Officer you will work as part of a team providing direct support to the victims of crime ensuring they have appropriate information and resources to recover from their experiences.
You will need:
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the impact of crime on victims and witnesses
- Knowledge of a range of voluntary and statutory agencies
- Knowledge of safeguarding issues and legislation
- Experience of working in a challenging and changing environment
- Able to work without direct supervision
