This role offers a great opportunity for a talented and committed Individual Giving Fundraiser to step up into a manager’s position, or an existing Individual Giving Manager looking for a new challenge.

This is an important time to be joining Butterfly Conservation as we work towards the ambitions of our five year strategy to save butterflies and moths for future generations. You will lead in shaping the direction for this important fundraising programme and play a key role in our commitment to delivering the biggest possible impact for nature.

With the support of the Head of Membership and Individual Giving and colleagues across Butterfly Conservation, you will be responsible for the continued development of our Individual Giving strategy, plans and budgets.

With the help of one direct report, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of our core programme to meet annual income targets, as well as researching, recommending and developing new ideas and products.

As Individual Giving Fundraiser you will be responsible for planning and delivering appeals, campaigns and supporter journeys to recruit, retain and reward individual donors. Duties & Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a programme of acquisition campaigns to acquire new cash and regular giving donors.
• Contribute to maximising the potential of the fundraising database, segmenting and targeting supporters who have the potential to give regularly or at a mid-range level.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships and providing all required information for the successful delivery of campaigns and strategies.
• Develop, implement and monitor direct response campaigns (post, email, phone and digital) to acquire new supporters and deepen our relationship with existing supporters including raffles and other campaigns and appeals.
• To carry out research and maintain awareness of the wider fundraising industry to obtain relevant information that can contribute to proposals, mailings, applications, donor strategies and fundraising communications.
• Use supporter insight, data, and external trend analysis to spot opportunities for income growth or development.
• Work with colleagues in Marketing to develop engaging case studies and beneficiary stories to support fundraising and donor relationship-building.
• Devise inspirational and exciting ways to demonstrate the impact of donations on the lives of beneficiaries and ensure that this is communicated regularly and effectively to supporters.
• Ensure all activity is compliant with any regulations and any reporting requirements completed.

Key skills required for this role:

• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in fundraising software and Microsoft Office Suite.

The Fundraising team plays a vital role in income generation and is responsible for raising funds to cover the cost of providing our care. Along side this we work closely with the marketing team and use fundraising functions such as our events to raise awareness of the Hospice and the work we do, securing as many new supporters as possible.

The Fundraising Events Officer will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a calendar of fundraising events with a key emphasis on income, supporter experience and supporter recruitment. In addition they will be responsible for working with other departments across the organisation to support with non-income related events.

Job Title: Training Services Officer

Reports to: Head of Services

Direct reports: N/A

Location: Remote working – regular travel (UK & Ireland) - Head office attendance (Central London) as required.

Own transport is required for this position (mileage paid)

Salary: £28,000 - £33,000 (Full Time Equivalent)

Hours: 21 per week

 

Purpose of the role

To support Lifelites’ Services team in designing, developing and delivering the multi-channel Lifelites Learning programme. Assisting the Lifelites trainer to deliver training for staff across children’s palliative care in person, online and through e-learning. Lifelites Learning complements the provision of Lifelites technology packages, increases confidence and skills of staff and provides high quality, accessible learning resources to maximise the impact of assistive technology.

The role will also provide vital support and resilience to Lifelites technology provision Lifelites 25, our exciting expansion programme, which will take Lifelites’ services to the wider children’s palliative care sector.

Main duties and responsibilities

 

Training Development

- To support the Lifelites trainer with the design and development of Lifelites’ high quality installation and ongoing learning and development programmes

- To assist in producing bespoke training itineraries, handouts and user guides for installation and ongoing training sessions aligned to Lifelites technology installation schedule

- To support the development and implementation of Lifelites e-learning platform, including course modules and interactive learning

- To assist in creating and publishing simple, intuitive and accessible user guides on Lifelites’ Learning Hub

- To work with the Head of Services, Trainer and Lifelites technology service provider to identify and evaluate new assistive technology solutions suitable for implementation within children’s palliative care settings

Delivery

- To support the delivery of Lifelites face to face and online training sessions

- To deliver ad hoc face to face training, super user and showcase training sessions for Lifelites staff and other partners as required

- To deliver training for new services supported through the Lifelites 25 Programme.

Co-ordination and monitoring

- To work with the Trainer to respond to queries and training requests and schedule installation and ongoing training sessions for children’s palliative care partners

- To capture and record training monitoring data, contributing to internal and external communications, evaluation and reporting processes

- To represent Lifelites within children’s palliative care settings and forums, providing feedback for Lifelites’ staff on emerging issues as required

 

General

- To undertake continuous professional development

This is an integral role leads the Philanthropy team which delivers 40% of the charities income. What are the key responsibilities:

• Lead on the development of the multifaceted and multi-channel Philanthropy strategy across, major donors, special events, trusts and foundations responsible for delivering around 40- 50% of the charity’s annual income and a key area of strategic investment
• Lead the annual planning, budgeting and reforecasting process for all areas of Philanthropy and Special Events Fundraising, working with Director of Income & Engagement, Head of Finance, and other senior stakeholders as required to ensure robust, effective and achievable financial performance.
• Provide leadership to the Philanthropy Fundraising Team, representing the interests of Philanthropy Fundraising at all levels of the organisation.
• Provide line management to direct reports, nurturing the team and setting development plans to build skills and career development opportunities.

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years working in the philanthropy fundraising space, with extensive knowledge and experience of the charity and fundraising sector at a strategic level
• Extensive philanthropy fundraising experience, with ultra high net worth experience in particular required. Experience and working knowledge of Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations, Special Events, programme growth and innovation.
• Extensive experience of devising, implementing and delivering a philanthropy fundraising strategy which supports the organisational vision, mission and strategic objectives.
• Significant and proven experience of high value relationship management at 7 figure level
• Experience of building and embedding successful and sustainable growth strategies.
