This is an exciting opportunity for a Gateway Assessor or Advice Worker with a minimum of three months experience to be fast tracked through the full Citizens Advice Generalist Adviser training programme. Once having completed an initial four weeks training period you will be allocated to work on one of a range of different projects and services providing direct advice to the public and undertaking casework on social welfare law issues.
- You must be a trained Gateway Assessor with a minimum of three months experience.
- An understanding of the advice needs and issues of the local community in a diverse inner-city area

This exciting role will report to the Director of Learning and Impact and work alongside the Senior Evaluation and Research Manager. The role will have two main areas of focus. Second, the role will support local learning and high-quality implementation through harnessing the power of quantitative data.

Job Purpose
To act as a key link between the Finance and Fundraising to ensure that all fundraising income is accounted for correctly and in a timely manner. You will report into the Financial Controller and work together as part of the Finance Team. You will liaise predominately with the Fundraising Team alongside other stakeholders across The Children’s Trust.
Manage and account for Fundraising income
- Responsible for processing and coding incoming donations between the bank accounts, ledgers and the CRM system, ensuring that entries are up-to date, accurate and posted in a timely manner.
- Responsible for banking of cash and cheques daily at the Post Office and the bank.
- Responsible for processing Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) vouchers, credit card receipts and other charitable donation vouchers.
- Use the CRM system to identify the source and coding of donations.
- Work closely with the Supporter Care team and other teams to resolve queries.
- Responsible for restricted income, reconciling with Fundraising to ensure donations are allocated correctly.
- Ensure that collection box income is collected and reconciled.
- Issue, amend and cancel Fundraising invoices and ensure payment is received promptly.
- Process and reconcile World Pay, Just Giving and other forms of electronic giving receipts accordingly. Provide Fundraising with relevant reports.
- Reconcile shops weekly income to the till system reports.
- Obtain and process reports from PayPal in relation to goods purchased via the website.
- Manage PDQ and banking terminals / platforms.
Month end procedures
- Month end fundraising processes including accruing income and processing bought in goods journals.
- Retail journals including income and shops rent and rates expense release.
- Reconcile Restricted Funds, ensuring that each restricted donation is allocated to the correct Fundraising code.
- Reconcile Fundraising and Retail Gift aid.
- Work with Fundraising to chase unpaid invoices
Other general duties
- Lead with the Fundraising / ThankQ systems integration.
- Responsible for maintaining the Finance Fundraising SharePoint site.
- Manage Fundraising relationships ensuring relevant support is provided to meet all departments objectives.
- Raise ad hoc other income invoices and receipts such as rentals, events and student placements.
- Continually look to review and improve processes working with Fundraising and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the year-end stock-take and to ensure that the stock remaining, and stock sold reconcile for each shop.

This interim role is designed to cover a 12 month parental leave period, and will join during a period of wider organisational change. Demonstrable ability to work as part of a senior leadership team with a commitment to principles of shared leadership, and to take responsibility for decision making at a senior level.

The role
We have recently updated our Fundraising Strategy to help meet our exciting plans on growth. About the team
In Merseyside we have been providing housing advice and support services for over 20 years. We have a Community Hub in Anfield where clients can drop in for advice and our team also works across Merseyside in community settings, providing housing advice and advocacy, legal representation as well as practical DIY for people who have previously been homeless. We also work to bring about systemic change by raising awareness of housing rights and supporting local people to campaign on housing issues.
About the role
Your role will be essential to the day-to-day management of the Hub and in particular, the delivery of front-line services, contracts and projects. About you

Key Responsibilities

5. Operations and Finances: Working with the COO to ensure the financial stability of the charity and protecting and managing the charity’s assets.
6. Impact: Overseeing the work of the Director of Impact to ensure that the charity strengthens its approach to monitoring and evaluation, and that all preparations are successfully completed ahead of a potential independent external evaluation of our core programme in 25/26.
7. External Affairs: Overseeing both our fundraising and advocacy workstreams, including the development of relationships with new funders and politicians and policymakers. Representing the charity at external events (including certain conferences and fundraising events), and safeguarding the charity’s reputation and values, ensuring that risks are properly recognised and mitigated.
Required Experience / Characteristics
- Clear commitment to the work of the charity, its mission and its values
- A proven senior leader, with experience of delivering against ambitious targets across multiple departments or programmes and working with a Board of Trustees or directors

This position plays a pivotal role in the development and delivery of our unique, beloved 1:1 sessions for children with additional needs. Every week during term time, children aged 5-11 attend our 90-minute KEEN London sports and games sessions, where they receive personalised support from our dedicated team of volunteer coaches. Our Brent site is the newest addition to the KEEN London community and you'll play a crucial role in its continual development. We have just completed our two year pilot and are looking for a candidate to build on this foundation. As the Brent Service Coordinator, you'll be solely responsible for the front line delivery of the Brent service: planning, safety, and creating a fun and inclusive environment for all. This will involve working closely with our athletes and their families, supervising our team of volunteer coaches and engaging with the local community. About the role
Project Scotland, part of the national charity Volunteering Matters, supports young people to get on in life through the power of volunteering. Brighter futures work with pupils (aged 13-16), we offer disadvantaged pupils struggling to engage with the regular school curriculum the opportunity to undertake a volunteering placement as well as the option of having a mentor. We support and empower pupils to gain skills and confidence in a new environment within the wider community, promoting a sense of belonging, whilst extending horizons and aspirations.

This role will be working in partnership with St Thomas of Aquins R.C High School, we have been delivering Brighter Futures here for two years and have funding till June 2025.
