Role Requirements

• Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.  
• Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
• Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
• Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
• Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
• Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
• Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
• Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised

Purpose of the job/About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK’s Marketing and Communications Team.

As the Designer, you will bring our brand to life through high-quality, compelling, and on-brand design work across a range of offline and online assets. We are currently at the early stages of a brand review project, and you’ll play a pivotal part in activating and rolling out our refreshed brand across various channels in 2025.

Day to day, you’ll collaborate closely with the Editorial Manager to review and update our suite of information leaflets. To succeed in this role, you will have solid experience working in design within an in-house team or agency, in a multi-disciplinary graphic design role. Additionally, you will have experience championing and adhering to brand guidelines, as well as incorporating accessibility principles into your designs.

Job Title: Major Donor Manager

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, the Major Donor Manager sits within the Communications, Engagement and Fundraising team. 

The role involves developing plans that feed into the USPG fundraising strategy to increase engagement from high net worth individuals and cultivating new high value donors. Managing the major donor income and expenditure budgets, ensuring all activity meets income targets and expenditure remains on budget. Developing and managing a pipeline of donors to approach and build relationships, securing high value (5 and 6 figure) gifts. Hosting meetings, presentations and special events to network with high value donors and cultivate new relationships.

About You 

You are a confident, passionate fundraiser and relationship manager with the proven ability to motivate and inspire others to give. You have experience of implementing fundraising plans, developing a pipeline of high value donors and securing high value (5 and 6 figure) gifts. You are pro-active and self-sufficient, equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team to achieve shared goals. You are target driven with a hands-on approach, adapting as necessary to carry out a range of tasks from writing proposals, managing events and researching prospective donors. 

You are highly personable, with the ability to engage supporters and stakeholders with diplomacy and persuasiveness. Role Overview:
The Volunteer Coordinator for WeSwim is a key role responsible for recruiting and onboarding volunteers to support all our activities and events, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for all. This role also supports the setup of new WeSwim clubs in London, raising profile in new areas and developing relationships with new stakeholders to promote the organisation. Key Responsibilities:

• Volunteer recruitment & training: Develop and implement a marketing and outreach plan to  to attract new volunteers. Create marketing materials to advertise volunteer opportunities & use data to inform recruitment activity. Manage onboarding of volunteers including interviews, DBS and references. Organise and run induction sessions for new volunteers.
• Volunteer management & support: Maintain an up-to-date database of volunteers, including contact information, availability, and skills. Schedule and assign volunteers to sessions based on their availability & monitor attendance. Serve as the main point of contact for all volunteers, addressing enquiries and resolving any issues. Work with Club Committees (lead volunteers) to foster a positive and inclusive environment for volunteers, encouraging teamwork and community spirit.
• Marketing & Communications: Develop social media marketing and email communications to support recruitment and retention of volunteers in line with strategy.
• Setup of new swimming clubs: Scope & contact future pool partners, develop and deliver engagement plans to recruit new volunteers and swimmers to attend the club when it opens in partnership with WeSwim team. 
• Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders including: local authorities, community organisations, disability charities & sports clubs. Represent WeSwim at community events, meetings, and public engagements. Develop and implement strategies to increase the club’s visibility and reputation in the community.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career, with the freedom to creatively enhance and develop the fundraising strategy of an impactful community-based charity.

As Senior Fundraising Lead you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding, as well as nurturing and growing existing fundraising relationships. You will be responsible for strategising and carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. There is scope to explore further fundraising activites including events, corporate and community fundraising. You will play a central role and work closely with our operations team, as well as recieving expert monthly mentoring from a senoir fundraising consultant. 

This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Fridays which is when staff meetings are held.

Mental Health:  All of the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties and many function in an unstable and more immature way than their chronological age. Due to their experiences it takes time to gain trust from the young people in our community. As a core member of our team, you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being. 

Baobab’s Model: Please read the accompanying ‘Baobab Clincial Context and Model’ document for a detailed introduction. It often takes a significant amount of time to understand Baobab’s model of working, which aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young. It is important that you strive to have an insight to the experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre. It is also important that you understand the ways in which UK society and policy impacts on young asylum seekers (including invisibility, marginalisation, discrimination, and the fact of waiting in uncertainty for a long time).

We are excited to be recruiting a Marketing and Communications Officer to join our External Affairs team. The team plays an important role in bringing the charity’s work with schools, researchers, universities and parents to life through engaging copy, eye-catching design and insight-led lead generation marketing.

Tasks will include social media content planning and creation, website content creation and editing, newsletter creation for a variety of audiences, curation of the charity’s Friends of The Brilliant Club network which provides opportunities for people interested in the charity to come together, share ideas and support our mission, and preparation of the charity’s journal of student work, The Scholar.

This role will be managed by our Director of Marketing and Communications and can be based at any of our four Brilliant Club offices, located in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff. We expect some travel will be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings.

As Content Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and iterating the content framework. The framework describes the what, why, and how of producing high-quality, effective content at Battersea:

• What: Defining content pillars and content types that the content team works on.
• Why: Ensuring that all content the team produces supports Battersea’s overall marketing strategy and organisational strategy.
• How: Upholding an efficient process for content production and effective collaboration with stakeholders.

Collaboration is essential within this role. You’ll need to work closely with senior stakeholders and channel owners across the Brand team, Digital team, Communications, Insight and Impact and the wider organisation.
Strong communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and the proven ability to build relationships are vital to aid the smooth delivery of strategic projects and to drive to do things more effectively and efficiently through buy-in.
You’ll be adept at using data to inform content strategy and content approach exploring the ‘why’ across user needs. This includes leveraging insights, conducting content evaluations, and performing your own desktop research to bring our work to life, as we continue to develop our audience building and evaluation frameworks.
You’ll be supporting a dynamic Content team, giving guidance, coaching and fostering a culture of creativity and strategic direction, so they can deliver the right content, to the right audience at the right time which inspires connection to our cause and engagement with our brand.

You will have experience of working in an individual giving/supporter care team or marketing role within the charity sector managing campaigns and supporter communications. With a proven track record in delivering successful campaigns, the ability to work to tight deadlines and with excellent attention to detail, you will be able to effectively manage key relationships internally and externally to deliver on campaigns with agreed time frames.
