Location: This is a remote role, with a requirement to attend the UK Covid 19 Inquiry as frequently as possible when it is sitting, and on key days such as the opening of Modules or when high profile witnesses are called.
Hours: Full time, but flexible, with a requirement to work outside of office hours to attend key meetings and manage the press inbox when there is high demand.
Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice are looking for a press officer to oversee our press and communications as we fight to ensure the mistakes from the pandemic are never repeated again.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the press office for an organisation which in recent years has been at the forefront of some of the biggest news stories in the country, including the Covid Inquiry, ‘Partygate’ and many more.
We are looking for someone who supports our cause of ensuring that the mistakes made in the pandemic are never repeated and has good people skills to work sensitively with those who have been bereaved by Covid-19.
You will be one of a four person staff team working alongside our Directors and over 7,000 members who are all personally bereaved. You will be line managed by our campaign manager.

Press Officer Responsibilities:
• Manage our press officer so that we are able to respond to press inquiries in a timely and effective manner. We are lucky enough to manage a very busy press office, so strong organisational skills are required.
• Create press plans and proactively pitch stories which help achieve our wider campaign goals. This will involve creating press strategies with creative flare and the Press Officer will need to be comfortable thinking of new angles and stunts to raise our profile.
• To cultivate new and nurture existing media contacts
• Media train and support volunteers from the campaign
• Deputise for the campaign manager when required
• Oversee and generate fresh content for our social media channels, working alongside volunteers from the campaign
• Support with drafting copy to update our members as well as fundraising and reaching other external stakeholders when necessary
• Translate at times complicated policy lines around public health and legal processes into compelling personalised narratives for press statements and comments
Essential Experience:
• Experience of working within a busy press office environment, PR agency or as a journalist
• Proven experience of creating and implementing effective media strategies which help advance wider organisational aims and goals.
• Proven experience of proactive pitching stories in high profile media outlets that help to advance an organisations aims
• Proven experience of managing and maintaining good relationships with a variety of journalists, including national print and broadcast media, as well as political and health correspondents.
• Experience of prioritising effectively in a demanding and fast paced environment
• Excellent writing skills that can be tailored to reach a range of audiences.

Pride Cymru is a registered charity made up of a large core group of volunteers with a small team of p/t members of staff. We work all year round to challenge homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and to promote equality and inclusivity for all. We are most known for our annual Pride festival but we also run a number of exciting projects throughout the year in areas relating to sport, sexual health and LGBTQ+ history.
We are looking for a Social Media & Content Creation officer to oversee Pride Cymru’s current social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn). The role will involve planning, designing and creating high quality digital content, engaging with audiences and keeping up with social media trends.
This role will involve actively working with both our volunteer core team and our part time members of staff to ensure that all areas of our work are fully represented across our social media channels.

Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

Line Manager: Digital Communications Lead
Your responsibilities will include:
Social media delivery and community management
- Plan and deliver inspiring and effective social media content, including as part of engagement campaigns, fundraising appeals and initiative launches, and in support of our partners and members.
- Produce text- and video-/graphic-based social media posts and campaigns that are both suited to our target audiences and adapted for the most appropriate social channels.
- Carry out community management across the charity's digital channels, triaging queries and drafting responses.
- Assist with the optimisation of Rewilding Britain's current social media channels and the identification of new opportunities/platforms/trends that would help further our mission.
Email communications
- Support the Communications and Engagement team with the planning, building and scheduling of email communications (campaigns, supporters, fundraising, corporate partners etc) within Mailchimp.
- Assist with the AB testing of our email marketing and executing a plan of continuous improvement for our emails.
- Support with managing our enquiry inboxes as and when required.
Reporting and optimising
- Collate statistics on the performance of our social and email channels, in line with our KPIs, and work closely with the Digital Communications Lead to make ongoing recommendations for our output.
- Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve our social media approach.
- Stay current with sector and specialist trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously grow the effectiveness of our channels, particularly social media.
Communications support
- Take responsibility for triaging internal requests for content output across our channels and coordinate this across the Communications and Engagement team.
- Assist the team in keeping our image library up to date, by uploading and tagging new imagery.
- Support the team by uploading content to Rewilding Britain's website, following best practice. You may also provide support for more involved web optimisation projects.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits
The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.
The salary is £23,000 - £27,000 per annum depending upon experience.
There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.
Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.
