The Head of Resource Mobilisation will be responsible for overseeing all fundraising activities for the organisation's global programmes as well as leading a small, high performing team.

The Head of Resource Mobilisation will be responsible for setting and driving the income generation strategy, in collaboration with the Director of Business Development, for all global initiatives, particularly the Global Start Fund, Start Ready, the Innovation initiatives and hubs. This is a role for an ambitious and bold fundraising leader who has significant experience in securing large seven and ideally eight figure grants.
A large part of this role will focus on maintaining relations with governments, private foundations, corporate partners. An exciting upcoming opportunity within this role will be securing a new eight figure business case from FCDO in 2025. Beyond this, diversifying the donor base is also critical, so experience in securing new donors from scratch, particularly trusts and foundations and corporates (at the seven-figure level) will be paramount, so bringing a creative take to this area of work will be important.

The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partner Engagement Department within War Child’s award-winning Fundraising team. Working closely with the Philanthropy Lead (line manager) and Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will manage a portfolio of major donors at 5- and 6-figure level to support a team target of c£1.4M.
Results oriented, you will have strong interpersonal and management skills together with a flexible and proactive approach. This is a great opportunity for a motivated relationship fundraiser with a passion for international development to join a successful and ambitious team.
As Philanthropy Manager, you will:
- Identify and qualify a pipeline for up to 6-figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving
- Lead and be supported on building an excellent stewardship programme, supporting relationship managers across the team to deliver sector leading supporter journeys
- Develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for existing donors to generate significant income from the portfolio. This will include personal meetings, attending networking events, writing proposals/reports and making presentations
- Take an active role where relevant, on the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of philanthropy events, including events that are hosted by Ambassadors
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experienced in a similar fundraising role, with a knowledge of major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humantarian NGO
- Ability to input into fundraising strategies with a track record of securing 4-5 figure gifts and delivering against targets
- Experienced in stewardship strategies for major donors or the development of supporter journeys in order to retain donors
- A relationship focussed approach with strong networking skills at senior levels internally and externally

We’re delighted to be working with an ambitious international development charity who are searching for a Head of Fundraising. The charity supports individuals with mobility challenges to live a full life. The Head of Fundraising will focus on developing and expanding their portfolio of individual donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partners. This is also a great role for someone looking to step up into a Head of role for the first time.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the strategy, a small team and the stewardship and re-engagement of the charity’s current portfolio of high-value individual donors, trusts and corporate partners. You’ll also work directly with Programme Managers to create compelling new funding proposals to pitch to new partners.
To be successful in the Head of Fundraising role, you’ll need:
- Experience managing a relationships with high-networth-individuals, corporates and trusts and foundations, taking a relationship-led approach.
- Experience of researching new prospective donors and writing and pitching of funding proposals.

As part of the Trusts and Institutional funding team of four you’ll work alongside the Head of Trusts and Institutional, Trusts Manager, Trusts Executive and be line managed by the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Lead. Your key objective is to provide operational, administrative, and analytical support to the team to grow income and enable War Child to deliver quality programmes, by ensuring compliance with quality and donor requirements, contributing to effective risk management, providing support for the different donor accounts and ensuring processes and systems are in place, implemented and efficient. As Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive, you will:
- Develop donor profiles by conducting research on potential donors, including their funding focus, giving history, and connections to War Child

- Monitor and share potential funding opportunities with the relevant Donor Account Managers within the Trusts and Institutional Funding team

Prospectus is excited to be supporting Kijana Kwanza in their search for a Director of Partnerships and Income Generation: a grassroots project based in Moshi, Tanzania, which empowers children and young people with the skills and opportunities to prepare them for a future without poverty. The organisation directly sponsors over 200 children and also delivers a variety of day services and social welfare provision for the wider community of children, young people and their families.
Kijana Kwanza UK provides support to the work in Tanzania in particular through fundraising, governance oversight, and some advisory engagement in project delivery. A new post, Director of Partnerships and Income Generation, will lead on income generation at Kijana Kwanza to increase their operating budget and reduce reliance on the founder’s personal contacts and networks who have generously supported the charity since inception.
The successful applicant will be an experienced strategic leader, with demonstrable experience of developing sound fundraising strategies across diverse sources. S/he will have a track record in securing six-figure income from philanthropic sources, including corporations and major donors. Better Cotton makes cotton better for the farmers who produce it and for all those who have a stake in the future of the cotton industry. Today almost a quarter of the world’s cotton is produced under the Better Cotton Standard, and 2.2million cotton farmers have been trained in sustainable farming practices and are licensed to grow Better Cotton. A lot of this work is funded by the brilliant efforts of the fundraising and development team, and Prospectus is pleased to be partnering with them to recruit a new Fundraising and Partnerships Coordinator – Social Impact.
The Coordinator will drive revenue in support of ongoing success and growth of Better Cotton globally. The role will be responsible for growing income from institutional partners, corporates, and philanthropists and will line manage a Fundraising and Partnerships Officer too. In collaboration with the Programme Funding Manager and Director of Development, you will hyper-focus on social impact funding and will work closely with relevant thematic leads and country teams for proposal design, coordination and reporting of funded projects.
The selected candidate will have effective fundraising management and planning skills and excellent writing skills that have resulted in successful proposals. You will have a good understanding of the current donor landscape and fundraising environment – ideally in social impact – and will have good experience in project design with a facilitative approach to meet both farmer needs and donor expectations.

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, Gender and Humanitarian the post holder will identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them form prospects to secured funds. You will ensure the effective delivery of a portfolio of institutional and corporate grants, making sure projects are achieving key milestones and that day-to-day activities are on track. The Programme Development Manager will provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements. You will proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding. Finally, you will lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from Hand in Hand International and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required.
The ideal candidate will have an innovative approach and a strong track record in fundraising from large institutional donors; trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and governments. The main objective of the role is to identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds. The role will be roughly 70% fundraising and 30% grant management.
As well as a demonstrable track-record securing large, multi-year grants from different types of funders, you will have experience with their thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration. Experience working in development projects in Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Experience in Afghanistan would be a plus.
