About You

We are seeking a passionate, and experienced leader with a proven track record in the non-profit or academic sector to join our team as CEO. Your background will include strategic planning, governance, and financial management, with a strong ability to secure funding through grants and partnerships.

You will inspire and lead a diverse team, with expertise to build and maintain strong relationships, and represent our organisation in public forums and the media. Additionally, you will have a proven track record in leading the production of research and/or policy publications. What We Offer

The post is offered on a full time basis at 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis. Part time hours of no less than 30 hours per week could be considered for the right candidate if required. An attractive package is offered alongside flexible hybrid working arrangements. The salary for a full time post at this level is £65,000.

The principal objectives of SCCT are to provide Almshouses and make grants to support individuals and organisations within the boundaries of Sutton Coldfield.

They are a truly community-focused charity, with the origin of SCCT traced back to when Bishop Vesey of Sutton Coldfield persuaded Henry VIII to grant a Charter in 1528. Throughout a long history, SCCT has improved the lives of generations of people in Sutton Coldfield, particularly those in the greatest need. As the Chief Executive of SCCT, you will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and effective management to drive the mission, development, and impact of the organisation. The Board is seeking a part-time Chief Executive, working three days a week with an FTE salary of £85,000-£90,000 per annum.

There are three main functions of the role: overseeing operation of SCCT’s Almshouses and significant grant-making activities; supporting management of SCCT’s investments (principally a collection of properties, and an investment portfolio), and ambassadorial leadership of the charity in the community.

The role of the Chief Executive for SCCT will be varied, with the following functions covering a healthy but not all-encompassing overview of the post:

• Leading on the development and implementation of the EDI strategy

  • Develop and manage SCCT’s budget and five-year forecast
  • Report on financial performance to the Board and stakeholders
  • Liaise with auditors and external auditors
  • Manage investments, oversee major transactions and manage performance of investment partners and advisors
• Identify potential risks and challenges and ensure effective systems, processes and procedures are in place for mitigation.
• Operate SCCT in a manner which delivers long-term sustainability of this historic charity.

The Board is open to applicants from a range of careers and backgrounds, though have identified the below as essential for the new Chief Executive:

• Experience working at a senior level in a Charity, Social Housing, or non-profit organisation

About the Role

Experience in a VCSE leadership position is essential. The role offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a fast-growing organisation with the support and backing of a forward-thinking trustee board. You will ultimately act as the gatekeeper for all new business (bids, tenders, commissioned work) and work with the Head of Projects & Fundraising to identify and build strong ongoing partner relationships. Therefore, the successful candidate must possess the people skills to build strong connections within the existing team and be able to represent the whole charity when presenting our service.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring a joined-up approach between communities and programme teams leads to the delivery of a seamless journey for men, from initial awareness of their mental health needs to attendance at a circle, whether online or in-person.
• Develop, implement and continually appraise the plan for ongoing service growth – geographically and through pursuing and building new partnerships.
• Ensure that raising awareness of issues relating to men’s mental health remains a golden thread running through the charity’s entire work and communications, irrespective of whether it results in men accessing Mentell’s services or those of another organisation.
• Work with the Head of Projects & Fundraising and Community Manager to ensure a pipeline of funding from grants, philanthropy, donors and community fundraising.
• Oversee and increase the impact of effective and innovative communications via website, social media and hard-copy promotional materials.
• Take responsibility for all aspects of charity and other statutory compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Outstanding leadership skills proven within a charitable context.

The Role

The CEO will be accountable to the Board of Trustees for the overall strategic management, leadership, and development of BCD and achievement of the overall strategic objectives. Duties will include:

• Implementing and delivering the strategic plan and reporting on implementation, risk, and changes to the plan.
• Representing BCD as an active member of the Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS) strategic group and support the LDVS operational management team.

Wandsworth Oasis seeks a suitably experienced senior leader to become their next CEO to lead the organisation in its next phase of development and the continued delivery of its mission to achieve positive impact for people living with HIV or AIDS.

About Wandsworth Oasis:

The roots of today's charity grew from one shop, on Battersea Park Road, opened in 1992. The shop's objective was to raise funds to support the Wandsworth Oasis AIDS Care Centre. As we grew, our trading charity was formally set up and from there other shops were opened. For over 20 years now, we have been supporting a number of London-based charities that align with our mission of supporting people living with HIV, raising awareness for prevention of HIV infection and challenging stigma.

About the role:

Salary: c£60,000 pa fte (c£48,000 pa actual salary)

Hours: 30 hours per week/0.8fte

Location: Tooting, London SW17. Hybrid working by agreement.

Benefits: 33 days annual (including 8 bank holidays) pro-rata; 6% employer pension contribution

Contract: Permanent (6 month probationary period)

The CEO will be reporting to the Co-Chairs and directly line managing the Head of Income Generation and the Finance Manager. The post holder will have responsibility for the management and statutory compliance of the organisation which is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The CEO is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organisation as delegated by the Board, including the management of people and resources and operation of the shops. The CEO fulfils a critical support role to the Board in relation to governance requirements and will be expected to facilitate the development of strategic plans, ensure the sustainable and strategic management of the organisation in collaboration with the Board and, when appropriate, obtain external professional advice.

Responsibilities will include:

Mission and Strategy:

• With the Board and staff, shape the organisation's strategic and operational plans and lead their successful implementation.
• Optimise income streams and reserves to guarantee the charity's sustainability and development.
• Manage Wandsworth Oasis's grants programme to organisations and individuals, from application stage through to reporting from grantee organisations to ensure they achieve measurable impact.

Leadership and Governance

• Promote and role-model a positive and professional and compassionate workplace culture
• Work with the Co-Chairs to develop the Board and good governance practice and upholding regulatory requirements.
• Oversight of volunteer strategy and ongoing management of volunteers

Influencing and External relations

• Champion prevention of HIV, removal of stigma associated with HIV and the need for high quality support for people living with HIV.
• Maintain Wandsworth Oasis's external profile and influence with grantee organisations and applicants, other organisations in the HIV space, local stakeholders and networks where the charity operates.

As the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at BPAS, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of our clinical services. You will provide professional leadership to BPAS medical workforce and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Your responsibilities will include leading clinical governance initiatives, managing professional standards, and supporting the development of clinical strategies.
