Purpose of post:
The Major Gifts Officer will support the Head of Major Gifts in further developing the charity’s major donor portfolio, stewarding donors, and soliciting gifts. They will be responsible for understanding the motivations and interests of our donors and helping them to feel fantastic about the impact of their generosity. At its heart, this role is about connecting our donors with hospitals and fostering a deeper relationship and partnership with our charity.
Joining a small but established team, you will bring your drive and innovation to find new opportunities for donors to make an impact for patients and staff across our hospitals. A skilled communicator with exceptional writing skills, your can-do attitude and creative flair will thrive in translating complex medical projects into compelling stories and propositions.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, research and cultivate relationships with new and existing donors. Ensure our supporters receive regular relevant and compelling proposals which will inspire ongoing support and grow income
- Develop an excellent understanding of our donor pipeline. Identifying where individuals have shared interest areas and seek opportunities to maximise the reach of all our communications
- Where appropriate, identify and manage relationships with individual supporters to generate major donor and mid-level income and maximise fundraising opportunities. This may include face to face meetings, email communications and phone calls. This will also include supporting stewardship events within our hospitals.
- Work closely with the Charity Individual Giving Manager utilising the latest technology and techniques to ensure every supporter has a consistent and meaningful journey with our charity, as they progress from individual giving to mid-level giving and beyond
- Hold a close working relationship with the Charity Programme team and relevant hospital staff to identify projects early and plan solicitation and impact reporting throughout the year
- Support the stewardship of potential legacy donors where major donor-type treatment is appropriate
- Maintain meticulous records of all major gifts activity on the CRM system and working with the Charity Database & Insight Officer to extract data in a way which helps guide the major donor programme
- Comply with all relevant fundraising regulation including the Code of Fundraising Practice and GDPR
- Constantly scan the environment and liaise with peers in the sector to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our donors and are aware of the best possible ways to engage them

About the role
At St Mungo’s, we believe good internal communication helps our colleagues in continuing to deliver the best possible service to our clients experiencing homelessness and contributing to our shared ambition of ending homelessness and rebuilding lives.
We are currently looking for an experienced internal communicator to join the team as Head of Internal Communications on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.
In this role you will;
- Lead our small but ambitious internal communications team, working closely with the Executive and Leadership teams, the wider People, Culture and Inclusion directorate and colleagues across the organisation to help develop and deliver engaging internal communications to our client-facing services and central support services teams across the organisation.
- Provide strategic leadership of internal communications in order to achieve current, and develop future internal comms goals, in line with our organisational strategy and other key organisational plans (for example, our Race Action Plan).
- Develop excellent relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels, including Executive and Leadership teams, to meet St Mungo’s Achieving Excellence standards.
- Provide expert and strategic advice to senior internal stakeholders, including managing crisis communications.
- Oversee the design and delivery of innovative, integrated and creative IC campaigns that engage staff through a variety of channels and ensure strong, consistent internal messaging.
In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.
About you
The successful candidate will have demonstrable and significant experience of working in a senior communications role, ideally working with an internal staff audience. In addition, you will have:
- Experience developing and delivering internal communications strategies for diverse organisations.
- Experience of advising senior internal stakeholders on internal communications opportunities and challenges, including experience of managing crisis communications.
- Experience of organising and delivering events, or of overseeing the organisation and delivery of events.
- Experience of line managing staff and investing in their development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong editing and proofreading skills.

Our aim is to support people who have recently been sleeping rough, or who may be experiencing long term homelessness and work with them to develop the skills, networks and confidence to live independently in the community.
In this role you will jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and provide basic support and advice to clients. You will be the first point of contact at Reception for clients and visitors and have the opportunity to maintain a welcoming and supportive environment within the project. You will coordinate Health and Safety checks and administrative duties while working alongside the team to provide a person centred support to residents and clients.
About you
This role is ideal for people looking to develop a career in the sector; a number of current Managers started their career as Duty Workers. In addition you will have:
- Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment and good communication skills.

About the role
We are currently looking for a Custody Housing Advice Worker to be based in Prison Establishment HMP Belmarsh to support The Probation Services objective in reducing reoffending.
In this role you will be assessing clients’ housing needs and take action to prevent homelessness by;
- Supporting clients to retain existing accommodation or to relinquish tenancies to avoid accruing rent arrears and debt.
- To support clients who will be homeless on release to access appropriate accommodation.
- Working alongside The Probation Service to achieve set interventions to prevent homelessness.
- Working as part of a larger team based across 10 prisons and multiple probation office.
The post requires the successful candidate to be in prison establishments 2.5 days per week (2 full days and 1 half day).
About you
To be successful in this role you will have;
- Some experience of working with ex-offenders and people who are homeless/at risk of becoming homeless.
- The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team within the prison and probation environment and to maintain effective relationships with external agencies.
- The ability to work flexibly in a changing and often challenging environment.
- The ability to work to agreed deadlines and targets.
- The ability to cope with clients with multiple needs, who may display challenging behavior.

Your new company
You will be working for a large faith-based organisation based in Central London. Your new role
- Support the Payroll Manager in providing an accurate and timely payroll service.
- Input data into the Payroll Systems to ensure that details of staff, ministers and pensioners, including tax codes, entitlements, NI and other deductions are correctly set up.
- Calculate final payments as notified by HR and send P45s by the contractual pay date following the employee's last day of service.
- Ensure all statutory and voluntary reductions are made correctly.
- Prepare and post payroll summaries to the nominal ledger and reconcile control accounts.
- Update and submit RTI submissions to HMRC and upload tax code changes, ensuring all data is correct.
- Produce monthly debit statements, deal with staff queries and provide payroll information to HR, HMRC and other government departments.
- Prepare bank reconciliations for all bank and deposit accounts.
- Carry ou the annual payroll year-end routine, ensuring that the records reconcile with net pay, PAYE and other departments on annual returns.
What you'll need to succeed - CIPD qualified or equivalent / Qualified by experience.
- English and Maths GCSEs at grade 5 or above (or equivalent qualifications).
- Processing payroll: starters, leavers, changes, sick pay, maternity, deductions, shared parental leave, auto enrolment.
- Great communication (both written and verbally) with different stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively deal with processes for starters, leavers, pensions auto enrolment and payroll year-end reconciliations.
- Good understanding of the principles of accounting, including double entry bookkeeping.
- Strong understanding of tax, NI and pensions administration.
- Familiar with using IRIS Cascade HR, Star, PSE (Northgate).
- Highly numerate, with good attention to detail.

About the role
We are looking for someone to join the St Mungo’s BCP Street Outreach Service; our dynamic street outreach team who provide a rapid response service across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough.
The service works proactively to support people who are sleeping rough on the street with key healthcare, benefits; and accommodation support and advice to meet their individual needs and to support individuals to move away from the streets for good.
In the role of Outreach Manager, you will:
- Implement strategic approaches to service delivery, maximising resources and achieving positive outcomes for rough sleepers in the borough, ensuring the team’s performance is aligned with contractual and organisational KPIs.
- Work closely with local St Mungo’s services, as well as key partner agencies including commissioners and health agencies to tackle the prevention of homelessness in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
- Provide effective strategic leadership and management to BCPSOS within a fast and rapidly changing dynamic environment.
- Be responsible for data monitoring, analysis and report writing.
About you
We are looking for someone with the drive, passion and commitment to lead a committed, diverse and multi-skilled team to support rough sleepers off the streets. You should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- A flexible, creative and collaborative approach to working in partnership with others.
- Willingness to regularly monitor data compliance and analysis.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to rapidly develop the appropriate strategies to meet the needs of the rough sleeping community.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with relevant partners.

Job Vacancy – Regional Adviser
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused adviser to support the work of the wider Advice and Support team
The post holder will be responsible for the Midlands area plus other areas as required with an expectation of completing in person visits across the allocated counties. The role therefore requires access to your own vehicle and to reliable broadband. A car allowance and mileage will be paid on top of the salary.
The right candidate will enjoy and excel at building relationships and supporting individuals and families in distress and in times of need using skills and experiences to give clear information advice and guidance as well as supporting with applications for a charitable grant. Experience of managing their own diary and workload as well as significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role along with the ability to show empathy.
IT equipment and a company mobile phone will also be provided. An enhanced DBS check is required for this position.
Please note that whilst this is a remote role, there is a significant in person requirement that means weekly travel across all areas of the allocated counties and an initial expectation as part of the induction to attend the London office.

Salary: £31,525 - £34,306 (depending on experience) plus £5,000 car allowance
Holiday: 25 days (rising to 30 after 5 years’ service), plus additional 3 days to be taken between Christmas and New Year

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.
Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year. Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million. Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.
The MCF was founded in 2016 following the merger of four charities that had operated separately since the eighteenth century.
Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. They are professional and accountable, working independently but collaborating with volunteers, colleagues, and local agencies to provide an exceptional service on behalf of the charity.
Their main purpose is to visit and contact members of the Masonic community to determine their needs and to help them to access support from the MCF and other relevant agencies. Support is provided through a combination of home visits, telephone calls, or video calling.
The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.
Main responsibilities
- Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
- provide support and advice; and
- determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
- Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
- Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents
- Liaising with colleagues within the department to provide guidance and support in processing applications for our extensive range of grants to assist those in need
- Ambassadorial role for MCF, liaising with other stakeholders, delivering occasional presentations and workshops to raise awareness of the role of the Advice, Support and Enquiries Team and support available from the MCF
Essential
- Significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment

Churches Conservation Trust is the national charity protecting historic churches at risk, ensuring they are enjoyed as social, tourism, educational and cultural resources, kept open, in use, and living once again in the heart of their communities.
As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects. You will lead on all capital, conservation and maintenance, programmes in the region.
You will have expertise and specialist knowledge in the field of historic building repair and conservation, and a proven track record of project management (client side) in the heritage sector. You might be a Building Surveyor, a Conservation Architect, an Estate Manager, or a Project Manager, in this continually varied and unique role you will be working on some of the most significant historic buildings in the country. As you’ll be working on projects across the region, but not exclusively, it is essential you have a full driving license.
