Purpose of the role:

· To provide a friendly and welcoming service to all clients and visitors coming to Praxis’ Pott Street offices.

· To take day to day responsibility for the reception area; keeping it tidy and well stocked with service leaflets, timetables, fliers etc.

· Responsibility for the in and out-going post, answering of incoming calls and relaying messages, and carrying out necessary administrative tasks and taking responsibility for health & safety in the reception area.

· Overall, being a helpful, friendly, and professional first point of contact for everybody who comes through the door at Praxis.

Role Summary:

• The Communications and Marketing Officer post is in the Communications and Marketing team, within SafeLives’ External Relations Directorate.

Location: Home/South Wales-based with frequent travel to projects in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea

Contract:  Absence cover fixed term for 6 months, or to the return of the substantive postholder

Working effectively with volunteers is an important part of our Project Support Officer roles. You will support the Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, volunteer administration and volunteer retention, and giving our volunteers a fantastic experience. You will also be involved in guest outreach, and giving extra support to our Wales projects as and when required, to aid development and growth within the region.

Each of our Projects is run by volunteer Project Leaders and supported by Regional Managers through recruitment and training of volunteers. You will support the Regional Managers so that they can manage more projects. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteer Project Leaders for the Area.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects.​You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.

This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, which would include some evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role. You’ll need to live within easy reach of our Wales projects in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.

Job Summary 

This is a 14-21 hours per week part time temporary 6 month contract. The pro rata salary for hours worked is between £12,658 - £18,987 per year (£31,645 full time equivalent). 

There is one role that can be done from any of akt's offices in Manchester, London, Newcastle or Bristol. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a well-organised and professional individual to join our team to support our work with young LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness. The role primarily involves quantitative data collection, analysis and reporting to inform akt’s strategic direction and demonstrate our impact externally.

You will need excellent analysis and communications skills, be highly organised and have the ability to present data in a format that is understandable, clear and can be utilised in a range of areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative analysis of Services data, generating key insights to inform strategic direction and demonstrate akt’s impact.
• Produce regular internal reports for Services management on progress towards key performance indicators.
• Lead on presenting data to various audiences, including Services staff, senior management, Trustees, and funders.
• Build reports and dashboards on our CRM, In-Form (SalesForce), to support with data analysis and monitoring, and help Services staff to manage their caseload and performance.
• Coordinate and take the lead on specific projects relating to data collection, reporting, and/or impact monitoring including some cross-departmental projects.

As a Sous Chef you will be responsible for operating within one of two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings (Remembrance and Aspects) to supply catering across multiple outlets including self-serve 380 cover restaurant, table waited functions room up to 500, coffee shop, ‘pop up Foodservice outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum and hospitality. We are open daily from 10:00 till 17:00 7 days a week, we do some bespoke evening events in our Aspects building throughout the year.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

• To support the Executive Head Chef in the delivery of the Food Services Strategy.
• Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of Staff, Volunteers, visitors and clients.
• To ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognised catering standards and those implemented by the Food Services Manager and Executive Head Chef.
• To take operational control, including supervision of all kitchen staff, of any of the kitchens, food production, food service and pot-wash areas as required by the Executive Head Chef.
• To assist the Executive Head Chef with menu planning, rota changes, staff training and stock control..
• To report any customer complaints and compliments and to quickly resolve any complaints to ensure satisfaction at the point of delivery wherever possible.
• To help ensure that all members of staff adhere to both statutory regulations and NMA’s policies on food safety and health and safety within all catering areas.
• Work with the Executive Head Chef to ensure that effective induction, supervision and appraisals of catering staff are carried out and that training needs are identified and met.

This newly created position will become part of the Public Fundraising team and will develop and implement a legacy fundraising programme that will allow the charity to realise the great untapped potential of gifts in wills for the Charity. The Legacy Fundraising Manager will be tasked with increasing the number of legacy enquirers and pledgers from existing and new supporters and contribute to the charity’s sustainable long-term income growth

Gifts in wills are an important income stream for the charity, last year raising over £2M towards our fundraised income, despite limited promotion in this area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legacy fundraiser to really make their mark and develop a programme of activity that will feed our future legacy pipeline.

Your key responsibilities will include;

• Developing and driving forward an engaging and inspiring programme of activity that will increase numbers of legacy enquirers and pledgers from existing and new supporters.
• Project managing legacy fundraising activities, including creative development, briefing and managing external suppliers, briefing data selections and assessing results.
• Managing a legacy pipeline - engaging prospects, generating enquiries, moving supporters from enquirers to pledgers, stewarding pledgers and legator family members.

• A strong track record of legacy fundraising, with a broad knowledge of the gifts in wills marketplace and an ability to champion legacies
• Excellent experience and knowledge of relationship fundraising, marketing, cultivation and stewardship techniques needed for legacy fundraising
• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, and competent using data and insight to plan supporter focused activity

In the absence of the Assistant Food Service Manager, the Front of House Team Leader will step in to oversee operations and maintain service quality.

Re-engage has just launched a new five-year strategy which has growth at its heart. We’re looking for an exceptional person to join our team, for maternity cover, as a support and development officer (SDO) and to be a vital part of this exciting phase of our development.

Reporting to the support team manager and sitting within the service delivery team you will be working closely with other SDOs and engagement officers (EOs) with a focus on matching older people and volunteers in to Re-engage services and providing ongoing support.

Joining our team will give you a role where you’ll have a real sense of purpose and we'll give you the time, space, and support to develop in the role. We’re looking for some who is:

- Committed to engaging and empowering volunteers and older people.
- Experienced in using a CRM system to capture, store, and retrieve information on all stakeholders.
- Work with our CRM system and dashboard to identify tasks and manage workload, ensuring records of older people and volunteers are kept up to date
- Solution focused and committed to using technology to find solutions and to improve performance.
- Comfortable with communicating on the phone with people of all ages.
- A skilled and confident communicator.
- Familiar with working in a fast-paced environment with experience of working to deadlines and at meeting performance related targets.

Key responsibilities:

- Matching older people and volunteers into Re-engage services.
- Supporting volunteer and older people once they are matched into Re-engage services, including dealing with any complaints that may arise.
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify applicants for volunteer roles or older people referrals.
- Making calls to older people and volunteers on a regular basis
- Responding to phone and email enquiries from our shared mailbox and phoneline that provides high quality support to older people and volunteers.
- Attending face to face meetings with colleagues occasionally
- You may be required to undertake other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post.

This role will require an enhanced criminal record check.

About you
Essential:

- Experienced user of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Dynamics or equivalent systems.
- Enthusiastic about using technology to improve the volunteer and older person experience and to improve performance.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.
- A desire to learn, adjust and adapt to constructive feedback.
- Organised and has a methodical approach to work and excellent time management.
- Initiative-taking, able to take responsibility for own performance and to demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure to meet targets.
- Strong understanding of the importance of record-keeping and CRM systems.
- Strong understanding of the importance of brand and commitment to the brand guidelines.
- Clear understanding of confidentiality and the implications of GDPR when working with volunteers and with older people.
- Clear understanding of safeguarding systems and processes.

This role will sit within the Philanthropy & Partnerships team and will be responsible for managing the prospect research function to ensure sufficient due diligence on current and potential donors whilst identifying any new opportunities. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of existing and new Trusts and Foundations in order to secure funds for St John’s vital work in the community.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Significant experience of undertaking research and due diligence checks within a charity or commercial setting. 
• Experience of using databases and producing data-driven management information reports.
• Familiarity with trust fundraising, bid writing and donor stewardship within a charity setting.
• Proven ability to proactively seek and identify new prospects as well as producing high-quality prospect research on these individuals and foundations.
• Experience of developing bespoke fundraising proposals for trusts and foundations, or grant giving bodies.

• Maintain a healthy and sustainable pipeline of philanthropic, corporate and trust and statutory prospects through detailed research and strategic insight.
