We are looking for a Head of Financial Accounts to join our busy Finance and Commercial directorate and lead our Financial Accounts team.
Reporting to the Director of Group Financial Accounts and Business Processes, this role will see you devising and maintaining a system of internal financial controls, policies, delegated authorities and procedures to safeguard RBL funds (RBL charity and subsidiaries) and ensure that funds are spent in line with charity law, applicable accounting standards and donor wishes.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of the annual consolidated accounts of the RBL group and subsidiaries, as well as the individual financial statements for the main RBL charity, Poppyscotland and other London based trading subsidiaries
- Project management of annual statutory external audit as well as other smaller assurance or reporting engagements and take appropriate actions
- Leading an effective Branch Accounting function, ensuring that the annual return process is successful in recording transactions accurately and to timetable
- Ensuring the RBL group is fully compliant with all relevant tax legislation, providing internal advice on the tax status of transactions and preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns and annual Corporation tax returns.
- Project management of the annual audit, ensuring that the auditors receive an accurate set of accounts, associated working papers and all requested deliverables by the agreed deadlines
- Management of permanent team of six, plus interim year end accountants
You will be a fully qualified CCAB Accountant and will bring experience of leading a multi-discplinary Finance team in a large organisation. You will have experience of producing and/or auditing complex consolidated statutory accounts and will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the principles of internal financial controls and VAT as it applies to charities.

About the role:
As Specialist Project Worker Complex Needs, you will work creatively and collaboratively with women who have experienced VAWG. You will provide an effective high quality support service in an accommodation setting, working with clients facing Multiple Disadvantage, and living with complex needs as well as those with medium and low support needs. The role of complex needs project worker (Specialist Project) is a specialist role designed to understand the multiple disadvantages that victims of VAWG may face. As such you will understand gender informed practice and working with those who are victims of domestic violence and other gender-based violence. It is also essential that you understand the importance of best practice around those who have experienced multiple disadvantages by adopting a trauma informed approach in line with SHP’s psychologically informed framework.
Gender-based and gender informed support will also need to be offered such as attending MARAC, using a multiagency approach and helping your clients to reduce harm in relation to VAWG. We aim to offer a holistic approach to case working and you will also be expected to engage your clients with activities within the hostel, ETE and mental health support from external agencies in order to help them to move towards independence.
SHP’s aim is to improve outcomes for service users both within the service and by enhancing their ability to utilize external specialist, statutory and community services. The support you provide will ensure that clients are able to:
- Access and sustain their accommodation within our services
- Access and feel safe in engaging with specialist support in relation to their needs (i.e., substance use, health, mental health, complex trauma, offending, street activity}
- Access primary health care, and improving their wellbeing and process of recovery.
- Access work, training, and other opportunities,
- Be supported by, and be active in, their community
- Develop and maintain positive personal relationships
You will be part of a dynamic team in a Respite setting, holding a caseload of clients with the opportunity to draw on specialist roles within the team, the organization more broadly, and working in tandem with specialist external agencies. Your ability to forge meaningful relationships will provide the basis of the work to empower your clients, helping them to engage with a range of community resources and build a robust network of support.
About you:
- Previous experience of working with female rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs.
- An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches and working collaboratively within a harm minimisation and recovery framework.
- A flexible, innovative and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage and challenging client group, is also required.

I am excited to be working with an amazing sustainability charity in search of 4 x Grants Programme Officers. As Grants Programme Officer you will play a key role in the management of grant and delivery programmes managed by the organisation. You will have responsibility for a range of tasks across the project/grants management cycle, including assessment of funding applications, undertaking due diligence procedures, processing and managing claims, making payments, monitoring projects, analysing programme data, and liaising with project staff, grantees, and funders.
Main duties:
Assess capital grant funding applications using compliance checks, due diligence processes and assessment frameworks
Monitor the delivery of projects and grant spend by assessing progress reports, data returns and grant claims
Input into and use a range of management information systems to support the delivery of the programme
Act as a point of contact for external grant recipients and project delivery staff, providing advice and guidance on monitoring processes and compliance requirements
Process grant claims within the charity’s financial procedures
Produce accurate, high quality written reports for Decision Panels and Managers.

About The Role
At the National Memorial Arboretum, we believe in building on potential. As a Chef your ability to ensure the prompt service and provision of all meals and services could have a real impact on people’s lives.
The Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion
As a Chef you will be operating within one of two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings (Remembrance and Aspects) to supply catering across multiple outlets including self-serve 380 cover restaurant, table waited functions room up to 500, coffee shop, ‘pop up Foodservice outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum and hospitality. We are open daily from 10:00 till 17:00 7 days a week, we do some bespoke evening events in our Aspects building throughout the year.
If successful, the main duties of your role will be:
- Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of our visitors
- Adopt operational responsibility for one area within the kitchen (for example one of the preparation areas, baking, hot meal production, etc)
- To operate across two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings to supply a 380 cover self-serve restaurant, table waited functions room, events and functions hospitality, coffee shop, and ‘pop up’ outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum.
- Ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with the standards set by the Executive Head Chef
- Ensure that all areas within the kitchen and dining room areas are clean and tidy at all times, and all relevant documentation is up to date
- Daytime and evening Events catering up to and including formal banqueting for up to 500 attendees
You will have experience of working as a Chef in a busy kitchen together with a catering qualification and food hygiene training. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential together with the ability to work under pressure.
You will be working 5 days out of 7 with the occasional evening work at events.
About the National Memorial Arboretum
The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion. You will have proven experience of delivering information and advice services working directly with the people you are supporting as well as maintaining professional relationships. Key to this role will be your excellent communication and relationship building skills with patients, clinicians, and a wide range of cross sector partners.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Strategic Programme Manager to join us to manage the development and delivery of one of our key programmes, working closely with colleagues across the organisation to transform our Publishing business.
We are looking for someone with experience in managing programmes in complex business and technology settings with multiple delivery methodologies. You will have also managed the full lifecycle of a programme in the past, including facilitating programme governance, budget and risk management while ensuring the alignment of the initiatives to the programme’s aims and the organisation's strategy.
More about the role:
• Manage the development and delivery of Modernisation and Transformation Programmes in RSC.
• Ensure continuous alignment of the Programmes to RSC’s strategy.

Repairs and Maintenance Coordinator

The Role
The main aim of this role is to provide the coordination and administration of their day to day repairs and maintenance functions for both responsive, planned and preventative maintenance and compliance.
- Identify reported repair issues through consultation with the customer (and, where appropriate external services and wider housing team) allocate and schedule repairs following repair timescales in line with KPIs, and manage this process.
- Ensure all periodic testing, e.g. Gas Safety, Electrical Inspection, six monthly testing of Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, and other cyclical maintenance’ is completed within the required timescales by an approved contactor in line with targets/KPIs
- Ensure effective communication with customers, staff, contractors and all relevant stakeholders around timescales and access restrictions to properties/premises.
- Provide day-to-day coordination of the internal Repairs & Maintenance Operatives, and external contractors updating diaries, systems and schedules, to ensure within repair timescales.
- Be the first point of contact for Repairs & Maintenance Service for their customers, support workers, housing staff and contractors.
- Support to source and administer new external contractors in new and existing areas ensuring quality of work and value for money are being achieved.
- Investigate and process all maintenance requests and repair orders including reactive, planned and remedial works.
- Undertake property/void inspections and annual condition surveys when required, this could be in void or tenanted properties
- Provide effective support and coordination to the wider housing team, around property condition and repairs, to ensure effective joint working.
