The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading charity working on prevention of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Our aim is to prevent gynaecological cancers and save lives by raising awareness and funding ground-breaking research focused on risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the five gynae cancers.

What's this role about?

This exciting position is responsible for delivering our fundraising programme to the public, with support from our Deputy Head of Fundraising.

You will focus on delivering key fundraising activities and an exceptional experience to a wide range of supporters, ensuring that you deepen relationships and maximise value. You will also coordinate and deliver the marketing of our public fundraising activity, alongside colleagues in communications and digital engagement.

The role works across three key areas:

• Individual giving (direct marketing, regular giving, in-memory)
• Sporting events & challenges (virtual challenges, running events, our annual bespoke trek)
• Community fundraising (campaigns, community groups, ad-hoc fundraisers)

We do not expect you to have experience across all three areas.

This role is also responsible for the line management of our Fundraising Assistant, who you will help to develop in their role and ensure all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Person specification

To fulfil this role, we believe you will need the following skills and experiences:

• Strong copywriting skills with experience targeting various audiences, channels, and activities.
• Understanding of digital marketing.

We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual to support the management of our special purpose funds (SPFs). These funds contain charitable donations for services across Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and can be used to support projects that benefit patients and staff, over and above what the NHS could normally provide.

Our activity in this area is increasing, and we’re looking for someone to help us maintain the highest levels of administration and stakeholder engagement. In this role you will be responsible for managing the administration of our special purpose fund operations and processes. Join Britain’s biggest charity supporting Kinship Carers. 

We know kinship carers are strong, capable and fiercely determined to ensure they get what they need to support their kinship family. And we want to support them to feel confident and empowered to do that. Kinship has been awarded funding to develop the first ever training programme for kinship carers. The programme will support all kinship carers across England in the caring role.  

Are you or have you been a kinship carer? Could you use your skills and experience to co-deliver engaging training workshops for other kinship carers?

This role is core member of our Training team responsible for the delivery and facilitation of our in person and online workshops for kinship carers alongside colleagues some of whom have lived experience of kinship care. There will be a lot of delivery in person and online to reach kinship carers across England and individual and team targets to be met as part of this high-profile contract.

You’ll need to be a confident, experienced facilitator with exceptional communication skills. You’ll have a creative, energetic and determined approach to providing engaging and interactive experiences for participants and you’ll understand how people take on information and be able to differentiate your style to respond to a wide variety of needs.

On a practical level you’ll be confident and organised in your approach, be calm under pressure, and be equally comfortable facilitating sessions in person and online to large and small audiences. You’ll be confident using technology including Zoom and be familiar and at ease using a wide range of tools and techniques relevant to both online and in person learning.

This post-holder is important in acting as a first point of contact for the Director. As such, you will need to work efficiently under your own initiative and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and partners, including significant figures in the worlds of music and the church. You will be able to work with attention to detail, and be a good completer-finisher.

Youth Engagement Coordinator

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (until 30 April 2025) with the possibility to extend.

Hours: Three days a week (0.6 FTE) – there is flexibility on allocation of these hours across the week.

Please note as this role works with young people there will be occasions where your working hours will be outside the standard 9-5:30pm. This will typically be a few meetings per month that can last until 7pm and about three weekend days over the course of this contract. This is to ensure our activities fit around the young people’s education and work commitments.

Salary: £28,000 per annum (at 0.6 FTE this would be approximately £16,800 before tax).

Holidays: 27 days per year, plus eight bank holidays (pro-rata)

• Support the young people to work together to write their monthly Youth Bulletin.
• Support the young people to engage with our Board of Trustees. This includes setting up briefing calls and helping the young people prepare their presentation.
• Work with our Membership Engagement Manager to support the young people to participate in FEA Collective Action Working Groups and policy influencing opportunities on themes they are interested in.
• Work with our Head of Communications to support young people to create content to promote the work the group are doing, influence change and get other young people involved.
• Support the evaluation and recruitment processes at the end of the programmatic year.

Support planning and execution of the Youth Summit: In October we will be hosting our second Fair Education Youth Summit in partnership with Mission 44. This will bring together young people from across our membership and the wider education and youth sectors

• Support the Events Manager with the event logistics.
• Support with guestlist management and participant communications for the event.  
• Support the Head of Youth Engagement and Impact and Evaluation Manager to collect and analyse the attendance, feedback, and outcome data from the event.

Support facilitation of the Youth Engagement Working Group: Our Youth Engagement Working Group supports FEA members and other sector organsiations to increase and improve their own youth engagement practice. You will:

Key responsibilities

- Develop an excellent understanding of our donor pipeline. Identifying where individuals have shared interest areas and seek opportunities to maximise the reach of all our communications

- Where appropriate, identify and manage relationships with individual supporters to generate major donor and mid-level income and maximise fundraising opportunities. - Work closely with the Charity Individual Giving Manager utilising the latest technology and techniques to ensure every supporter has a consistent and meaningful journey with our charity, as they progress from individual giving to mid-level giving and beyond 

- Hold a close working relationship with the Charity Programme team and relevant hospital staff to identify projects early and plan solicitation and impact reporting throughout the year

- Support the stewardship of potential legacy donors where major donor-type treatment is appropriate  

- Maintain meticulous records of all major gifts activity on the CRM system and working with the Charity Database & Insight Officer to extract data in a way which helps guide the major donor programme

- Comply with all relevant fundraising regulation including the Code of Fundraising Practice and GDPR

- Constantly scan the environment and liaise with peers in the sector to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our donors and are aware of the best possible ways to engage them

• Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team
• Have day to day responsibility for the Individual Giving income stream
• Manage a portfolio of existing Individual Giving supporters, providing exceptional supporter care and building relationships, stewarding and nurturing existing donors.
• Improve supporter retention and maximise donors’ lifetime value to hyh
• Manage, develop and lead on the use of hyh’s CRM effectively to segment data and make insight-led decisions. This includes developing new reports, liaising with the external CRM consultant to make improvements, writing up procedures and training members of the team in best practice.
• Acquire and develop new donors through solicitation and stewardship plans using a supporter journey programme to build engagement and loyalty.
• Develop marketing and comms materials through digital and other channels to deliver the programme.
• Maximise all opportunities to develop regular giving, appeals, one-off occasion donations, in-mem and legacy
